We had a charming and handsome waiter, Paul, who was attentive to our needs without excess hovering.
Mom and I ordered fresh-squeezed limeades on this hot summer day, the best we've had. We started with the parmesan fries, which were WONDERFUL. We chose 2 sandwiches to share, the grilled cheese with tomato soup as a dip, and the chicken sandwich on a pretzel bun with barbeque sauce. M-m-m-m!! Our sides were deviled eggs, and vegetable soup. Everything was delicious and unique!
We agreed we would come back soon for another delightful lunch as soon as possible. Meat-lovers, vegans, vegetarians alike will be pleased with the options. I believe they also offer some gluten-free dishes. Four of us shared a terrific cheese plate and sampled each other's entrees. Everything was fresh and satisfying without being heavy. The fish tacos were a standout, with great texture, flavor and a hint of heat. We stuck to wine and craft beer but the cocktail list looked really interesting. Westside Local is a great fit for a cool neighborhood. The hand-crafted tables, exposed brick walls and local art, as well as locally sourced organic foods show off a fun, sophisticated side of Cow Town. She said her fish tacos were good. I ordered a pasta with peas and snow peas. The sauce was a little heavy, for what I thought would be a light dish, but the taste was wonderful. Tasted a Spanish white wine (thanks to restaurants that allow a "taste") and didn't like it at all, so chose a California Sonoma Valley white. I enjoy the fact that menu changes with season. It was the first time I'd been there when there was live music.....and somewhat difficult to talk. The waiter was knowledgeable and helpful - we took all of his suggestions and were glad we did. Everything we ordered was good including the Lay, Lady, Lillet cocktail, which reminded us a white sangria, but with more of a kick and the Spring Pea Pasta, which had pleasing but mild tarragon flavor. The wine list had some decent wines and the by the glass offerings were satisfactory for those who want only a glass or may want different wines throughout dinner. I definitely will go again! The deviled eggs were like no others I have ever eaten, and I loved my Apple Chicken Sammy w/smoked Gouda cheese. The pretzel bun was outstanding. The beer list was extensive, and we appreciated the pairings that were on the menu. The food was definitely plentiful, and our order was on the table in a very short amount of time. The service is pleasant and efficient. I had the mac and cheese with bacon and shallots. Very yummy. I wish I had to thought to ask about portion size because it was very generous. Because my friend and I were headed out for the evening, we couldn't take home our leftovers and it made me very sad to waste. Plus I was too full for dessert. The food is very good: fresh ingredients and unusual combinations. The service is attentive and friendly. Even though we were stuffed from dinner, we couldn't resist bread pudding for dessert.
