Located in the heart of midtown the Wayfarer is a must for everyone in New York. Executive chef Braden Reardon provides a unique dining experience featuring diverse artisanal American seafood and steak cuisine. His menu includes flavorful signature dishes such as shellfish cioppino and a 28 day dry
aged prime cut ribeye with mushroom rosemary ragu. The wayfarer also offers a variety of locally sourced fresh fish and shellfish options from the raw bar as well as appetizing breakfast, brunch and lunch menus. To add to the overall dining experience, award-winning mixologist Christian Sanders has created a collection of innovative custom craft cocktails. The main bar and second floor lounge provide a perfect place for after work drinks or gathering of close friends. The luxurious grand dining room is furnished in rich leathers and woods, for an “old meets new” atmosphere drawing inspiration from the 1970’s blended with the classic New York of the 1800’s.

Best gaspacho I have had in New
York Maitre d went above board to find us the quietest table in the restaurant(not that it was quiet) Need to play the music one or two decibils lower as the noise level is loud"

A friend and I dined here after
seeing a show. Upon entering, the restaurant is gorgeously designed. Beautiful seating and colors. The wait staff was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. However, the food was average. I ordered the little lobster roll, the black bass and the apple tart. The lobster roll was decent but I've had better at less expensive restaurants in New England. The black bass was not seasoned and luckily I had ordered the puree potatoes which I combined with the fish to have a little bit of flavor and texture. The apple tart was bland. My friend enjoyed her scallops, but felt that the beef tartar was just average. Pricey for the quality of food. Would try other restaurants before returning here."

We were a party of 6 business
colleagues. They placed us in a booth that is not designed to seat 6 comfortably. Looking around, there was no other seating area for a party of 6 except these small booths. The food was very good but 6 middle-aged men crammed in a booth is not a recipe for a good dining experience."

The salmon with crispy skin entre
was superb. The passion fruit semifreddo was memorable. Service was friendly and most helpful. A moderate noise level made conversation possible. This is not true for many many other restaurants these days."

great cocktails, good food (albeit
slightly limited menu) and fantastic service. it's a seafood restaurant so the prices are a little high but the quality is definitely there and while it was pretty busy, we were never rushed after we finished eating - which can be a rare treat in some restaurants in nyc."
Dined on 7/21/2014
Food was very good and we would
definitely go back."
Dined on 7/20/2014
Overall just a wonderful
experience from the helpful waiter to the attentive staff. We had the salmon and the chicken breast and both were perfectly cooked. The beet salad was also a welcome part of the meal. Would definitely return on a trip to the city."

Great selection for large groups
especially for corporate dinners!"

Could not be happier with our
experience at The Wayfarer! We were seated at a two top along the gorgeous leather curved banquette - with open windows to lovely evening outside. The menu is small, the focus is quality. My husband had the Seafood Platter that is meant to be an appetizer for his meal. The seafood platter, all steamed items, arrived on a double decker platter in a presentation that was spectacular. He thought for sure there had been a mistake and that he had gotten the larger Deluxe Seafood platter in error. But no, this huge array of Shrimp, Lobster, mussels, clams and oysters was indeed that smaller platter and it was fantastic. My meal, the Grilled Shrimp with avacado/cilantro was equally delicious!"

I came to this place with my
clients to try a new spot in the area. The food was phenomenal (especially the artichokes, octopus, and prawns) and was beyond thrilled. The service was impeccable and the staff provided a great experience. Will definitely come back."

My wife and I had visited this
resturante about two months ago and were very impressed with the food and knowledge of the wiat staff. This visit we noted the resturante was only about 50% full on a Saturday night at 8:30pm. The food was still excellent, but we were dissappointed our waiter(s). They seemed confused who was supposed to be taking care of what, and did not exhibit any of the knowledge of the menu we experianced on our first visit."
Dined on 6/28/2014
Yes- This is the third time I
have been here. The service was terrible the first time, mediocre the second time, poor last night. We were very clear that we were in a hurry and needed our appetizer and entrees brought together. They missed that and we had to leave hungry. Shame for them, given how much I eat out. The food is very good but the service is inconsistent (and I suspect that the kitchen small/slow)"

I have liked eating in the other
restaurants in this group including blt fish, steak and cassa nonna and like seafood so had to give this place a try. I went for my birthday and place did not disappoint.Service was excellent attentive without being pushy. The place is nice with plenty of space between tables so you are comfortable and like All the food was done just right.Only issue maybe was oyster list was long but only had a few available. Only thing that distracted from night was I am part of restaurant loyalty program and one of the benefits is getting half off dinner on your birthday. There system was not hooked up so did not get that. I am not sure waiter knew that benefit as be just mentioned not getting points. I will return."
Dined on 6/20/2014
A nice environment but the food
was tasteless, the service was lackluster and the prices those of a much better restaurant."
Dined on 6/17/2014
I had hopped it would have a more
innovative menu. Although the food, etc was very good - the price was a bit over the top. NYC is pricy - and this is a pricy neighborhood but I think you might try to appeal to other than the expense crowd."

We were staying at the Quin Hotel
next door, my husband has a severe gluten allergy and they made a huge effort to accommodate us, management were on top of it and the chef came out to speak to us. Everything was perfect, however our waitress had a little bit of an attitude that made me feel a bit uncomfortable...it really wasn't clear to me what she didn't like about us, I was dining with my husband and two children who were pretty well behaved, and we didn't have any out of the ordinary requests. I am not going to let her attitude ruin such an enjoyable meal, the rest of the staff were very courteous, friendly and I cannot fault the service they provided."

We went there on Memorial Day
weekend. Started off with a drink at the bar, then moved to oysters, which were amazing. The porterhouse steak and mushroom sides for dinner were also incredible. Our service was always prompt and efficient, and we really enjoyed the meal and the ambience."
Dined on 5/25/2014
The restaurant within the Quin.
Very nice in all aspects. Great service. Great food. Went back the next night for dessert and a nightcap. "

A light and airy space at miday.
The food was good with a nice selection. Very busy but the service was attentive and friendly. Will definitely go back."
Dined on 5/11/2014
This seafood centric place is
conveniently located and has a pleasant ambience. The food is very good indeed, and when they resolve some of the slow service issues, it should become quite popular. The pricing is really high for the neighborhood. "
Dined on 5/9/2014
This was great when it first
opened but the good has taken a nose dive unfortunately. Would like to see fresher product, seafood was jelly like and should be crisp."
Dined on 5/8/2014
I went one time and that is all I
would go. Drinks are on the high side-$17 and the wine list needs alot to be desired. There is no consistency in the pricing of the wine. In one style, it went from $78 a bottle to $220. Food was good but again expensive for what you got."
Dined on 5/6/2014
This place was a joke. No one had
a clue about service. Do not go!"
Dined on 5/4/2014
Good: food is excellent - fresh,
interesting, flavorful; open, bright ambiance; bus staff is excellent. Bad: terrible waitstaff - expect stuck-up and rude without even near the flawless service that sometimes comes with that in NY. "
Dined on 5/3/2014
Days of this restaurant is
numbered. Living in NYC I have had many experiences in food and restaurant world, but this was a new low. Bad food, exorbitant price and high noise made my experience excruciatingly painful. Never going back there. "

They make the best salmon burger I
have ever had! I have ordered it 5 times (well done) and the quality has been consistently outstanding. Although I have not tried any of their other offerings, they all look quite good. "
Dined on 4/26/2014
Excellent brunch menu. Love the
atmosphere and décor. Fantastic wine list by the glass and bottle. Menu looks great. Bar area has lots of room, very elegant with COMFORTABLE ADULT CHAIRS! Only my first time there but I live in the neighborhood and will be returning often to sample more food. Great location one block from Central Park. "

After reading some reviews, I
thought the Wayfarer would be ideal for a celebratory lunch w/ a friend. Imagine my horror when we arrived to find construction occurring mid-day on the main floor of the restaurant. Though we dined upstairs, the constant sound of sawing, hammering and drilling that overwhelmed the space was hard to ignore. Additionally, the upstairs bar area looked incomplete, glasses were dirty and there was an air of inexperience among the staff. Food was ok, nothing memorable and there are certainly much better seafood oriented menus in midtown. The Wayfarer isn't a cheap date - sadly there was a big disconnect between the experience they are delivering and what they think their customers should pay. "
Dined on 4/22/2014
The food was good, great dessert.
I also liked the interior and the location. However, the service was terrible: we had to ask for things twice, the waiter was trying to ignore us for no obvious reasons. Everything just took too long and it was a bit frustrating. When we asked for a desert menu, we never got it. Then a busser came over to pick up plates and we asked again - so all he had to do was to pick the menus up from a station right next to our table - so why did we have to wait for 10 minutes to get them - I am not sure. I would definitely not come back."

Went for lunch pre-theater.
Lunch and the ambience were very good. My son had the seafood cobb salad which had delicious calamari, shrimp, crab etc. on crispy spinach. I had the grilled chicken club which was very flavorful. We had iced tea and club soda with lime in addition to water. The glasses were very small. I remarked that "it is difficult to quench one's thirst with such small glasses." The service was good but a bit haphazard. It took a little too long to get the waiter's attention. I think that overall the restaurant was very good. I just hope that the service improves."

My visit to this new arrival was
extremely impressive. The entire meal was wonderful and flavorful. The waiters suggestions were on target. Best to try and share dishes so you are able to sample more dishes during your visit. Definitely a restaurant you will want to return to."

small but interesting menu. it's a
little expensive but the space is beautiful and the service is excellent. "

Loved the look but the food
surprised me! Outstanding and definitely coming back for more!"

I'm just getting around to
reviewing this place, as I dined here in the past. The food was great, the atmosphere was hip, but the standout quality of my experience was the service. My server, Logan (I remember his name, because I wrote it down for when I return!) provided me with the best service I've ever received! Warm, friendly, funny and accommodating, he made my experience at The Wayfarer one I will not soon forget. If you only grab a cup of coffee and talk to him, you're in for a treat! Service aside, the chef has composed a lovely menu and everything was cooked perfectly. I plan on this place being shoulder-to-shoulder when I return."

A welcome addition to the W. 57th
Street area. We had a great Saturday morning brunch. The place is beautiful and the food is not only delicious but is very nicely presented. Service was friendly and attentive. I can't wait to go back."
Dined on 3/29/2014
Food was wonderful. Service was
slow and confused. Restaurant is new and it shows. Chef deserves a much more professional front of house. Hopefully they get their act together because the food is definitely worth it. Great location too."

My wife and a friend had been in
NY for 2 days and had been to The Wayfarer twice for dinner in those 2 days and raved about it. Thought it would be nice to try it out for Sunday brunch for all of us (husbands now in tow). We all arrived and were seated. The waiter took our order and then things fell apart. We always had to ask for refills on coffee and water, a table sat down next to us, ordered, ate and left and our food had not come out yet. When the food arrived, two orders were cold and one was missing. We spoke to the hostess and she took care of our concern satisfactorily and also provided us with a new waiter for the rest of our stay. Overall, I think that I would like to go back and try this restaurant again."

After two happy evening
experiences at the new Wayfarer by the new Quin Hotel, one by ourselves and another with out of town guests, we're ready to declare it another new gem (perhaps the shiniest of them all) on 57th Street. The food is excellent and unusually beautifully plated, even for New York: we're especially fond of the linguini with clams, the fried oysters, the cured Tasmanian sea trout, even the french fries); the hosts and bartenders and servers must all have been he honor graduates of some hospitality school somewhere, for--gasp--for some reason everyone knows and remembers your name even if you've only been there twice."
Dined on 3/18/2014
From the hostesses to the
waitstaff, runners, and support staff, the service level at The Wayfarer was outstanding. Water was swiftly refilled, drinks and appetizers promptly delivered. Crumbs and water on the table were whisked away. The attentiveness was not intrusive, but just right. The sommelier was quite approachable and knowledgeable, recommending a terrific pinot noir for my scallops. And yes, the food! Oysters were fresh, icy cold and briny; the enormous shrimp cocktail superb. Scallops were perfectly cooked, and the dover sole rich and buttery. Dessert was even great, a deconstructed "Smore" given a dose of "cool" but with down-home comforting flavor and texture. Ambiance was sleek and warm. Not cheap, but this visit was worth it."
Dined on 3/15/2014
I had heard about this restaurant
from good reviews on social media, newspapers, magazines etc. I couldn't wait to try it out. Reservations were moderately easy to get. The space had been empty for quite awhile and I was waiting for what would open up there. Wayfarer was not a disappointment, it was pretty and had a nice crowd. The food was good and had several options. I would recommend it."
