Established in 1920, The Waverly Inn was reopened in 2006 by Vanity Fair Editor-in-Chief Graydon Carter along with Sean MacPherson and Eric Goode (of the Maritime and Bowery Hotels) and Emil Varda. Tucked into the ground floors of two adjoining townhouses, the dining room's red booths, fireplaces… and low amber lighting provide an attractive and cozy hangout for the city’s best and brightest. "Dinner at the Waverly is an experience. The food is scrumptious. The service is exquisite. The environment is electric. I cannot wait until I return for dinner. Recently, I went to the Waverly for brunch. I will not be returning for brunch. The pizazz that exists at night is absent in the daylight; or was in my case. That being said, a wonderful place to share great wine and food w friends. But I really look forward to my next dinner here!"

"The Waverly Inn fulfilled all expectations. The garden room was charming. It was elegant and a perfect setting for a three generation family dinner, all of which were incredibly delicious and flawlessly presented. The wait staff seemed to know instinctively when we had a question. They were completely at ease as they described and explained the source of the five different kinds of oysters my grandson ordered. They were earnest and patient with me as I took a little time to say whether I would like my salmon medium or medium well-done. There was an air of respect and happy times that all the waiters showed for a table of four generations getting together. I shall long remember and treasure this celebration at the Waverly Inn."

"I went to Waverly Inn to see what all the hype was about, and it definitely reached my expectations (not surpassed). The restaurant has a great atmosphere and the food is very good. Not as expensive as I thought (although not a place to go every night). The wine list is extensive but doesn't offer anything under $70 (if I remember correctly). Coming from Spain, and seeing that the most expensive wine in the list was a Rioja, that's a bit shocking. But you can have a glass as well, so that's ok I guess. The service was outstanding. Overall a great and intimate experience that I wouldn't mind repeating. I recommend booking a table in the "garden". Less noisy, more intimate and a better ambience. Enjoy!"

"I had such high expectations that it was going to be difficult to match. But it really did and even more!
The place is a feast to the eyes, a genuine intimate atmosphere for the spirit. The surprise was that the food accompanied all this.
All was excellent. A hidden gem!

"Fantastic atmosphere and food. Extremely fast service - a little to fast in fact; given the ambiance I wanted to enjoy the wait for my food, but it was served a couple minutes after I ordered it. A tiny bit of wait time would have been lovely ;)"

"Waverly was a great experience. I took my wife for her birthday and we had a great time. Sitting in the Garden was really beautiful and romantic. We both had the specials for dinner, I had a veal chop and it was good not great. Very Salty. My wife had a pasta dish that again was good not great. The wine was very good and service was attentive but perhaps a little snooty.
Overall this is a place you should go to. Nitpicking perhaps, but this is a fair review of our experience at the Waverly Inn."

"This was our second visit to the Waverly Inn for brunch in the last couple of weeks. The garden is beautiful, the food is wonderful, and the wait staff is perfect. It's quiet and pretty and will become our new go-to place for the weekends."
