When I set my reservation I requested that we get the best seat in the house because we were celebrating two birthdays for the night. The restaurant set us up with the premier table as we had the best view in the house.
The food was very good. Great seafood (which you expect at a place on the water) as it was fresh and tasty. But the best part of the evening was definitely the whole ambiance. Our evening at the Waterfront was perfect! It's a really nice "San Francisco view", but unpretentious. It's kinda cool being down amongst the piers and warehouses. Our server, Kelly, was helpful and accommodating at every turn, and everything we ate was very, very good. Even if you are getting sides with your meal, try the Lobster Mac and Cheese for the table. It was the best we've ever eaten! We had Escolar from the "special fish" menu, and it was terrific and beautifully prepared. And don't miss the oysters either! Finally, if you like homemade pasta, their linguini would be tough to top! The menu was wonderful and we sampled several appetizers and main dishes. The Maine lobster risotto was our favorite. The others had various dishes and were all pleased. Great sourdough. The desserts are fabulous. I always have coffee at the end of a meal and the quality of the coffee is a measurement of my satisfaction with the restaurant. Excellent coffee, here. Service was outstanding. We had three efficient staff members waiting on our small party of 4. Good wine. Good food. Good coffee. Good view of the SF Bay. Having eaten there a number of times over the years, we especially wanted to return there to enjoy their wonderful cuisine and excellent service while viewing the new LED light installation on the west span of the Bay Bridge. The animated interplay of the lights throughout the evening was entertaining, and it enhanced the already exceptional view of the bridge, Yerba Buena and Treasure islands and the passing watercraft. The food was ok, not special. But it does provide a great view of the Bay. It is an ideal restaurant if you want a place where you can dine while enjoying the night light show of the Bay Bridge.

I was very pleased with the menu and the full experience. I was prepared for it being just a tourist view restaurant but it was much better than that. It is far enough from the Ferry building that parking was available in the pay lot across the street. My husband had the tuna with roasted artichokes. The tuna was cooked well and was a large portion, however, the artichokes had the hearts removed, so there really wasn't much to them (especially considering the cost). We made our reservation through Open Table with a special request for a view of the New Bay Bridge lights. We were given the corner table on the balcony. The view is spectacular. Our waiter Aaron was very attentive, knowledgeable, and caring. Everyone had a different fish entrée, all of which, were delicious and well presented.
