The Washington HouseHistoric restaurant in SellersvilleWe had another excellent lunch at the Washington House. The menu was imaginative and the food was nicely prepared.6/10/2013 12:00:00 AMNever DisapointsWe have been going to the Washington House for close to 20 years.I don't believe I have ever had a bad meal there. There has been a few minor issues with service but this is one of our go to places for special occasions or to show off the local restaurant quality. They are always trying new things to keep the dining experience fresh. No request seems to be an issue.I believe they could be rated one of the finest restaurants in the southeast part of Pennsylvania.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious entree and dessertI ordered the European crusted chicken. My husband ordered the salmon in phyllo. Both were excellent and beautifully presented. Really mouth-watering! My husband also ordered a very tasty ginger beer called Crabbies. We ordered the flourless chocolate torte to share for dessert. It was creamy and delicious. A great place to celebrate our anniversary!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful dining experienceWonderful place, with or without show tickets! Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Order from main menu or sandwich menu, so price range is surprisingly reasonable.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMOur favorite dinning place,Our favorite dinning place, we travel there every year for our Anniversary.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMexcellent experienceWe received the usual excellence at this wonderful restaurant:--service, food, friendliness of the staff--that we have come to expect over the years.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMCelebrated AnniversaryWe had a great time, service was excellent. Food very good. Great Desert.6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMTook elderly parents for SundayTook elderly parents for Sunday brunch which they throroughly enjoyed and they are tough to please. Good selection, fairly priced plus they had a portable ramp for wheelchair use. Would take them or anyone else again.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Buy For Theater GoersWashington House is the very best option for anyone with tickets to an event at the Sellersville Theater next door. The seasonal menu is a good bargin with an above average selection of daft and bottled beer. Mixed drinks are small for the price tough. There are nightly specials and large sandwiches from the lunch menu available at dinner. Wait staff is very attentive and the kitchen is quick. Events at the theater next door almost never start on time and the place is very laid back. A small group could probably have a dinner reservation as late as 7:00 pm and still be seated next door before the lights go down.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat dinnerGreat dinner as always. Food was wonderful as was the service. We enjoyed the outdoor seating.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMMemorable Anniversary DinnerOur anniversary fell on a warm, pleasant Wednesday evening and while most of the dinners decided to eat outdoors, we opted for air conditioned comfort. We ended up with the place all to ourselves. The food and service were outstanding. All in all, it was a most memorable anniversary dinner. Washington House just might be an anniversary tradition for us. We certainly will return next year (if not sooner).5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMBirthday DinnerWe had an enjoyable dinner as usual. This is a favorite. There was a large private party, so service was a little slower than usual. Still, our meal was beautifully plated and delicious. Always a winner.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMA favorite placeWe have been to Washington House many times for various special occasions, and enjoyed a wonderful meal every time. It is my favorite "nice" restaurant in the area.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMA Great Combo with the SellersvilleI would eat here anytime again although learned about it because of seeing a show at the Sellersville Theater. All 4 of us had a great meal, pricing was as it should be, ambiance was great. A wonderful evening!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMSpecial night outWe returned to the Washington House after our relocation. Tomato/Mozzarella/ Arugula salad was excellent. Crispy Idaho Trout was an ample fish portion, sauteed perfectly and served over wild rice. The side of green beans was served al dente and nearly cold as a result. Caesar salad was heavy on the anchovy paste, rather unbalanced. The twin filets, requested as medium, no red were returned to the kitchen for additional heat. We've had much better meals here and expeced better when spending $86.00. We'll go back, but probably not on Saturday night when the kitchen is busy.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMFormal without the Formal"Fine Dining" may be a stretch, but this is a really great place. Good Food in a great historic atmosphere with a bit of the formal without all of the formality. We enjoyed a great evening of drinks and a great meal. We will go again.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMSmall town quiet, friendly winner. This is a quiet, historically interesting restaurant in an old hotel, nicely decorated in period style, yet casual. The bar was lively and friendly. Our waitress was the ideal combination of efficient and pleasant, and the service could not have been better. Our dinner was well prepared, with fresh. This was our first visit and we will be back. Great spot for before or after a show next door at the Sellersville Theater.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat meal before a concert.Had a couple of HeyDay's white Belgium ales on the patio in the sun. Great beer for a spring afternoon. Very good Calimari and the Coriander and Pepper crusted pork tenderloin was fantastic. The Marsala demi-glace was to die for. The service from the bar to the patio to the table was very good and seamless. Got to say Hello to Mato Naji and his band Indigenous as they ate at the WH before the concert. It was a great time and we will recommend it to our friends and we will be back soon. THANKS5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and nice atmosphere.Great food and nice atmosphere. You can do dinner and theater (sellersville theater) for a very nice eveinng!5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMMom loved it!Wonderful Mother's Day brunch! Mom raved about every course.
So glad we went.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMLives up to its past reviewsOur first visit to Washington House met all our expectations based on feedback from friends and the Open Table website. As predicted, it is very energetic up until show time next door, but becomes quiet and cozy when the theater crowd leaves about 7:30 PM. We chose the veal and salmon entrees and again we were very pleased. The service was great too; we were seated promptly at the time of our reservation and our waitress was very friendly and attentive through the entire dining experience.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAs always our dining experienceAs always our dining experience at the Washington House was wonderful. Would highly recommend.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food, ConsistentlyWe've been here several times and have never been disappointed. The service has always been friendly and attentive. We love the fact they have a seasonal change of menu. We've never ordered anything that we have been disappointed with. We like the historic, quaint ambiance.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat PlaceWe've been going to the Washington House for many years now and still enjoy going there. The owners and staff there are very friendly and the food is excellent. The atmosphere is very relaxing. We will definitely be back..5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistent qualityThe Washington House is a great restaurant to have a quality meal pre or post concert at the Sellersville Theater. We do not live nearby, however, the Washington House is a place I would take a drive to for dinner. The menu is seasonal with ingredients from local farms. The food and presentation is wonderful. Our recent visit had us making "yummy" noises all during each course. Mid to higher price range for dinner. Good beer and wine selection also. Highly recommende and I wish it were closer to us!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat spot for dining before showPerfect experience prior to a Sellersville Theater show.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMWashington HouseGreat restaurant in a very small town next to an outstanding theater. All the food was great and the beer selection is nice. Service was fantastic. Highly recommend.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat niteTook 2 friends who had never experienced the Washington House. They were amazed!! Upon leaving their response was "When can we come back. You now have 4 loyal customers who will return at our earliest convenience !! Thanks for a great evening and a great meal.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMduck two waysduck was excellent. vegetables fresh and perfectly cooked. my friends prime rib was excellent albeit fatty. good food but portions were slightly small for the price. will be back.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMA great restaurant in an oldA great restaurant in an old hotel. Love it! Food and service is great. It's also a great spot to have dinner before seeing a show at the Sellersville Theater 1894 which is right next door, or to get a cocktail and snack after seeing a show.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely nightOur Friday night dinner was wonderful at the Washington House. From the first steps in the door they were very accomodating. They had a microbrew night so we had a nice tasting before dinner. Appetizers were expensive ($6 for soup) but tasty. Dinner menu is not bad a bit limited but the specials help with that. We both had specials and they were both very good. Just enough food for the money though. Any less and we would have been hungry. Dessert was also good not very creative but more traditional desserts. Alll in all a good meal.
Our total bill was over $110 with tip.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMWashington House fits the billWhenever we go to the Sellersville Theater to see a show, we stop next door at the Washingtotn House for a great meal. Then we can just saunter 20 yards to the theater next door ! The food and service are great, and they get you to the show on time. A little pricey, but worth it.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AM2 Restaurants in one?The usually roaring dinner scene on show nights gives way to a romantic hush around 8:00 PM.
Food is always topnotch. Appetizers and desserts should not be missed.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMWashington House ReviewEnjoyed the atmosphere. Sometimes it was hard for me to hear the person next to me because of the noise. All in all a nice dinner.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGREAT PLACE TO GO BEFORE ORGREAT PLACE TO GO BEFORE OR AFTER A SHOW AT THE SELLERSVILLE THEATER. IF WE LIVED CLOSER WE WOULD BE THERE OFTEN. FROM SOUP TO DESSERT EVERYTHING IS ALWAYS PERFECTION.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMA treat to eat on the patioA treat to eat on the patio on a beautiful spring evening. Great specials on the menu; well prepared and presented. The Washington House continues to impress.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food, the dining roomThe food, the dining room and the service was very good and since we were celebrating our wedding anniversary it seemed like the perfect place. However there was a VERY LOUD large party in the dining room next to us which threatened to ruin our dinner. We asked the waitress to close the pocket doors behind us to lessen the noise which she did and saved our evening... ps. try the bread pudding, yummy!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMDate Night OutThis was our first time here as we were headed over to the Sellersville Theater for a show. Everything was really good! It was a bit pricey (a la carte) but it was a date night out! My dinner was delicious, from the salad, the twin filet (cooked perfectly) and bourbon pecan pie! The waitress was new but couldn't have been any nicer or more helpful. Definitely will be back, just wish we lived closer. When we do go again, I think we'll sit outside!4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMAs we live 100 miles away,weAs we live 100 miles away,we only frequent the Washington House when we are attending a show at the Sellersville Theatre. We find ourselves looking forward to the restaurant as much as the show.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMI have been to the WashingtonI have been to the Washington House 4 times since December and each time is a wonderful experience. thank you4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have often used WashingtonWe have often used Washington House in the past few years. Always satisfied with the food and the service. We also use Washington House for a birthday celebration which turned out to be a memorable occasion. The menu satisfied everyone and the service was more than adequate. Our other more private visits have always been rewarding. We will continue to book the Washington House for future dining events.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent! The only issueExcellent! The only issue we had was, we were attending a concert following dinner and told our waitress our schedule prior to ordering. However, they still cut it too close. We had to skip coffee and desert. I believe this was due to a full dining crowd.
This is one of our favorite spots, for dinner.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful selection of AmericanWonderful selection of American cuisine. Clearly a very accomplished chef who knows how to blend flavors perfectly.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMNever a disappointment...Worth theThe Washington House never disappoints. A definite must when attending Sellersville Theatre or just a worthwhile destination for an enjoyable dinner out. Great food, service, atmosphere and so reasonably priced.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMIts uniqueness is in the small-townIts uniqueness is in the small-town atmosphere, old-fashioned building and decor, and new and creative recipe style.

As usual, the food, service, and ambiance were excellent!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThey have a seasonal menuThey have a seasonal menu with a good variety of foods (lamb, duck, chicken, beef, fish, vegetarian dishes...) so there's something for everyone. They're also always willing to accommodate substitutions. The wait staff is superb; they're attentive and courteous but are also interactive and many have fun joking/having conversations with you, which adds to the great experience. It's a great place to go for a night out with friends, romantic dinner, or a family meal.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat expierence , many fineGreat expierence , many fine specials on hand to choose from.Next time I would like to go on a night when there was a concert available. Only complaint was the table size we had for a group of six, could have been larger.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMAlthough the food has a tendencyAlthough the food has a tendency to be overly rich, the quality of ingredients was good and preparations were interesting. Service was sincere and generally on point. The rooms are exactly the throwback we hoped for.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AM
