  • "Dissapointed about service, despite expensive menu. View not the best, finishes outdated."

  • "great food; super setting with 360-view of mid-town"

  • "The outstanding thing about this restaurant was the staff. After that the food is good, the restaurant is dated and there really is not much of a view with all the buildings nearby. I am a native New Yorker, so I am used to high prices, however cost at dining here is little too much. You could spend the same money at better restaurants, rooftops included."

  • "Glad we went to The View during restaurant week because it felt like a reasonably good deal at $38 per person for three courses. The service was friendly and efficient, and the food was decent. The view isn't all that memorable because of the taller buildings in the area. Next time we'll try to go at night, and check out the lounge, which is located just one floor below the restaurant."

  • "My husband and I were really excited to try this restaurant for a romantic night out. Our server ruined it for us. He was rude and distracted through out the night. He would never make eye contact when we would ask him questions and never really answered our questions, he was always looking at someone else and smiling or laughing. We also felt rushed. Our server ruined the experience for us, we will never go back. The food was good but the mixed drinks were way over priced."

  • "The draw is clearly the view, high above Manhattan, but the food was excellent as well! Couldn't be happier. What a lovely evening. Would definitely recommend this Restaurant!"

  • "This is a place you go one time. Its draw is the revolving resturant. Food was good, service was poor and slow, the view is mixed , Great to see all the buildings in NYC but when you look down you see a lot of big commercial air conditioners."

  • "Wonderful service and food. The view was spectacular. Every detail was covered including a birthday cake when I mentioned in my reservation we were celebrating. Drink prices were a little steep but food was great."

  • "A very well planned out brunch buffet. Something to please every taste bud. Staff is friendly and very willing to please. I celebrated my Birthday and the staff treated me and my guests like royality. A relaxed and pleasant setting. Well worth the price."

  • "Really amazing view, and the restaurants rotates! Unfortunately It would be smarter to buy a ticket for the empire state building and walk around the top twice instead of having dinner at THE VIEW. The Staff (except for waitress) behaved as if you were just another one of those annoying guests upon entry. The menu is very limited en way way WAY to expensive for what it offers. 350 USD for two adults and a kid. (not even wine) Food was ok but worth half the money.Believe me when I say I am not just a person who like to write these kind of bad reviews... just a warning. For the view its a yes... but you pay a fortune for just a view."

  • "The location of the restaurant is on top of Marriott Hotel at Time Square, with the construction it is not easy to find, ask for help. The desk will get you the code to the elevator. Check in at desk is a bit confusing at one level them stairs the next. The table location was great, waiter was excellent in service and recommendations for dinner. Order a bottle of wine (on special and was upgraded, great wine. The menu is two price choices of three courses, we choose the high end $84. Per person. We had pork bellies and crab cakes appetizer and lamb and fish special, dessert were great. I would recommend."

  • "The atmosphere and view was great. The food was good but it was average."

  • "The restaurant is nicely located, however, you could only see buildings blocking most view. This was okay too. However, the server had a block on his shoulder when we requested the restaurant week menu. Theguy helping him was way more friendly. The food was decent but the dessert was awesome. Good portion size."

  • "Restaurant is rotating 360° ok but the outside view is not so great (rooftops and external wall/windows..) Food is not very impressive, the 'foie gras' for exemple was a kind of foam.. the bill however hurts for what you get."

  • "To celebrate my birthday, my husband and I ate here with our fourteen-year-old granddaughter who was visiting from Israel. The ride up in the bullet-shaped elevator was a real thrill as was the view of Manhattan from the revolving restaurant. Even if the food and service had been bad, we all would have enjoyed ourselves--but both the food and service were spectacular! The fact that we were getting Restaurant Week prices made the experience even better. I highly recommend the flat iron steak, which normally is not a cut that is good, as well as the sea bass. The chocolate cake with raspberries (given to me for free in honor of my birthday) was fabulous also."

  • "Ate here for Restaurant Week - was very disappointed with the service from start to finish - and the food was very average. Good tourist attraction and worth going once for the experience only."

  • "The food does not compare to other restaurants at the same price point, but no other restaurant boasts this view. Do this place at least once in your life. It is worth it for that, but I would recommend going to the $38 buffet which is one floor above the formal dining room. The view is even better on this floor and the buffet is better than the food you get in the restaurant. At least you can see what you would get and choose knowingly. They have a chocolate fountain on the buffet as well. Kids would LOVE it."

  • "My hotel has a beautiful view of the water and 100's of buildings. Thew View however is a rotating restaurant INSIDE of a square building that has windows and walls - and they put their service areas on the rotating part so you can really only see 90 degree views if that - they do put mirrors on the walls to give the appearance of expansive views - but its not the same. Additionally, you cross by a solid wall, see tons of AC vents on the tops of roofs, peer into lots of hotel rooms a the W hotel with people in their beds, and have 2 spots where there is a view to speak of (one of which you need to stand up to look down and see). The View is better on the ground in Times Square. Skip this for the 1000's of other great restaurants in NYC."

  • "Took advantage of The View restaurant for Sunday Brunch with the family. The View and the view itself certainly did not disappoint. Good food and very good service. The staff were a credit to the restaurant, and have already recommended to other friends. What a great way to experience the Manhattan skyline from the very heart of it, as the restaurant revolved and gave one a unique way to enjoy the skyscrapers of New York."

  • "The scenic view is very good, of course, but the restaturant itself and the food need improvement. The restaurant looks dated. The food was good, but not great and overpriced, even by NYC standards."

  • "Had way too high expectations to this restaurant. The last two days i have had dinner at hakkasan, del frisco's og del massaria. Those three restaurants were all better and cheaper than the View. I booked a table at the View almost three months early, but still i had to wait 30 minutes for my table!!!???"

  • "Excellent view of New York City. I enjoyed trying to find various buildings using the map on the napkin. We enjoyed watching the sunset as the restaurant revolved around."

  • "As the only revolving restaurant in New York City, it certainly has a wow factor. However it's not just its unique novelty value that makes this place great. On the evening that my wife and I dined there, the food was very good and not too expensive, the wine selection appealed to all types, including non-wine connoisseurs, and the service was excellent. I particularly recommend timing your meal for sunset, because watching this from ever-changing viewpoints is truly spectacular. Five star!"

  • "Could not fault the food as it was very nice and the service was good. However, this restaurant is way over priced for what it is. As nice as the meal was, a similarly nice meal could have been had elsewhere for half the price. This may explain why the restaurant was very empty on our visit. The views during the revolution were good and this is why I think this retaurant feels it can grossly over charge. Lower the prices and people will come !! Don't even get me started on the lounge upstairs which we visited after our meal. Poor service & an $8 cover charge per person which I refused to pay. This establishment could thrive if it weren't so pretentious."

  • "My girlfriend and I went to The View on our vacation in New York to celebrate our 2nd anniversary. Even though the food was delicious and the actual was spectacular and romantic our experience was unfortunately overshadowed by the fact that a guy at the table next to us was so incredibly loud that it was impossible to keep or even start a conversation. We literally felt that we were part of his dinner party, but without being able to get a word in. The waiter told us that Mr. Loud was an executive at the hotel so unfortunately there was nothing he could say to him. So before going keep in mind that there is a fixed hierarchy and even though you put down 300-400 dollars for a dinner you're obviously in the bottom of said hierarchy."
