  • "Lovely meal as always. Service a little slow. But still enjoyed it. Great salad starter. Super view."

  • "Went at night for the revolving restaurant and loved the food and views Highly recommended."

  • "A really lovely brunch, food delicious (especially the pancakes made to order). Staff very friendly and helpful, had a great window view of New York that constantly changed :-) I would defiantly recommend the experience especially for a celebration."

  • "Considering the name of this restaraunt "The View", it was very disappointing to find the view was really quite poor. It is blocked by the outside structure and really not worth it unless you like looking at sides of the bigger buildings that surround it. The food was ok but nothing special."

  • "This place is outstanding. And the best part: neither New Yorkers nor tourists know it exists, even though it's in the heart of Times Square with a revolving panoramic view of the whole city. The buffet was fantastic, and totally worth the splurge: omelette bar, chef making customized fresh pancakes, dessert bar with 20+ desserts and chocolate fountain, salmon, chicken, freshly cut steak with a variety of sauces, a pasta dish, 10+ types of salads, a European bar (with a wide assortment of cheeses, meats and jams), fresh veggies to make your own salad or to add to any of the other dishes.... Needless to say, it was phenomenal. And the coffee was delicious."

  • "The view at the View is spectacular but the food and the service are lacking. The service was slow at first but once the food service began it was like a rush to bring out the set menu items to allow the wait staff to go home. My filet was tasteless. The waiter announced that he had added the set 18% to the tab even though the menu had that requirement for parties of 6 or more. We had 4. A real disappointment for a 45th anniversary dinner. Go to the Top of the Rock for the view and dine at Carmine's."

  • "The food and service was great. Not much of a view! The restaurant is over looking the roof of the hotel. We were basically looking at people in the other buildings working in there offices. Overall still a great place to dine but no view"

  • "Very very very very expensive ! While the food wasn't as good as the bill was so expensive ! Foie gras ? Never eated such a "paté"... It's abnormal to have only one menu. We should be able to choose our diner, with or not starter or desert. As we call it in France "un piège à touristes" (a tourist's trap)"

  • "I took my fiancée to The View for her birthday and it was such an amazing experience. The staff was very nice and professional. We had a reservation and we had to wait just about five minutes to be seated. But we did have a window seat and that 360 degrees view was well worth it. The food was absolutely delicious and our server was very pleasant. I highly recommend the crab cake for appetizer and the lamb was also really good. I'd definitely dine at The View again."

  • "a three person table for a couple against a wait of 30 minutes: what is your reservation if I have to wait anyway? we were forced to talk out loud in a romantic dinner for the distance between people"

  • "The spot is good to invite your relatives visiting from other countries - to impress them with a Manhattan view and prices. As for food, there is nothing to mention, although it's good, the quality of an average good restaurant."
    Dined on 8/21/2014
  • "The view at this restaurant was amazing. My son and I shared a steak and my mom ordered the salmon-which was delicious! As you enjoy your food the outer rim is slowly moving around and you eventually see all the buildings that surround this restaurant. It's kid friendly as well but they do not have a kids menu. The staff worked with us on that-very much appreciated!"

  • "We had a wonderful dinner. It was my niece's 17th birthday and we had dinner then a show. Our service was great and very helpful. However, when I first arrived it was 5:25 and my reservations were for 5:30 and no one was at the desk and workers walked by us like we were not even there, or even acknowledged us, I felt this was rude. Once we sat down the food and service was great."

  • "The food was great, but definitely too expensive for these little portions. We left the restaurant hungry. The service was very friendly at first. Until we refused to give a tip of 20%, which he has added to our check amd changed it to 10%. From that moment on, the waiter got really rude. We often go to high quality restaurants, but we never experienced a behaving like this."

  • "To expansive for the quality of the food, but the view on NY was breath takinng!"

  • "My family loves The View for special occasions, particularly the Sunday brunch buffet. (It's also a great late-night spot if you're looking for drinks and a fabulous dessert bar.) The brunch offers extensive choices--the usual breakfast dishes like eggs, french toast, bacon, unusually good sausages; made-to-order omelets; a nice array of salads, breads, and muffins; bagels and lox; cheeses and cold cuts; a carving station; and a lavish display of desserts--plus two mimosas for each adult and of course coffee. We especially like it for the atmosphere: a revolving view of Manhattan, big comfortable round tables; quiet enough for conversation. We'll be back."

  • "We'd traveled 500 miles to spend 4 days in NYC for an anniversary celebration and selected The View as our final stop before heading back to the airport. We thought it would be a good recap to see the skyline one final time. We were not disappointed. The view was lovely and ever changing. The buffet was terrific, divided into three sections -- entrees, salads and side dishes, and sweets. That kept the lines very manageable and made it easier to see the options. The salmon with passionfruit sauce was particularly tasty, as were the eggs Florentine. The lobster and crab shooters made a fun presentation in addition to being delicious. Service was top-notch as well. All in all, a wonderful experience."

  • "Both food and service was terrible. So sad we choose to have a our anniversary dinner here. We left so disappointed. Only positive was a great view. I would skip the fancy, butter drenched prix fixed menu and stay in the lounge if you want the view. But get there before 8pm or u will be charged $8 pp just for being there by the hotel."

  • "I did not know this place existed, but the views are spectacular! The food was alright, but the scenery more than makes up for it. Would highly recommend!"

  • "The view of the city is tremendous. There are higher but the leisurely panorama was perfect."
    Dined on 8/16/2014
  • "Don't expect your steak to be as your ordered it, your lobster to be cooked properly or for it to only cost the advertised price. It is just a hook to get you in. The view is from half way up, so if you are lucky and don't blink, you might see the Empire State bldg, and you can catch the top of the Chrysler bldg, but don't set your expectations too high. You will be disappointed."

  • "One word: AMAZING! We made a reservation for 9:30pm and though we arrived a few mins. late, we didn't wait long to be seated. The hostess was very accommodating when we asked to be seated by the windows, and I'm so glad we did. The views are BEAUTIFUL! And yes, the restaurant does rotate, you can kind of feel it too. It was a great experience! As for the food, the restaurant did not disappoint. We ordered from the Restaurant Week menu and everything was delicious. We also had a bottle of wine which had us VERY happy by the end of our night. I really recommend this spot for special occasions, or even if you want to treat yourself one day. Good food, good drinks, great service and even better views!"

  • "We took advantage of restaurant week and dined at The View on our 16th anniversary. I made a note in my open table reservation n requested a window table. The matre d acknowledged our reservation when we arrived and sat us at a window table as requested. The meal was delicious and the portions were good. Our waiter was very attentive even tho it was a very busy night. I highly recommend this location especially if you're celebrating something special!!!"

  • "I had my 50-th birthday dinner at the View on Aug 15-th. I had" restaurant week dinner" with my husband. I was nervous at the beginning because I read a lot of bad comments about the waiters attitude towards people who choose this option. We had a good time and great waiter. The food was fine ,but the portions were very small. I was a little hungry after the three -course dinner. Because it was my birthday ,I got a small cake as a celebration from the restaurant, which was very tasty and a nice gesture. The view is so-so ,I expected a little more " wow".. Overall we had a nice time ."

  • "Dined with my friend for her first time in NY. Said I'd treat her. Food was lovely, service by waiters was very attentive. Everything ran smoothly with everyone performing their job with professionalism and ease. Views exceptional, comfortable and very enjoyable night. If I can persuade my husband, I'll definitely return on my next New York trip. Thank you."

  • "After seeing the reviews on Yelp, I did not have high expectations. Many people complained of the food and service. I must have been lucky because my server was great and the food was actually pretty good. The view was a little disappointing because you are separated by a window and another wall/window outside which made it hard to get a gooooood view. Overall, I was satisfied with this place. I would recommend to go during Restaurant Week or on special occasions."
