  • "Wonderful experience…. not too much to say. Everything was perfect."

  • "Food was good, but not for the price, is so expensive and the restaurant inside is simple, for the price I thought was luxury, but not, I have disappoitment about it. the building is nice but no inside the restaurant. I wanna say to my friends go just to the bar, spend a few cups to drinks over there and thats it."

  • "I chose The View for a special treat for my daughter's 21st birthday meal during our visit to New York. The views were amazing (the main reason for choosing it) so it did not disappoint. The food was good, although not as fantastic as I had hoped or the price suggested. It was beautifully presented though and we were surprised with a special desert for my daughter, which was a nice touch. I have certainly had nicer and for far less money but it was a special evening nevertheless and at the end of the day we dined in New York with those spectacular views so I am pleased with the choice and glad we went. The service was good to, fairly slow as it was very busy but we were happy not to be rushed. I would recommend to go."

  • "We came here for our 10th wedding anniversary. What more could you ask outstanding food, exceptional service from very friendly staff who made us feel extra special with a 360 degree view over New York thrown in. A wonderful experience."

  • "We came to The View, on a recommendation, for my daughter's 21st birthday meal. The ever-changing views across the city are spectacular, the staff were very attentive, food was delicious and beautifully presented. Would definitely recommend for a special occasion."

  • "I took my wife there to celebrate her birthday and she absolutely loved it! We had a great time. The food was very good, service was excellent and oh the nightime view of the city was breathtaking! We got a window view and was fascinated at the marvels of architecture as we watched the restaurant slowly rotating while we dined! Amazing...do go visit!"

  • "The food, and of course the view, we're very good. The service was not so good. They couldn't find our reservation (and later told OpenTable that we did not show) and seemed to resent we were there. We then spent most of the meal trying to get the attention of our waiters to place orders, get drink refills, or pay. But the view is good. "

  • "Was very much looking forward to dining here and positively the food was fabulous and the views terrific. What really lets this place down is the service. It's like because the restaurent has good views they don't have to make an effort. We had to ask twice for drinks, and waited an absolute age for someone to take our orders for desert. Our waiters were pleasant, but when the standard procedure is to add 18% gratuity to a bill of $550 for 4 people, I would expect not to have to keep waving at the waiters to be noticed! I have no objection to tipping and tipping well when service is good, but you get the feeling here that the waiters here assume that 18% is going to be paid regardless of any service! Very very disappointing unfortunately. "

  • "My daughter and I really enjoyed our dining experience at The View before the theatre. The restaurant is beautiful and the views are spectacular. The service was excellent! Our waiter saw we did not want for anything! I would most definitely come to The View again. "

  • "This restaurant is great for a special occasion where you want to see all the lights of NY. However there is no kids menu and only set courses which makes it very restricting. On the night we went it was excessively hot in the restaurant and made for an unpleasant experience plus the tip was automatically added to the bill which I thought was not acceptable given the excessively hot temperature and average service."

  • "It would be great if one could reserve not just a table but a table by the window. Not sure why the reservation policies require this gamble. Especially guests who have been planning their "special" dinner for a while are likely to be disappointed if they end up in the second row. (And yes, you can see the view from second row, but you feel like you are constantly looking at the folks seated there...) So: great - if you are lucky."

  • "We came to the View because I have been there many times over the years and it has never failed to impress. I brought my son and his new fiancee. The staff joined in the spirit of congratulations, which was sweet. The food was good as always. But the service was pitifully slow. We were there for over two and a half hours. And not because we wanted to be. And in defence of the staff, it was not through any fault of theirs. There just weren't enough of them. This restaurant charges enough to be better staffed. I've waitressed and I know of what I speak. Ellen's Stardust Diner on Broadway has three times the staff at a third of the price. It is also a memorable experience.I will come back someday in the hopes of seeing an improvement."

  • "I loved the ambiance and food my main but reason to dine at View is to enjoy fabulous Manhattan skyline I was very disappointed many new skyscrapers are obstructing panoramic scenery I did not wanted to look into windows of other tall buildings around us."

  • "The waiter added tips himself - 18%. That is ridiculous! It is not tips if you add Them yourself."

  • "My Boyfriend was celebrating a special Birthday so I planned a special weekend in Manhattan.Haven't been to the View in many years & remember it being a lovely place for a Special Occasion. This time, unfortunately,it did not meet our expectations. Our table wasn"t ready so we were asked to wait in the lounge. Before our drinks were served, our pager went off.had to wait to pay the very pricey bill for 2 basic cocktails. Our table for 2 was sandwiched between 2 large parties of about 16 people each,Young, vibrant and loud sports teams. Our waiter, obviously distracted, was barely there, and I realized later, that I didn't have an opportunity to ask him to take a picture,as planned. The meal was adequate,& not the quality one would expect for the price."

  • "The place is a must for those wanting to experience the great views of New York while sitting eating dinner -as it revolves you get to see all the sights of the skyline -most of the time you dont realise you are moving until you look up and the landscape has changed-our dining experience was great and only overshadowed by one of our parties main course being forgottenby the kitchen and arrived too late to be eaten -the serving staff could not have been more apologetic and made up for this by offering our wine to be complimentry and giving us a souvenier glass and providing a birthday cake-they did their best to make up for it , if you are of a faint heart the speed of the lifts getting you up 60 odd floors may not be to your liking"

  • "Food was good, but for the price I expected more of a fine dining experience. Service was nothing more than I'd get at a Fridays or chili's. Friendly waiter but very casual."
    Dined on 4/12/2014
  • "Dined with my family from out of town. Let me say that the only thing that was at all worthwhile was the view. Service and food were below average at any price point but for a prix fix menu at 84.00 per person it was insulting. It was so hot that the butter was melting in the table. There was no attempt to mitigate this by anyone just a shrug and we didnt know it would be warm today. Obviously no one is intwrested in repeat business. What a shame..."

  • "My expectations were low - a revolving restaurant with amazing views suggests that maybe the food and service might be low on the list of priorities at this venue. Far from it - great food - great drinks and a wonderful evening was had by all."
    Dined on 4/12/2014
  • "We went to The View for no particular occasion but just to go to a nicer restaurant while we were in town and we loved it. The service, food and view were great. Our only complaint was that they were having problems with their generator so it was exceptionally hot while we were eating. However, midway through our dinner it started to cool down and to compensate us the waiter brought us an extra dessert, at no cost. We'd definetely recommend this restaurant and would dine with them again."

  • "I have been taking my parents here for years as they absolutely adore this restaurant and the View is SPECTACULAR. The food is actually very, very good and on par with some of the best restaurants in the City. The bar area is very touristy and to be avoided. While the restaurant is filled with tourists, it never feels touristy. It is such an incredible way to see the City and really shows one how big NYC is. Perfect pre-theatre restaurant for a truly special occassion. I LOVE IT!"

  • "Not worth the money. Average food for expensive price"

  • "This is a unique destination restaurant. The revolving venue is a little disconcerting, as your location keeps changing when you go to the buffet to get your selections . Leaving your coat on the third floor and then going up to the venue is a little troublesome also, as I found it chilly, and regretted that I did not have my coat. I recommend that ladies wear a suit or sweater and keep it with them. The service is easy, as they only bring drinks, coffee, tea and wines to the table. But the waiters were always ready to meet any needs of the diners for those. The food takes center stage. We came for the Sunday brunch. I can not think of anything I have ever seen served for brunch that was not present on the buffet table, and more."

  • "Our waiter, Luis, was full of verve and energy. We booked a seven-o'clock table to entertain visiting friends. We enjoyed the appetizers. By the time the steaks arrived over an hour had passed and the smallest boy was asleep. We were not able to wait for dessert (included in the price). The cost of $710.00 (servis compris) seemed a bit steep given the wait we suffered. The following evening the same six of us dined at Peter Luger in hip Brooklyn where we managed to have dessert and finish up in an hour-and-a-half. (cost inc. tip: $460.00). There was no view; but…. there was no wait."

  • "Great over view over the city, one of the 3 appetizers was wrong. One appetizer was nice, two otters were poor. Amin course was ok, but not worth his money. Desserts were fine. Service was very poor, and not worth the gratuity of 18%, at all. So, go there for a drink at the bar, and enjoy the view (and the ride with the elevator), but not the food or the service."

  • "Friendly staff, ' excellent food, smooth wine , brilliant views. Tender Octopus starter ,wild boar main and all the desserts looked delicious. Mine was melt in the mouth especially the sorbet , hubby had the Crab cake, beef fillet & NY cheesecake so we had half of each dessert as both were to die for. The views were stunning and our waiter originally from Italy and the cruise ships ( hubby managers ships) was a mine of information. What more can I say? We loved the whole experience. Next time we are bring friends."

  • "A restaurant which is nice for the view. However you pay way too much, for dinner, $ 84 for a three course dinner. Service is ok and so was the personnel but you should be able to choose for a smaller menu. Overall at the end of the evening you get a feeling you paid way to much for the dinner."

  • "I went to The View for my sixteenth birthday with a few of my friends. We absolutely loved the food and my friends llved that it was a buffet. It was an amazing brunch with a huge selection, ranging from pastries to salads. I also speciially ordered a birthday cake for the occassion and it was fantastic. The view was breathtaking and my friends were surprised that we were revolving and told me i definitely had the best sweet 16 than all the other girls. I would definitely come here again!"

  • "A great restaurant for that special occasion, although it is over priced. Magnificant views and food very good."

  • "The view is good. That is all. Even then you spend a lot of time looking at aircon units, and wondering why certain areas are cleaned and others so dirty/dusty. Service slow and surly. Prices are astronomical for wine (although wine was very good). Whole menu overpriced. My husband chose a side instead of a starter he was so underwhelmed. I had a tortelloni that was like slops served in a school/hospital/prison. As a vegetarian you get 5 of the sides. SERIOUSLY?? All oversalty, some root veg undercooked. Just not acceptable at all. My husband's main - chicken - was so salty, surely the chef must have slipped. The waiter took it away and said he'd look into, but never apologised and never came back with an explanation."
    Dined on 4/6/2014
  • "The only reason to book a table at the view would be the view. All the rest is overpriced and they definitely need a new chef. Dried out crabcake, average wine suggestions, small portions. The location might impress some, so complaints are low. However we strongly recommend Hilton management to change the restaurants leadership."

  • "The only rotating restaurant in New York really deserves the name The View. Other than that the staff is attentive, the food is really good, the portions are more haute cuisine than American. All in all a really special experience but rather pricey. 85 for the 3 course menu. A bottle of water is 10 and 18% gratitude comes mandatory. Makes it 250 for a couple's dinner without wine."

  • "My wife and I recently had dinner at The View while visiting New York. We had dinner prior to going to the theater. There was an excellent wine menu and the view of the city. Our server was Frank. He did an adequate job, but unfortaunately, after he took our order, we did not see much of him. When the food arrived, it looked delicious. However, 3 of the 4 of us had steaks that were over cooked. No one came to ask about the meal until it was too late to send them back. Then, when the bill came, the restaurant had automatically added the tip of their choosing to the bill. It was certainly more than I would have left given the service and the overcooked meat. I would not plan to visit the View on my next trip to NY."
