Be sure to make reservations for this restaurant. The food was delicious! Our waiters were attentive and fun. We especially liked Raymond (such a funny guy). This restaurant is a bit pricey, but well worth it. The city views are amazing. You don't necessarily need a window seat as the view is wide open from all directions.

If you time it right, you can see the city in daylight and at night. We arrived about 6:30, sunset was ~7, dinner was done around 8. We were able to see the city in the daytime, sunset, then the beautiful lights at night. Awesome experience! And the food was excellent as well... not 5*, but a solid 4.35*:)

A dinner at this location is a must for your visit in NYC. Tasty food (center cut tenderloin was wonderful!), good choice of wines and drinks, great romantic ambiance, very kind and attentive service. The view was amazing and our guests were thrilled by the restaurant rotating. The prices are absolutely ok for NYC.

The food was good, the meat excellent. I booked the restaurant from Itali a week in advance. When we saw the location we were astonished, the restaurant is at the top of the Marriott hotel in Times Sq. The View is amazing. And there's also an Italian waiter, really friendly and welcoming.

Booked this from the UK weeks ago for my wife's 50th birthday, so was taking a gamble as to whether A. They had us booked even though we had a booking reference B. We got a window table, C. It was as good as it said it was. Well it's YES to all ov the above. We were booked. We had a table by the window/view. And was great in every way, they even rememberd it was Jacqu's birthday. Food great wine brilliant service very slick & friendly. Was expensive but well worth for a special occasion. Pays to pre-book as we did, as you just sail past the long non booked queue to your table. And yes the restaurant does revolve & is spectacular by night. Would recommend if your on a holiday in Time Square as we are. It's a real treat.

I was so disappointed at the service, the food and the price. The restaurant wasn't very crowded and the service was lousy. For what they charge (and it's absolutely ridiculous even for New York) you would think the food would have been superb. It was lousy. I had the sea bass and it was very dry and tasteless. They brag about the view but all you can see are the tops of buildings. Not impressed at all. There are much better places in NYC to eat and not get ripped off.

I still prefer buffet brunches with or without a view. But The View has both a very good brunch with great views. Haven't been to a revolving restaurant in more than 30 years when they were all the rage. It was very nice, not sure why they went out of style. The food was very good, the hot table and omelet stand exceptional. All in all a very good value considering the location in Times Square, NYC

We were skeptical about going to the View after reading many reviews, but let me tell you it was worth every penny!!!!! The waiter was amazing and proactive to our every wish or desire. Our group of eight had three that have very serious food allergies including Gluten. The waiter brought us a list that included all the contents and possible allergy to each dish. It was clear and they were so willing to accommodate any changes to the wonderful existing menu. The appetizer was lovely, the main dish amazing and dessert to die for! The wine selections were very nice and I am a bit picky there! A wonderful after theater dinner, relaxing, and we celebrated an anniversary and job promotion. Could not imagine better!

After 6 years living in NY, I've came back as a tourist. I made a reservation asking for a romantic table by the window. I did not get a table by the window which was a big disappointment for me. Over all was nice but over pricy in my opinion (I ate in better places for that price).

We apreciated the diner very much. Of course it is very expensive as we pay for the view. But we have been very well welcome with a nice attention for our wedding aniversary. The cocktails, wine and food were good. To go to the restaurant the elevator already is an experience. We stayed for a little more than 2 hours so we did 2 rotations. It was night time and the view was enjoyable.

I thought I did my research but it seems because I had a reservation I got the pre-fix menu. Apparently without a reservation you get a regular menu. so for my $12 year old daughter and I it was $84 per person plus drinks and tip. Now I know this is NYC but I thought this was a bit much. The food was good and the service was excellent but we did not need a pre-fix meal. I felt taken advantage of. the view and experience was wonderful but they could do a nice menu (expensive even) that didn't feel like a rip off. while we were there several tables got up and left.

Restaurant did a great job with my boyfriend's birthday. I gave them a heads up when I made the reservation and the employees all said happy birthday and even made a special dessert for him. We both had an excellent time, it's definitely something worth trying while in NYC. Also best idea is to make a reservation to guarantee a window table.

Spectacular view especially on an evening with a full moon and the Chrysler building in the same view. Service very friendly and warm. (Pietyr?) Food average. Very very poor service but the food was very good. Waiters not very helpful and brought the courses at different times . A strange one is that the free entrance bar is higher that the restaurant so the views are much better from the bar area , my advice would be to have a drink in the bar and go else where for food

This was first trip to New York and US for myself and my wife for our 20th wedding anniversary and The View Restaurant was recommended for the view over Manhattan at night. Being a special occasion we decided to make a reservation in the restaurant for 8pm. We were under the impression that for 2 people we automatically got an outside the rim table but were told on arrival that none of these were available and should we wish to wait they would buzz us on the buzzer. Half an hour later we got our table. We both felt the food was nothing special, wouldn't eat there again ourselves and certainly wouldn't recommend to anyone. The service was extremely good. We felt the view only went 180 deg back and forth as we never saw the Chrysler building.

We have been in The View in 2000 and it was a great experience. But going back there 14 years after was a great delusion. The only thing that has not changed was the rotating scenery and that's hard to loose. The food wasn't really good and moreover for that price in New York one can be served quite well. The staff was ok but kind of can't help for the shortages. Still though if you want to enjoy e scenic view of the city with the company of some drinks it can be enjoyable. After all it is one of a kind in NYC.

The View is a gem of a find. Not easily located at the top of the Marriott Hotel in Times Square once you find your way to this revolving treasure and experience the excellent service, high quality food and spectacular 360 degree New York panorama you'll want to go back. It's not cheap by any means but it's the drinks that can increase the bill rather than the set menu. It was a fantastic way for us to finish our trip and I look forward to doing it again. If you don't fancy dinner then just enjoy the cocktails!
