  • "The restaurant has a beautiful view on the city and its buildings, the service is attentioned, the dishes are well presented. But the food could be tastier for this kind of place. Nonetheless, we had a very good moment!"

  • "It was a wonderful moment, out of time.We didn't wait for our table. Every table is well placed. The food was good, simple, but well cooked. Sometimes, it was difficult to communicate with the waiter. We'll learn more english before coming back. The desserts where unforgettable!"

  • "I booked this restaurant for me and my girlfriend after a friend suggested it was a a unique experince. The food, service was excellent but the views were amazing and was so romantic i proposed to my girlfriend here instead of an original choice. It finished our amazing trip visit to New York and I would defiantly return to the View everytime we visit New York, this would the case without the views of the city due to the top quality food and services we recieved, also we were even treated to a glass of champagne each on the house as a gesture from the waiter for our engagement. The fact this restaurant revolves around and the views are breath taking, makes the view restauranut a truly unique experince."

  • "The ambiance was very good - the view of NY and Times Square was excellent. The service was excellent - the waiters & waitresses were excellent - if you are a tourist I would say you really need to dine here - Sadly, the food was at best mediocre - the prawns my son and I ordered were not very good. My steak was like shoe leather. All in all, still a good experience. I expected a nice place with a great view and mediocre food and my expectations were met."

  • "This restaurant is everything they have raved about & more. I reserved dinner before the sunset so we got to see the beautiful views before & after dark. The waiters are wonderful. When reserving put a special request in for window seating. They honored my request. Skip the very long Empire State Building line & just sit & relax here eating while moving 360 taking in the beautiful views of NYC"

  • "I would recommend for any occasion. I was traveling with 2 preteen boys. At first I was concerned about a planned 2 hour meal and second the adult menu. My conerns were quickly addressed with a wondeful staff. All had a fabulous time with an outstanding meal and a lot of fun lookng out at NYC. We watched a beautiful sunset over the Hudson River. "

  • "Eating sixty eight floors above Times Square and watching the city pass you by as you eat was definitely an experience not to miss. Watching the changing night lights and city scape was breathtaking, coupled with an excellent meal made our trip to New York a memorable one. The food was excellent and the service exceptional. Overall, well worth the effort and the money."

  • "The view is amazing you can see all of manhattan. The food is great but its really the amazing view your paying for. Expensive and tiny portions. The service was excellant and the drinks are good too. I would reccomend going before sunset so you get to watch the sunset over nyc. Amazing view!!!"

  • "Food was good, but not for the price, is so expensive and the restaurant inside is simple, for the price I thought was luxury, but not, I have disappoitment about it. the building is nice but no inside the restaurant. I wanna say to my friends go just to the bar, spend a few cups to drinks over there and thats it."

  • "I chose The View for a special treat for my daughter's 21st birthday meal during our visit to New York. The views were amazing (the main reason for choosing it) so it did not disappoint. The food was good, although not as fantastic as I had hoped or the price suggested. It was beautifully presented though and we were surprised with a special desert for my daughter, which was a nice touch. I have certainly had nicer and for far less money but it was a special evening nevertheless and at the end of the day we dined in New York with those spectacular views so I am pleased with the choice and glad we went. The service was good to, fairly slow as it was very busy but we were happy not to be rushed. I would recommend to go."

  • "We came here for our 10th wedding anniversary. What more could you ask outstanding food, exceptional service from very friendly staff who made us feel extra special with a 360 degree view over New York thrown in. A wonderful experience."

  • "The service is incredibly slow: we spent 2 and a half hours for a 3 course meal. The food is subpar. I ordered a very simple tenderloin that was dry. Even getting there is a frustrating experience. There are no signs at the 2nd floor and the host on the 3rd was rude. With tip and wine we paid $150/person which is incredibly overpriced. This place just seems a machine to drain money from tourists. If you want views go to any sky rise then dine at a good restaurant, not here."

  • "We came to The View, on a recommendation, for my daughter's 21st birthday meal. The ever-changing views across the city are spectacular, the staff were very attentive, food was delicious and beautifully presented. Would definitely recommend for a special occasion."

  • "The prix fix menu was $84 - the food was plain and heavy. Service was abismal! The worst experience in years, I was embarrassed that I brought my Irish friends to this awful place "

  • "I took my wife there to celebrate her birthday and she absolutely loved it! We had a great time. The food was very good, service was excellent and oh the nightime view of the city was breathtaking! We got a window view and was fascinated at the marvels of architecture as we watched the restaurant slowly rotating while we dined! Amazing...do go visit!"

  • "The food, and of course the view, we're very good. The service was not so good. They couldn't find our reservation (and later told OpenTable that we did not show) and seemed to resent we were there. We then spent most of the meal trying to get the attention of our waiters to place orders, get drink refills, or pay. But the view is good. "

  • "Was very much looking forward to dining here and positively the food was fabulous and the views terrific. What really lets this place down is the service. It's like because the restaurent has good views they don't have to make an effort. We had to ask twice for drinks, and waited an absolute age for someone to take our orders for desert. Our waiters were pleasant, but when the standard procedure is to add 18% gratuity to a bill of $550 for 4 people, I would expect not to have to keep waving at the waiters to be noticed! I have no objection to tipping and tipping well when service is good, but you get the feeling here that the waiters here assume that 18% is going to be paid regardless of any service! Very very disappointing unfortunately. "

  • "My daughter and I really enjoyed our dining experience at The View before the theatre. The restaurant is beautiful and the views are spectacular. The service was excellent! Our waiter saw we did not want for anything! I would most definitely come to The View again. "

  • "This restaurant is great for a special occasion where you want to see all the lights of NY. However there is no kids menu and only set courses which makes it very restricting. On the night we went it was excessively hot in the restaurant and made for an unpleasant experience plus the tip was automatically added to the bill which I thought was not acceptable given the excessively hot temperature and average service."

  • "It would be great if one could reserve not just a table but a table by the window. Not sure why the reservation policies require this gamble. Especially guests who have been planning their "special" dinner for a while are likely to be disappointed if they end up in the second row. (And yes, you can see the view from second row, but you feel like you are constantly looking at the folks seated there...) So: great - if you are lucky."

  • "We came to the View because I have been there many times over the years and it has never failed to impress. I brought my son and his new fiancee. The staff joined in the spirit of congratulations, which was sweet. The food was good as always. But the service was pitifully slow. We were there for over two and a half hours. And not because we wanted to be. And in defence of the staff, it was not through any fault of theirs. There just weren't enough of them. This restaurant charges enough to be better staffed. I've waitressed and I know of what I speak. Ellen's Stardust Diner on Broadway has three times the staff at a third of the price. It is also a memorable experience.I will come back someday in the hopes of seeing an improvement."

  • "I loved the ambiance and food my main but reason to dine at View is to enjoy fabulous Manhattan skyline I was very disappointed many new skyscrapers are obstructing panoramic scenery I did not wanted to look into windows of other tall buildings around us."

  • "The waiter added tips himself - 18%. That is ridiculous! It is not tips if you add Them yourself."

  • "My Boyfriend was celebrating a special Birthday so I planned a special weekend in Manhattan.Haven't been to the View in many years & remember it being a lovely place for a Special Occasion. This time, unfortunately,it did not meet our expectations. Our table wasn"t ready so we were asked to wait in the lounge. Before our drinks were served, our pager went off.had to wait to pay the very pricey bill for 2 basic cocktails. Our table for 2 was sandwiched between 2 large parties of about 16 people each,Young, vibrant and loud sports teams. Our waiter, obviously distracted, was barely there, and I realized later, that I didn't have an opportunity to ask him to take a picture,as planned. The meal was adequate,& not the quality one would expect for the price."
    Dined on 4/11/2014
  • "The place is a must for those wanting to experience the great views of New York while sitting eating dinner -as it revolves you get to see all the sights of the skyline -most of the time you dont realise you are moving until you look up and the landscape has changed-our dining experience was great and only overshadowed by one of our parties main course being forgottenby the kitchen and arrived too late to be eaten -the serving staff could not have been more apologetic and made up for this by offering our wine to be complimentry and giving us a souvenier glass and providing a birthday cake-they did their best to make up for it , if you are of a faint heart the speed of the lifts getting you up 60 odd floors may not be to your liking"

  • "Food was good, but for the price I expected more of a fine dining experience. Service was nothing more than I'd get at a Fridays or chili's. Friendly waiter but very casual."
    Dined on 4/12/2014
  • "Dined with my family from out of town. Let me say that the only thing that was at all worthwhile was the view. Service and food were below average at any price point but for a prix fix menu at 84.00 per person it was insulting. It was so hot that the butter was melting in the table. There was no attempt to mitigate this by anyone just a shrug and we didnt know it would be warm today. Obviously no one is intwrested in repeat business. What a shame..."
    Dined on 4/12/2014
  • "My expectations were low - a revolving restaurant with amazing views suggests that maybe the food and service might be low on the list of priorities at this venue. Far from it - great food - great drinks and a wonderful evening was had by all."
    Dined on 4/12/2014
  • "We went to The View for no particular occasion but just to go to a nicer restaurant while we were in town and we loved it. The service, food and view were great. Our only complaint was that they were having problems with their generator so it was exceptionally hot while we were eating. However, midway through our dinner it started to cool down and to compensate us the waiter brought us an extra dessert, at no cost. We'd definetely recommend this restaurant and would dine with them again."

  • "I have been taking my parents here for years as they absolutely adore this restaurant and the View is SPECTACULAR. The food is actually very, very good and on par with some of the best restaurants in the City. The bar area is very touristy and to be avoided. While the restaurant is filled with tourists, it never feels touristy. It is such an incredible way to see the City and really shows one how big NYC is. Perfect pre-theatre restaurant for a truly special occassion. I LOVE IT!"
