Took my 6 yr-old on a Daddy-Daughter trip to NYC. Went to the view after seeing Aladdin and had a great experience. Food was excellent and view was incredible. Three course fixed priced menu is expensive but when you consider you pay up to $30 just to see the sights at some places (like Top of the Rock at Rockefeller), it really is quite fair for the experience.

My three sisters and I had Sunday Brunch at the view to celebrate my 50th birthday. Our entire hotel stay exceeding all of our expectations. When we were at brunch the food was incredible and never ending. The Mimosas were fabulous and our server was awesome. When ever he came to our table we would point to buildings that were in our view and he would orient us to our location and tell us which buildings were which. We also loved that the napkins had a "map" of the buildings with names. The view was definetly our favorite meal in our 4 day stay. The funnest part of the View was at the end when they brought out a special birthday cake and sang to me.

Was great for a special event, but hugely expensive. Went for a brunch and the buffet was $70/person. Even if you are a huge eater, it is hard to get your money's worth. However, the service was great. The fact that the restaurant rotated was really fun and was the only way we could justify paying the price, but I should also add that I was surprised at the number of tall buildings/structures immediately around the restaurant location that blocked the view sometimes as we rotated around.

Be sure to make reservations for this restaurant. The food was delicious! Our waiters were attentive and fun. We especially liked Raymond (such a funny guy). This restaurant is a bit pricey, but well worth it. The city views are amazing. You don't necessarily need a window seat as the view is wide open from all directions.

If you time it right, you can see the city in daylight and at night. We arrived about 6:30, sunset was ~7, dinner was done around 8. We were able to see the city in the daytime, sunset, then the beautiful lights at night. Awesome experience! And the food was excellent as well... not 5*, but a solid 4.35*:)

Booked this from the UK weeks ago for my wife's 50th birthday, so was taking a gamble as to whether A. They had us booked even though we had a booking reference B. We got a window table, C. It was as good as it said it was. Well it's YES to all ov the above. We were booked. We had a table by the window/view. And was great in every way, they even rememberd it was Jacqu's birthday. Food great wine brilliant service very slick & friendly. Was expensive but well worth for a special occasion. Pays to pre-book as we did, as you just sail past the long non booked queue to your table. And yes the restaurant does revolve & is spectacular by night. Would recommend if your on a holiday in Time Square as we are. It's a real treat.

I was so disappointed at the service, the food and the price. The restaurant wasn't very crowded and the service was lousy. For what they charge (and it's absolutely ridiculous even for New York) you would think the food would have been superb. It was lousy. I had the sea bass and it was very dry and tasteless. They brag about the view but all you can see are the tops of buildings. Not impressed at all. There are much better places in NYC to eat and not get ripped off.

I still prefer buffet brunches with or without a view. But The View has both a very good brunch with great views. Haven't been to a revolving restaurant in more than 30 years when they were all the rage. It was very nice, not sure why they went out of style. The food was very good, the hot table and omelet stand exceptional. All in all a very good value considering the location in Times Square, NYC

We were skeptical about going to the View after reading many reviews, but let me tell you it was worth every penny!!!!! The waiter was amazing and proactive to our every wish or desire. Our group of eight had three that have very serious food allergies including Gluten. The waiter brought us a list that included all the contents and possible allergy to each dish. It was clear and they were so willing to accommodate any changes to the wonderful existing menu. The appetizer was lovely, the main dish amazing and dessert to die for! The wine selections were very nice and I am a bit picky there! A wonderful after theater dinner, relaxing, and we celebrated an anniversary and job promotion. Could not imagine better!

We apreciated the diner very much. Of course it is very expensive as we pay for the view. But we have been very well welcome with a nice attention for our wedding aniversary. The cocktails, wine and food were good. To go to the restaurant the elevator already is an experience. We stayed for a little more than 2 hours so we did 2 rotations. It was night time and the view was enjoyable.

I thought I did my research but it seems because I had a reservation I got the pre-fix menu. Apparently without a reservation you get a regular menu. so for my $12 year old daughter and I it was $84 per person plus drinks and tip. Now I know this is NYC but I thought this was a bit much. The food was good and the service was excellent but we did not need a pre-fix meal. I felt taken advantage of. the view and experience was wonderful but they could do a nice menu (expensive even) that didn't feel like a rip off. while we were there several tables got up and left.

This was first trip to New York and US for myself and my wife for our 20th wedding anniversary and The View Restaurant was recommended for the view over Manhattan at night. Being a special occasion we decided to make a reservation in the restaurant for 8pm. We were under the impression that for 2 people we automatically got an outside the rim table but were told on arrival that none of these were available and should we wish to wait they would buzz us on the buzzer. Half an hour later we got our table. We both felt the food was nothing special, wouldn't eat there again ourselves and certainly wouldn't recommend to anyone. The service was extremely good. We felt the view only went 180 deg back and forth as we never saw the Chrysler building.

We have been in The View in 2000 and it was a great experience. But going back there 14 years after was a great delusion. The only thing that has not changed was the rotating scenery and that's hard to loose. The food wasn't really good and moreover for that price in New York one can be served quite well. The staff was ok but kind of can't help for the shortages. Still though if you want to enjoy e scenic view of the city with the company of some drinks it can be enjoyable. After all it is one of a kind in NYC.
