  • "We had a coupon and had eaten here before so knew we would love it. Food is expertly prepared with generous portions. It was ladies night so the bar was full of people enjoying the atmosphere but was a little noisy. The wait staff were attentive and polite. The decor is modern. Though they did not have any of their own brews on tap, the variety of beer was good. We recommend this restaurant for anyone."

  • "Hosts are friendly and accommodating. Ambience is nice both inside and out (aside from the techno music playing in an attempt to be hip like their "The W" copycat name). Beer selection is good, but they don't brew anything so they're no "brewhouse." Ordered an appetizer, salads and entrees. Salads came out then 5 minutes later entrees by runner who said the app was coming out soon. Waiter admitted he forgot to enter. When I said forget it he said he'd take it off the bill and box it up to go. He never did. Also, my wife never got her after dinner drink. I guess he knew he screwed up and gave up on us. Although the food was good overall, the Savannah Shrimp had diced tomatoes not sun dried tomatoes. Sad the chef doesn't know the difference."

  • "This is our third visit to V. Previous experiences were nice. However, this Father's Day brunch I found the quality, quantity and presentation to very disappointing. First, I ordered Steak and Eggs. The plate arrived with just one egg and a small portion of steak. My wife ordered an omelet with onions, spinach and mushroom but a ham and cheese omelet was delivered to our table. Our waitress promptly corrected the mistake by bringing me two eggs and my wife the omelet she ordered. The food presentation was bleak. The eggs were covered in a brown coating perhaps from a grill not cleaned from previous food preparation. Overall value for dollar is poor at best. The manager deducted the cost of one meal which was nice."

  • "The mimosa experience (bottomless option) was nice - except they ran out of champagne. It is evident the place is new, as the server was just "okay." Our food was nothing special and our food for a table of six didn't come out at the same time. They were quick to refill drinks, but not food corrections."

  • "My second time there within two weeks, food was good but both times I was there with my toddler and the food took a long time to come out. Food had good flavor, french toast was very good, but the service was lacking. On father's day we were there with two other families, they were not crowded but yet the service suffered. They were slow to refill the endless mimosa,which is an extra charge, when we inquired, the were out or champagne. Once our food finally came, it was cold, I order shrimp and grits and had to return them. Once again service was slow. I spoke with the manager, after hesitating and going to check with the bar tender, he removed the mimosa bar from our tickets. I will give them another try, maybe without my toddler."

  • "We've been to the V several times and have enjoyed our experience. We were very disappointed for brunch on Father's Day. The service was very slow and the food was just mediocre. We even asked for bread to tide us over while we patiently waited for our food. It never came. There was also an advertisement to "like" the restaurant for a $10 gift card. There was no one at the front desk to redeem the offer. Overall, very disappointing."

  • "I don't know what it is about this place, but every time I go I have such an amazing time! Conversation flows over delicious craft beer selections and expertly prepared food. I love that most of the menu is sourced locally. The ambiance of the entire place is great, and the booths allow for private conversation without making you feel isolated from the rest of the restaurant. This place is great for a date or a night out with friends, I love it, it's one of my all-time favorite restaurants. Go, you won't regret it!"

  • "Food was good for some in the party. One person's food came out cold. The atmosphere was nice. The wait staff was attentive but towards the end of the service seemed like they were trying to rush us out as they were getting ready for the night time crowd."

  • "We went for the first time after purchasing a Groupon a few months ago. While the hangar steak was great, the cod was a bit bland and needed salt, which was not present on any tables. The desserts were mediocre at best. The service, not good at all. Our waiter took the Groupon code in the beginning and then when we got our check it was not on there so he had to get our groupon code again after we asked about it. The manager was difficult for staff to find. Finally after the waiter found him he came over to speak with us, we pointed out we were first timers and not impressed. After comping one dessert, they also gave us a gift card to invite us back. I'm not sure we will use it but the thought was nice. Maybe we will try a brunch."

  • "The food was good. I would pass on the cheese and cracker plate tiny portions vs the price. We all loved our entrées. The restaurant was out of a lot of things, rolls, french fries, and some of the beers on the list. We will try to go again for brunch. "

  • "When my party of three arrived at the reserved time, the restaurant was not crowded. We were taken to a booth right outside of the kitchen. This seating was not satisfactory to me. You don't put reserved patrons in an unsatisfactory place. near the kitchen when the restaurant is not crowded. I asked for another seating and was accommodated. "

Ordered dinner salads and sandwich with onion rings and all was very good. The chocolate dessert was terrific! I will return for dinner and look forward to trying Sunday brunch.   • "We had reservations for 7pm. Was seated quickly but no service for 10 mins. We had to get attn from another server. But it took awhile for drinks appetizers and the waiter forgot that we hadn't order our dinner. And it took 30 mins for dinner and glasses were not refilled with water. We had to keep asking. We were there two and half hours a long time for dinner. I understand they had prom night but should have planned to have more staff during those times. Need to work on service. We been in the bar and you get better service in the bar then the dining room. Thanks. "

  • "We've eaten here often and have seen how it is evolving. At night the direction is definitely towards a pub environment rather than restaurant. On this Saturday evening the noise level was quite high and it was difficult to converse at our table. And if you are seated near the kitchen door, the staffers constantly call out "through" as they enter/exit. Food and service are generally good although we've experienced service miscues. Lunch is quieter and more to our preferences. Unless you ASK for bread/rolls it probably will not be offered to you."

  • "You want to like this place you really do but when it comes down to it the food is very average, the service is just ok, and the vibe confusing? Sports Bar meets lounge? The one positive is it seems to be a gaining in popularity which makes it a fairly lively place. Somehow it has just missed the mark with me. I can't recommend V but I wouldn't tell someone not to try it."

  • "The V is a bit further out for us, but it has a wide menu of apps, sandwiches, entrees at decent prices. We were attracted by the V's commitment to sourcing local ingredients. (The beef products are local to VA. The Chicken came from MD and the pork from the Carolinas). The V continues Vintage 50s excellence in offering a wide beer/alcohol selection. Staff was courteous and helpful. Live music here can be fun. This time we were there to celebrate an anniversary. We wanted ambience and vibe, but also some privacy. We were seated at a booth in the back that was private and perfect for that part of our evening. It is definitely a place to consider when you want an upscale bar scene with good food and spirits."

  • "While the good was fairly good, service was very slow. Dinner took 1 hour & 45 minutes for a family of four. We had to ask the waiter twice for the kid's dessert which took well over 20 minutes (for a scoop of ice cream). When it finally arrived, it was the wrong flavor."

  • "We've been here several times and never had a bad experience or a bad dish. We always ask for a booth to cut down on the noise and the booths are very tall so make for good conversation. The outdoor dining looks great but we haven't been there in the good weather. We'll be back!"

  • "I went to The V with a group of ladies later in the evening on a Sunday night. We had a wonderful time. The food was very good and not your run of the mill brew pub fare. The draft beers were good and the wine lovers in our group found plenty to keep them happy! We would definitely return here with family, husbands and/or friends in tow."

  • "Went for brunch with a party of four. We all had the omelet which was good when it finally came out. Toast did not come out with the omelet. When it finally was brought there was no butter. By the time the butter was brought the toast was cold. There was no salt and pepper on the table and we had to go to the bar as our server was nowhere to be seen. The server was very personable and seemed to be trying so I don't know if he had too many tables and/or the kitchen was the problem but all the waiting around for food to come, no toast, then no butter, no s&p, kind of ruined the brunch for us. I hope this was a fluke as I've enjoyed this restaurant for lunch and dinner. I will probably give them another try for brunch."

  • "Stopped in for an after-V-Day dinner. Food was some of the best I had in awhile. Service wasn't bad, just not as the food. The wait staff is young (high-school & above) and small things slipped. Nothing major, empty appetizer dishes left on table throughout the entire meal. Had to ask 3 times for water refil. Little stuff. Will be back without a doubt."

  • "Started by being seated at very "wobbly" table. Even back when matchbooks were everywhere that wouldn't have helped this one. No big deal. We ordered appetizers and entrees at the same time. The server asked did we want the appetizers served before the entrees? We said yes and shared a laugh after she left the table. Ten minutes later other staff members showed up with the entrees. One was a burger and fries with no ketchup. Couldn't find original server, finally got ketchup from someone else. 5 minutes later other staff brings appetizers. Duh, no thanks. Still no sign of server. Atmosphere was vibrant with a big screeen tv in dining area and nice bar. I would recommend for drinks and burgers maybe bring some of those little ketchup packets"

  • "We dined at the V for Valentines day. When I first walked in the hostesses were polite, and we were seated right away. However, we were seated at a bar height table in the middle of the room. Perched on a barstool with wobbly table and chairs does not make for the most romantic evening. The Ahi Nachos were delicious. The ceasar salad seemed like it was out of bag. The special valentines menu did not look like it was worth $50 per person so we stuck with the a la carte menu. I had the butternut risotto with shrimp. It was absolutely overpowered by garlic and the rice was more chewy than al dente. My husband had the jambalaya pasta and felt that it was underwhelming. We skipped desert as it was the standard cheescake, molten lava cake etc."

  • "This was the second time my wife and I have been to the V Restaurant. Both times the service was excellent and the food was outstanding. It's nice to have a local "sit-down" restaurant where you can enjoy a meal with table cloths on the table, a wide selection of food and drink, and not have to pay exorbitant prices. The only small negative comment is the loudness of the music being played over the sound system. While not extremely loud, it could have been turned down a notch or two."

  • "We had high hopes for a Valentines Day dinner, but unfortunately the meal fell short. We ordered the special ($50/person). The prime rib was ordered medium but arrived closer to rare. The seafood gratin was perhaps the biggest disappointment; it was severely overcooked and nearly inedible. The potatoes were middle of the road in terms of flavor - somewhat forgettable. On a positive note, the appetizers were delicious and the asparagus was cooked to perfection. We also enjoyed our selection of wine and the atmosphere was very nice for our V-Day dinner (they had live jazz music - nice touch)."

  • "The bad: We ordered fish and chips, and both orders came out with the batter raw in places. While waiting on a salad to replace the meal I sent back, I was served wine in a visibly dirty glass, at which point I lost my appetite and asked for the check. The good: The waitstaff and management comped our meal without our asking for it, and were very apologetic about the whole thing. While I'm not sure that I'd go in again, I don't think that what we experienced was the norm: they just looked like they were having a bad night as a result of being understaffed."

  • "After driving past the V hundreds of times we finally decided to give it a try, and we're glad we did. We had an OpenTable reservation for 7pm Saturday. We got there early expecting to relax at the bar, but they offered to seat us right then. The atmosphere reminds me of Seasons 52 in Tysons Corner. I tried a premium beer sampler, which seemed pricy but I enjoyed all the beers and we got to keep four souvenir glasses. Grilled salmon was perfectly cooked, maybe a little too sweet with the miso-soy glaze but delicious anyway. Risotto was really nice, too. The menu was a bit limited, but we'll definitely go back. The extensive outdoor seating looks like it'll be fun in the spring."
