  • "We eat here frequently for family and business lunch and brunches. It is an outstanding atmosphere for either. The food quality is consistently good and the wait staff are always professional and informed. We are so glad to have this establishment in our neighborhood."

  • "Food was average for the price. Service was average, tried hard."

  • "Half of our group enjoyed their meals the other half did not. The steaks and burgers were out of this world. The trout was delicious. The Shrimp Risotto was not as expected. The shrimp was good but the risotto was bad. It looked like a spanish rice. The Stuffed shrimp was over cooked and the stuffing was more bread than crab. Our server was way to pushy and tried to take our dishes before we were finished. He acted like he knew more about wines than we did and he kept trying to push the more expensive wines. When our daughter asked for a pinot grigio he told her he had something much better. When I asked him to bring her a taste, he said well everyone else likes it. Will try again but not soon. To many other good restaurants."

  • "Plenty of good things to be said about Union Kitchen. Outstanding food, superlative service, elegant atmosphere. Had a great time. It can get a little loud in there on Friday & Saturday night, and during the summer the inside can get a little warm between the crowds & the summer heat. That said, management was on top of the situations the night we went, much to our delight. Speaking for myself, I really like it that they have a wine list to fit any budget & taste profile. Was pleased to find a familiar favorite of both me & my date on the list at a very reasonable price. The hardest part was choosing between that & the wine special they were running that evening: 1/3 off a unique CA Pinot. I highly recommend Union Kitchen."

  • "was so nice I had it twice. Been here for lunch only but looks like a nice spot for dinner too. not too big, not too small."

  • "I've been to this location a few times and will have to say the service was not very good and the friends I went with were not happy with the food. They have a great brunch. Maybe we will try that next time."

  • "Had dinner here for the third time. This may have been the last. Other 2 times things were pretty good but not Sunday night. Salmon not cooked on salad sent it back. Steak on poms frites was pounded meat like you would have for chicken fried steak and then grilled. It was mushy and not at all like any other steak I've had or what I was expecting. Maybe wrong meat put on plate? Didn't return it to kitchen as meal had taken long enough. Took a while for waiter to come with check. We almost left thinking we must have paid since we'd had quite a long conversation after having the plates cleared and declining dessert."

  • "The notable beer selection makes for some good pairing choices with a well rounded menu. I had the trout with a great avocado first plate. My wife had a chicken dish which she has had before but unfortunately it did not meet her previous experience. Nevertheless, we will retun"

  • "Union Kitchen seems to have something for everyone. We wanted romantic and nice, but not STARCHY. High quality food & service, but relaxed and enjoyable. The server was extremely knowledgable about the menu, as well as the wine list. He recommended the perfect wine for us and the perfect dishes. He was even great about the fact we had a Groupon, which some better places sneer at. The atmosphere of very nice, but comfortable. The food is eclectic and really appealed to me, as a foodie, with the layers of flavor. The portions are very nice too!"

  • "First dining experience with Union Kitchen. Loved the menu-- a good variety. I had the Pinarita ( Pineapple Margarita ) and it was great-- my husband had the Mai Tai and liked it, as well ! All entries ( Chilean Sea Bass and Peggy's Diver Scallops ) were very tasty and well prepared, as were the Beet Salad and Appetizers we had ( Crab Napoleon and Mango Shrimp )"

  • "The Memorial Dr. branch of the Union Kitchen chain continues the tradition of delicious food and great, attentive service. The one advantage that the Memorial Dr. branch has over the Bellaire location is plenty of parking."

  • "What a delightful Father's Day Brunch for the family. The food was fantastic, the service top notch. We will be back again!"

  • "Very busy. The restaurant is doing well which is great. But everything was rushed. Desert (brownie cake) was very disappointing. Wait staff was polite but over worked. The rushed feeling was also strangely accompanied by large stretches of nit getting things requested. We will come back because except for the really poor desert, everything else was good. But not on a Friday and not until it settles a bit."

  • "Outstanding meal, Alex our server was very efficient, helpful and personable. From the fried asparagus, through our salads, steaks then lemon cake dessert all were great. I had a nice pre dinner cocktail and my wife had a good prosecco. Decent wine list as well. We will be back."

  • "I made a reservstion online for myself snd s friend asking for a quiet table. We were graciously escorted to a lovely tsble away from the msin dining. We had a lively delicious lunch and wonderful conversation. Our waiter was attentive but not intrusive. He knew the menu very well as well as wine...we had a wonderful experience. I can't wait to go again. "

  • "Great food. Excellent service from the hostess to the bartender to the waiter. A small restaurant a little difficult to navigate to the restroom. Outside covered patio for dining. Lively upbeat bar scene. Noisy on the inside but worth the experience. Enjoy!"

  • "The service was great. The food was fantastic , just the proper amount of food. The atmosphere was good. The restaurant was clean. we would love to go back again. We believe anyone would love this place for their next outing. "

  • "Despite the crowd and noise, our waiter was excellent. But it is hard to enjoy good food when tables are packed together and the large loud party next to us made conversation difficult. "

  • "Good location for outer loopers. Took our CEO from Illinois there & very much enjoyed it. Pleasant atmosphere & good food selection. We were able to sit for a while without our server trying to push us out. Priced well for all occasions. "

  • "We visit each time we are in Houston. Once again we had a great meal. Service was good as well. This place is a great place to go for a nice meal. They have expanded their wine list so there are a few more choices. Kudos to Union Kitchen."

  • "This restaurant is my newest favorite place to eat. The food is exceptional. The atmosphere is nice. The service is great too. I have only eaten here twice, but both times I left feeling like I truly got a great meal and really enjoyed myself."

  • "It was my first time dining there and I brought a few girlfriends. Even though it was Mother's Day weekend we were seated fast and food also came out fast. If you dine there around brunch time and choose to get mimosa's, they have free refills only if you get a glass. Not if you get the carafe. That wasn't made clear until the check came out of course!"

  • "Was very excited to eat here. Lots of hype and the menu looked amazing! We were quickly let down. Appetizers were not thoroughly cooked, though the presentation was beautiful. The fondu was more of a soup. My steak was extremely tough though I ordered it med rare. The truffle mac n cheese was terribly over salted, as were most of the dishes, and not edible. The carbonara was flavored by way too much bacon grease. Not impressed by the desserts at all. The choc cake tower was dry and the bananas foster wasnt quite right. Waiter brought out and opened the wrong btl of wine, second btl was wrong as well, but went with it anyway. This was suppose to be a Mothers Day treat for myself and our Mothers and instead it was an expensive disappointment."

  • "Food is good, good wine list, nice ambiance. Just wish the server had not been in such a hurry. I felt rushed, and it is not the first time I have felt that way here."

  • "We went here for my husband's birthday and it was noted on the reservation but nothing was said. I also mentioned several times it was his birthday, but got...no respond. Disappointing. The waitress was friendly but very slow and it took forever to get our drinks, she forgot our bread, brought my husbands gin and tonic with no lime which was important to that particular drink (bar's fault I'm sure) and it took her forever to bring one back - we had to remind her. On a positive note, the food was very good. He had the veal chop and it came with bone in like a big handle and was savory and delicious (I had a bite). I got shrimp and it was also delicious. We had an appetizer of brie and it was fine. We would give it another change. "

  • "Food was an excellent. Very flavorful and well prepared. Crab stuffed Jumbo Shrimp and the Pistachio crusted Chicken were excellent. Always nice to dine there."

  • "Very different kind of restaurant. We always try to get something different just for the experience and have a real problem passing up things we loved the last time. Having gone wrong yet. Our waiter this time was young and way too attentive, but otherwise everything was great as normal. WE had the ANgry shrimp and the brie appetizers, the caprese salad, and the porkabuco and veal chop. Everything was cooked to perfection and the sides that were part of the plate fit perfectly. This restaurant is very different and has really good food. Highly recommended."

  • "Consistently good - always look forward to eating here. Last visit (Sunday after church) we both had the smoked salmon - loved the display - and the taste, of course. We have never been disappointed - to us it's the best place in the Memorial area to eat, and we've lived in this area 41 years. There are probably AT LEAST 50 restaurants three miles north of Union Kitchen, and for us it's superb. We like good food!!"

  • "We have eaten here for lunch and dinner. We have gone as a couple and with groups. Everyone we have brought to this restaurant loves the place and says they are going to recommend it to others. I love the menu is rather eclectic and the service is good. We enjoy listening to Paul on Friday evenings on the patio."
