  • "This was my third time visiting Union Kitchen. And everytime it has been a success. Mostly for work meetings but the food is great. The prosciutto wrapped Asparagus have been a hit evrytime. So crunchy and full of flavor. Will keep recomending this restaurant."

  • "Overall our experience was OK. The food was excellent and service adequate, but the noise level was unacceptable. Inside, the very crowded restaurant was very noisy so we took an outside table. A musician was set up outside with lots of amplifying equipment and although the music itself was pleasant, the noise level was disturbing. We were barely able to speak to our dinner companions."

  • "We made a reservation at the Union Kitchen because it seemed like it was a logical stop on the way to the rodeo at Reliant Stadium. Service was fast and friendly and the food was delicious. Very reasonably priced wine menu with some great selections. Although we ate indoors there is an outdoor more casual eating area offering live music which looked like a lot of fun as well. We will definitely be back."

  • "We had never been here and went recently for the first time. It was amazing. We ordered a bottle of wine, shared a salad, had an appetizer, each had an entrée, shared desert and each had a coffee. I have nothing but good things to comment on. I ordered the veal and it was delicious. My husband ordered the Porkabucco and he had no complaints. It was a little noisy but right at 9:30pm, the place was cleared out. The bread pudding was also very good. We will definitely be back to this place with more people."

  • "My wife and I really enjoy the food - this time I had a fantastic prosciutto and arugula pizza. The main problem was our waiter, Michael. He was terribly forgetful and then passive aggressive about it the entire night. My parents came with us, and my dad asked for a dark beer and he said, "I have a Heineken, is that dark enough?" Then, we said we wanted to share the ceviche with the table and he told us it was a one person appetizer. My mom ordered the fries with aioli, and he forgot to bring the aioli. When my mom asked for the aioli, he acted like she was putting him out. I'm not sure if this was Michael's first week as a waiter, but it sure seemed like it. We'll come back, but will request another waiter if we get seated in his section!"

  • "We've been to Union Ktichen many times. Our kids like the pizzas and the other kids menu items. This trip was with grown ups and the food was more varied. The crab cake appetizer was fair and my salmon entire was good. My wife's fish was very good - so overall a good meal. Service was friendly. I didn't order it this time, but the burger is EXCELLENT!"

  • "I went to TUK this boast Monday at lunch time for a coworkers birthday. We has the spinach dip appetizer and it was really yummy. For my lunch I had the curry chicken and it was amazing! Lots of flavor and and the curry sauce was creamy and delicious. Will definitely be going back to try more items!"

  • "Tempura vegetable appetizer was not prepared with a tempura batter but rather had typical deep fried breading; and the vegetables were unidentifiable. Fries served with steak had clearly been pre-cooked and then deep fried before serving, making them the greasiest fries I have ever tasted. Stuffed shrimp entree arrived room temperature, although it was supposed to be served warm. Again, unbeknownst to me in advance, it arrived heavily deep fried and greasy. The stuffed shrimp, according to the menu, were supposed to be served with collard greens, but instead were served with kale, which had an overspiced and extremely salty dressing on it. The best thing about the experience was the server."

  • "My first and last experience at The Union Kitchen was for their Valentine's Day special (included three courses) and it was a complete disappointment. They seated us without acknowledging our reservation and neglected to visit our table again until we signaled for service. We did not receive the bread basket until we were almost finished with our appetizer after asking three service members. The main courses between my dining partner and I were lamb with a sweet potato puree and duck breast with foie gras risotto. Each piece of lamb was cooked at different temperatures, the duck was entirely chewy, lacking salt, and the risotto had absolutely no flavor. And, if that wasn't enough, we were given the wrong dessert choices not once, but twice."

  • "My husband and I dined at Union Kitchen, Bellaire location, on Valentine's Day. We enjoyed the menu items offered specifically for this particular occasion. The waiter was efficient without being bothersome. The food was delicious and prepared exactly as we asked. We have dined at this particular location several times for brunch and dinner and have never been disappointed."

  • "We went there for Valentine's Day & had a wonderful time. There was a fixed price menu available for the evening but was not mandatory. The food was really delicious & presented beautifully. I ordered lamb lollipops & my date ordered steak. The sides were puréed sweet potatoes & garlic mash potatoes. There was a bit too much garlic & it was a little salty. The sweet potato dish was worth licking the plate. The chocolate crime brûlée was good although the presentation was a bit odd. I had the strawberry mousse cake which was nearly perfect. This is a very nice, upscale restaurant in a very unassuming location. It will give any other nice restaurant a run for the money."

  • "The food was good and cooked to perfection but our server seemed to be "in the weeds" during our entire meal. He forgot our wine right off the jump and I had to remind him & he hardly came around to refill drinks & seemed to be running around like a chicken with his head cut off. We weren't a cheap ticket either, spending around $120 before tip between 2 ppl. The resturant was packed and that was expected being a Friday night, but it seemed as if they try to cram as many tables into a not so big room and I felt boxed in like a sardine. Overall I was satisfied because the food was delish but to make my experience complete I expect good service, especially when I'm spending good money, otherwise I mine as well go to a Chili's or Applebee's."

  • "The food was outstanding! Our table of 4 had no complaints! The sea bass was phenomenal! I wanted to lick the plate! All the dishes ordered were consumed with great appreciation! The pasta carbonara, pesto chicken pasta and the steak frites and the sea bass were delicious! We had no room for desserts, but we will be back! Service was great! Thank you for a wonderful evening!"

  • "I got a travelzoo deal to go to this place and it was SO worth it, but even if you don't bring any deal it is a great place to come, it is pricey but you get for what you pay. great tasting food served big!"

  • "The food was alright the service not so good that time of day. It appeared they only had one or two waitresses that day. Little on the slow side"
    Dined on 2/1/2014
  • "Our service was spotty - when an error in our order was made it was fixed, but without apology. My lobster omelet was well seasoned but overcooked, and the ratio of lobster to egg did not merit the $16.50 pricetag. Not all ingredients were listed on the menu, making it difficult to make adjustments for special diets. The mini muffins before the meal were tasty."

  • "This is my fourth time at this restaurant. Second time for dinner. We didn't get the best table, as it was too cold to sit outside, so very crowded inside. The food is always good, reasonable portions size, and reasonably priced. My husband, a Purdue grad, is hoping to meet the Purdue owner one of these days!"

  • "Union Kitchen was recommended to us by our children and I must say we were not disappointed. In fact, the food and service was outstanding with a comparable wine list. When we return to Houston we will definitely return."

  • "Food was very good. Tables were to close and crowded. TV in bar was out of place. Felt crowded. I'll try the other location but likely not come back to the Bellaire site"

  • "We love this restaurant because it is nice but casual and has great food. The mussels appetizer was so good we asked for extra bread to sop up every drop of sauce. We have eaten there many times and have loved every dish we have tried. Love the patio."

  • "Pre-meal bread was fair at best (too crumbly). My steak was cooked perfectly and tasted very good, but it was served on a single polenta cake. Needed some greens or a salad to liven up the plate. My wife's scallops were fair - a little salty. The chocolate tower dessert was also good. Overall nothing remarkable, but it's generally a solid place, and good for kids. The burger, which I did not get this time, is excellent. We'll go again."

  • "When we first pulled up we thought maybe we made the wrong choice in dining. The restaurant was right on the road & nothing attractive about the building. We saw that it was busy inside so decided to go in & we were both thrilled we did. We ordered the Lolo Hawaiian Tostada & curry humus as appetizers & both were incredible! (So much so we went back the next day for lunch & reordered them!) My husband got the Salmon special & was so impressed he remarked it was the best salmon he has ever had. I wasn't that hungry so the appies were enough for me. The wine list was good & very reasonable! We ordered a bottle of the Newton Unfiltered Chardonnay & it was only $60. (Hard to find in wine stores for less that $40) I would def go back!"

  • "Union Kitchen is our dependable delicious brunch spot whenever we want a simple but satisfying weekend brunch. Their pancakes are truly fantastic. They have a little bit of everything too and the prices are reasonable. It's never too crowded nor too trendy. Service is always great too - lots of coffee refills!"

  • "There are two reasons why you should visit the Union Kitchen's Bellaire location. The food is superb (I especially liked the Mexican pot stickers, and the trout entree was understated but quite delicious). Also, the serving staff is superb; expect delivery of food to your table in 10 minutes. And in a pleasant manner. Grade A; a little crowded perhaps, but a classy place nonetheless."

  • "I hosted out of town clients and the service and food was great. We booked the reservations on Open Table and we were seated right away. It was crowded with a diverse crowd in age which made me more comfortable as I only chose this restaurant because of Open Table. Mango Salsa, Vuelve la Vida and Potstickers were ordered for appetizers and were immediately devoured. Good wine selection. I ordered the bone in veal. I was hoping a larger cut but after said and done I was not over stuffed. Cheesecake was delicious. Great neighborhood ambiance and I look forward to coming back."

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed out meal but just wish it had been without being surrounded by screaming children and have other tables actually touch ours. The room was so crowded that it affected our enjoyment. Food was very good. Cinnamon rolls were delicious as were the pancake sliders. The eggs were overcooked on the crab benedict but the flavor was still there. Union Meatloaf was very, very unique and well-prepared. Our server was off and on - obviously had too many tables and is showed. It was hard to get a refill on the bottomless mimosas which were overly orange juiced anyway. Would love to try the restaurant when there were less guests or when there was more staff. Lots of promise."
