Diner Reviews
  • "This restaurant is a disaster. We were quickly served our appetizers and then sat at the table for close to an hour with no entree in sight. No one came over to check on us and we had to yell out to get the waiter to the table. We were told the food is made to order and that was the reason for the delay. Another 10 minutes passed and still nothing. The waiter and the host/manager were fighting in the dining room, we could hear yelling from the kitchen. Ultimately we left without ever receiving our dinner. By far the worst dining experience I have ever had."

  • "Had the duck lasagna and thought it was a fantastic and unique dish. Had the 10 hour pig and polenta and would highly recommend. Will definitely go back to experience the rest of the menu. Service was solid and enjoyed the night."

  • "do not like the back room -- can see into the kitchen and heard pots and pans clanging all night. They said that they were short 2 people, but the food took a ridiculous amount of time to come out -- we waiting 1 hour just for the appetizer which was a salad. But the owner was very apologetic about the wait"

  • "I met a dear friend for dinner here. It was restaurant week and the price at $29.95 for three courses was great. The food was most enjoyable. I would return without hesitation. The portions were a bit small but I don't know if that related to restaurant week."

  • "Problems in the kitchen during restaurant week led to very slow service. But food, once it came out, was top notch. Innovative and tasty."

  • "Went on a frigid March evening during HVRW.......very welcoming ambiance; cozy, spiffed-up,smartly decorated yet casual and comfortable. Bar area nicely set toward the back with most tables at the front of the house. Duck Lasagna, PEI mussels, Polentina, and short ribs were extraordinary!! Cod w/red cabbage and meatballs very good but not exceptional. Wine list is short, well priced, very well matched with the menu, modestly varied but nothing special. Service is friendly and adequate.....could use a bit more polish and precision but the place is casual. Highly recommended."

  • "My first time but won't be my last. The staff is exceptional. Very attentive without being intrusive. A bit pricey, but worth it for a special evening or to make an impression."

  • "This is a new farm to table restaurant with a menu that changes regularly. There are innovative dishes and sides. Not everything works perfectly but we applaud the innovation and look forward to many more new taste sensations! The owners are very nice and very accommodating. This is a pleasant addition to our weak restaurant choices and we wish them much success."

  • "Open only for about two months it is one of the top restaurants in Westchester. The menu is limited featuring only a few dishes which are perfectly prepared and delicious. The service is attentive and professional. We are going back, often!"

  • "The food was tasty but rich. Limited selections on the menu (which I think changes frequently)"

  • "Service was a bit spotty.....ordered a cab got a chardonnay. Didn't make a big deal out of it and they later comped it. Service was a little slow. I don't like to be rushed but we felt a bit abandoned. That said the food was good and fairly priced."

  • "We tried out this new place and were absolutely delighted! Our food was fantastic, the service was excellent and friendly, and the experience was outstanding. The food could come a bit faster but, overall, we didn't let that tarnish our wonderful time. Highly recommended!"

  • "Very Nice Restaurant with a nice atmosphere, good serves (a little slow but good). I loved the menu and plate presentation but the food itself was average at best, small portion sizes, and overpriced!"

  • "Always looking for a good new restaurant in the river towns, we were happily surprised with the delicious food and tasty (albeit limited) wines at Twisted Oak. We're a soft touch for locally sourced ingredients; particularly happy with the duck carbonara and the chicken with dumplings. And, even though he's not a kale fan, my husband had multiple tastes of my salad, dressed with lemon and pecorino. Portion sizes were just right, i.e. not huge. Our desserts were not amazing but, by that time, we were quite full. We will go back."

  • "Food was good but service was slow. We went on Valentines Day. I will give it one more try. Staff was very friendly."

  • "This is a small, chef run restaurant that impresses me more with every new dish I try. Chef Michael is a yet to be discovered star who goes beyond the ordinary trends and hits a home run every time. His friend and partner, Jacob, runs the bar and also creates the perfect music line up that creates the perfect ambiance to go with the excellent food."

  • "Read what was in retrospect an unreasonable enthusiastic review in a local paper - one that clearly barters such enthusiastic reviews for ad sales. The lyrically praised food was banal at best and, curiously, the items rhapsodically singled out in the local review were practically inedible. Poor service and a cheesy decor rounded things out."

  • "We were so excited for a new restaurant in TT, unfortunately we were disappointed in the food. The place is beautiful and has warmth and we are hoping it is just opening issues, but our kale salad was salty and the scallops were under cooked. The meatballs lacked texture. Each dish missed to please us."

  • "We had a lovely meal at Twisted Oak. One of the first things we noted and loved was that tables were not on top of each other. The menu was limited but there were many choices I could have picked. The food was delicious and the potions just right. There were a couple of lapses in time before we were served, but it didn't bother us. Wait staff was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Looking forward to another visit!"
