A word from The Tuscan Inn
The Tuscan region is the heart of Italy and its food is considered by many to be the mainstay of Italian Cuisine. The classic dishes of the mountainous region are simple and unpretentious. The food changes seasonally because of the pride the residents take in being able to use the freshest ingredients available. At the Tuscan Inn, we present to you a taste of Tuscan cuisine and a continuation of the pride that has made this area famous.

The Tuscan Inn was originally built in the late 1800s as a hunting and fishing lodge. Over the years, it has converted into a hotel, and eventually into the Italian cuisine restaurant you know and love today. The old, rustic, European atmosphere still remains for all to enjoy.

We invite you to come learn and share our love for the food of Tuscany, Italy. We welcome walk-ins and take reservations for all size parties.

This is one of my favorite restaurants and have been coming for years. As this was my second visit now under new ownership, I was a little disappointed. The wine by the glass section was limited, however we did select one that was very good. The service was slow. We waited a long time to receive our meal which was good, not outstanding. One of the beef filets was very rare, not med rare as requested. Our server seemed too busy covering too many tables and we had to flag her down a few times. I'm hoping this was just an off night as I would hate to scratch this restaurant off my list.

I would definitely suggest The Tuscan for a special occasion dining experience. Plenty of delicious entries to choose from although a bit pricey. The atmosphere is charming & romantic. Our server was very pleasant and timely as oppose to a prior visit. I guess it's hit or miss in that category

This was the second time we tried this restaurant since it changed owners. What a big disappointment . We went back only because we thought we would give it another chance bu it was even worse this time. Their hot banana peppers use to be great. Now the meat is hard chewy and tasteless. The soup that night was horrible. Artichokes in a greasy broth. Seafood risotto went way down also. Risotto was clumpy and the balsamic drizzle was more like a river . Way too much. The only saving grace in this dish was the seafood was ok. If the new owner doesn't get a better chef it will be another restaurant gone in the area. Never once did anyone ask how was our food.

The restaurant has a nice, rustic ambiance. Our server was attentive. Our wine choice, one of the Cabernets, though overpriced in our opinion, was so good that we had two glasses. The ravioli was delicious!! My husband complained that the lasagne, not flavorful and too watery, was sub-par. We each had the creme brûlée for dessert, and it was excellent. We would definitely return to try some of their other entrees.

The service started out good but then it seemed as our waiter forgot about us. There was quite a long time between our salads and our meals and the server never came back to take away our salad plates. Then, when what appeared to be a more frequent patron sat next to us, all bets were off. We were almost completely ignored. Salads were good. Husband and son thought their food was ok. My duck was not good at all. This was our second time trying the place, for me I'd be fine if it were the last.

We stopped back to the Tuscan Inn for our second visit, our first was excellent (seating, food, service...everything). Well our second experience was not quite as good, we were sat in the front of the restaurant, right next to an aisle (busy with wait staff and diners coming/leaving). My wife ordered the lamb chops (medium) with mushroom risotto and I, chicken with polenta. My wife's dish came out rare, so we had to send it back (disappointing) the risotto was very good, creamy and filled with wild mushrooms; my chicken was spectacular (highlight of the night), what we were expecting, but the polenta was dry, gritty and sub par at best. The host knew about the sub par polenta and was very nice asking if he could replace, I declined.

We have never before been to the Tuscan Inn, although having gone past it many times throughout the years. What a wonderful dinner and dining experience that we had! Great service (by waittres Joey), excellent menu, wonderful food! The lamb lollipops were perfectly prepared and served in a very tasty sauce. My wife's scallops were excellent! The desserts were very good. We didn't know what we had been missing. We will be back!

The Tuscan Inn can be very good. It's close. Would love to support regularly. Consistent quality is key for those that merit frequent return business. Apparently ownership changed recently. Hopefully the new folks will get it right. Lasagna Bolognese was all ground beef and little else. They nicely split the seafood risotto, previously a signature dish. Hotter and less balsamic would probably go far. Brody was a fine sever. Management was attentive. Would love to go back if excellent reviews follow. Wine Mark up, also a concern.

When the restaurant we had chosen to celebrate our 9th anniversary was closed for renovations we had to quickly find another place for dinner. After reading several reviews we decided on the Tuscan Inn because it was one of the only restaurants that did not have a bad review. We were thrilled with our choice! Our server, Brody, was very attentive and knowledgable, offering suggestions on the wine and the food. Each course was amazing from our scallop appetizer to the surf and turf entree. The portions were generous and there was no chance of leaving hungry. We will definitely return to the Tuscan Inn and have been telling all of our friends and family about our wonderful experience. Two enthusiastic thumbs up!

a definitely unique experience w great food. Old world Rustic rustic type setting sitting alone in wooded surroundings in Hampton right off Rt. 8. the food was outstanding, we had the seafood risotto and seared scallop entrees. The triramasu dessert is great too. Only glitch in service is after tastng a few wines and ordering one the the waitress forgot to bring the glass of wine I ordered and had to ask her about it after waiting 10-15 mins. the lights would flicker on occassion and they need to correct that and possibly spruce up the interior a little but overall a great setting and experience and more importantly great food!

Overall good experience, had reservation and was seated on time. Seat for two near a window which was cramped in terms of access and proximity to adjacent guest table. Waiter and wait staff were very attentive and food was very good as well. Ambiance nothing special but food and service made up for it which is the primary reason we visited this restaurant.

My husband and I have driven past this restaurant weekly since we moved here 3 years ago and finally made a reservation. So glad we did! We didn't know what to expect and were pleasantly surprised. The service, wine and food were excellent. Brought us back to the European restaurants we used to eat at when we lived in France. Loved that it was in a building built in the 1880s. Very impressed that Hampton has such a restaurant.

The Tuscan Inn is one of those places on the side of a PA road that looks quaint, and you drive past it. Don't drive past The Tuscan Inn. They've changed mgmt in the last few months and although we hadn't visited before, we love it now! A 20-min or so drive out of Pittsburgh proper is well-worth it. The charcuterie plate, crab-cakes and pesto gnocchi were all well-prepared, delicately-seasoned and yummy! This restaurant gets a lot of local people and accounts for a lot of the noise level as people walk-in and say hello to their friends and acquaintances. White table cloths and engaging service-staff add brightness to the rustic decor. We'd definitely eat here again, which always defines a good restaurant for us.

This is the best Italian cuisine (excluding pizza) I've had in the Pittsburgh area! Great location & not a lot of traffic! The complimentary bread was delicious and very addicting. We ordered the Agglio Arrosto appetizer and it was scrumptious! Our waiter was kind enough to crush the garlic up for us to make the dish less messy. I rarely order appetizers but this was totally worth it! The house dressing was tasty & the roasted red pepper soup was one of the best soups I've ever had. The Penne Bolognese was very good - I've tried penne at many restaurants and am often dissatisfied; this was delicious though! The broccolini; however, was not as good as I expected. I would definitely recommend making a reservation or you may not get seated.

My husband and I enjoyed a delicious dinner on Saturday. We enjoyed some of the best mussels we have had in a long time, in a delicious briney broth. We did pass along our wish that they be served with some Italian bread to soak up the broth. My husband enjoyed the seafood risotto and I loved the ravioli. We shared a piece of carrot cake for dessert that was good but nothing special. The main issue with this restaurant is still the tired, outdated decor, although the parking lot has finally been paved and some updates to the interior were noted. The Tuscan Inn is ever so.close to being not just a neighborhood gem but a destination restaurant.

Happy to FINALLY see some changes in the menu, and hope this is a trend the T.I. will adopt. My friend ordered the lasagna and had to send it back because the meat seemed to be lacking. It was definitely improved the second time, and we got an apology from the staff. Our waiter was extremely professional, efficient and friendly and provided great service: not hovering, but attentive when needed. My filet was great, and very tender. Have always loved the tasty flat(?) bread appetizers-- one reason I love to eat here! Recommend you BYOB and pay the modest corkage fee; it's almost equivalent to what you pay for ONE glass of wine. The money you save can go toward their delicious tiramisu.
