We were there Friday night and there were only two other tables seated. Vegtable salad was just ok. Salmon good but overall small portions. The menu looked very interesting and I was looking forward to trying the Treemont but food was good not great.

Had a great dinner. Every dish was well thought out. We had been to Ela and wanted to try Treemont. The cuisine is very forward-thinking and the flavors are very complex. My only complaint was that portion-wise appeared a little uneven, at least when it comes to the small plates. I ordered the squid dish, which was plated beautifully, but was much more bite-size than the escargots that my husband ordered. Regardless, very good food, and we would go back.

My companion called to ask about gluten-free options and the hostess noted it on our reservation. When we were seated, the waiter proactively went over the GF options with us, which I think was an awesome piece of customer service! Outstanding! The food was really imaginative and amazing, nice wine list and cocktail options.

My wife and I had a great time dining at The Treemont. What a treat! Both small plates we shared were very tasty - chick pea fritters and charred squid. My wife had the lamb saddle as an entree, which she really enjoyed and I had the best salmon I've ever eaten. The presentation on the plates was in itself a treat - works of art! We had excellent service by the entire staff and we will be back!

Food was different and very well prepared. Great dining experience as not the kind of food you make at home. Could do with a little less of the cream in a couple of dishes as they were very rich. Only real complaint is the same as at sister restaurant Ela. Drinks are very expensive and portions are very skimpy. Next time, I will pre-game!

Treemont is still new to the Broad Street, Philadelphia scene and a little gem especially for pre-theatre dining. Their appetizers and sides make for delicious grazing if a lighter touch is to your liking. The charred beets and the grilled asparagus are particularly savory. The service is attentive without being fawning.

innovative food choices and our part of 4 tried most of them. To note : in small bites try the chickpea one all others are small and for one only and actually a small bite. under appts gnudo all raved about and I loved the escargot a la George Perrier and the carrot gazpacho was incredible. All of us had different entrees and the ones liked the best were the veal tenderloin and the short ribs. Waiter was great but eating downstairs was a bit tight .

oysters were great, grilled squid was amazing but a very small portion so don't plan to share much. everyone was pleased with their meals. I personally wish the menu was a little larger or had more seafood options. Given that i had looked at the menu online and made my selection (tile fish) in advance i was a bit bummed when we got there and it was no longer on the menu and had been replaced by salmon.

Thought the food was very good. Fish for two was a nice treat and never had skate wing served like that. A perfect sharing option. Gnudi was very rich and something different. Service was a bit of a disappointment. Not bad but not what you'd expect from a place like this. Twice we were asked if we were done with a course while there was clearly still food on the plate. Efficient but not overly warm. Sat downstairs where it felt a bit cramped. Don't know how the upstairs seating looks.

Chip Roman's latest restaurant is fantastic! Starting with a cocktail and snack recommendation from the personable and talented bartender at the welcoming bar, a table in the warm and friendly first floor dining room looking out onto 15th Street, to the food the 3 of us chose (with help from our server) and shared, and topped off with an interesting and easy to pair wine and beer list, it was an overall exceptional experience. We can't wait to go back with some of our foodie and wino friends. Great job Chip!

We are big fans of Blackfish and many restaurants on Passyunk and were curious about Treemont. Not very busy due to summer beach goers. Very sophistocated dishes like Will BYO and wonderful presentations. Liked the Cocoa Muffins. Appetizers werewell thought out from Wonderful albeit small Deviled eggs to very creative Carrot Gazpacho. Veal and Short ribs were plentiful and with wonderful accents. My wife who hates beets even loved the Charred Beat side dish. Chocolate cake dessert was small but yummy! Server was experienced and very knowledgeable regarding each ingredient. Overall a bit hit and must at least try restaurant. Great dining experience! Grade A/A-

We tried some items reviewed in Phila. Magazine and we were not disappointed. Biscuits with sour cherry butter were outstanding. Short ribs over grits were tender and tasty. The gnudi melted in our mouths. My dessert was an excellent assortment of cookies and candy. from a candy shop belonging to the same owner as Blackfish and The Treemont. The staff was very pleasant and attentive.

2d visit on July 11th even better than fist back shortly after the restaurant opened. We were relieved to see many more people than last time. The food is very good. Both innovative and reasonable priced. You also do not leave hungry. We shared the skate special that was nicely prepared and easy to eat. The chef provided pasta dish and biscuits were both very good. We recommend this restaurant if you have not tried it.

With the high ceilings the noise level made talking to your dining companion almost impossible, although the place was half empty. Sounds also reverberated off the new tile walls. The food was expensive and both my companion and I left most of our meals. My fish appeared to be ground and then rolled. It was unattractive and unappetizing. The chicken was moist and flavorful, but also rolled. Very strange.

I like Treemont. Friendly knowledgable service and good quality food. Also love the indoor-outdoor feel of the lower level dining room. We were sat upstairs and requested to be moved downstairs ( no problem;'it was pretty dead). My only complaint is portion size. We shared the fish du jour for 2, but tile fish on the bone, with a lot of bone and a spoonful of quinoa was not much to share. I easily could have eaten the whole thing myself, but not at $40. Our other dining partner ordered the salmon entree for 1, and it was more substantial than our dinner for 2 and looked amazing. The starters too are described as dishes to be shared, but hard to share soup (yummy carrot gazpacho) and my lovely garden fresh salad was perfect for just me.

I really enjoyed the look and feel of the Treemont. The wine list includes several great options including a Barbara D'Asti which is one of my favorites. The menu was also quite strong with several delicious sounding choices. We started with the chickpea fritters. The sauce was nice but overall I found the actual fritters to be fairly mediocre. For my entree, I opted for the Parisian Gnocchi. Again, I felt it was good not great. I did try my wife's chicken dish which was nice. For dessert, I tried the caramels. I appreciated the offering of small chocolates & caramels along with larger desserts. Overall I would score it 3.5/5. It was a nice place with great service but I think there are several better spots for the price in the area.

We dined pre-theater early on a Saturday evening; it was pretty quiet. The restaurant is one block away from the Academy. Kudos to the front of house; extremely friendly, cordial, accommodating and all around nice. Our server, Gabrielle, was also very helpful and did a fine job guiding us to our menu selections. Overall, every item we chose was good but nothing wowed. Nice selection of specialty cocktails and wines by the glass were okay. The cobia and tuna were good appy choices and the highlight was the skate which was the fish du jour and a "bargain" at $40 shared for two. With dessert we didn't leave hungry but maybe could have squeezed in a side. The rhubarb was very tasty and unique. Good coffee. Tradestone caramel = yum!

We ate at The Treemont on a Friday night at 8:00. The menu is small to begin with and they were out of 3 main course items, which is obviously some poor planning on the part of the restaurant. The food was very tasty and portion sizes while not large, were adequate.

This is a beautiful space! Service was great and the food was really tasty and not to mention really pleasing to the eye. There are not that many places like this is in Philly, so savor it! I would recommend the chickpea fritters and clam ceviche. Try the almond cake for one of the best desserts I've had in town! The only problem was one of our fish dishes was completely overcooked (huge mistake for a place like this). This is not for people that just like a nice piece of steak and potatoes. Portions are quite small so you're paying for presentation and fresh/unique ingredients. Drink list is average, though.

This is in my building, so of course I want it to improve, but my parents and I were disappointed. Space is very well-designed. Service was awkward and involved odd interruptions--also got drinks from another table. The entree portions were small. Fish of the day must be ordered for two and wasn't terribly exciting. Appetizer ceviche and oysters were tasty and nicely presented.

I chose to come here for a first time visit . The reviews were all very positive. My thoughts are it is pretty setting, but a little expensive considering they have very small entree portions and smaller appetizers. The wine was good, I chose malbec by the glass, but $14 for a glass is on the higher end . The salmon was very tasty, and well prepared, with a delicious 'sauce', but I had to ask for a spoon to use so that I could actually eat the sauce and again the portion was very small for the price. The chicken was well prepared but lacked seasoning and was nothing special. I probably will not return as the noise level was very high and I do prefer hearing the person with whom I am dining
