The food is excellent although very, expensive. A strange choice for a complimentary appetizer was steak tartar. The flavor was good, but not everyone is a fan of raw meat before dinner (or anytime). We tried the Salmon and the Pepper Steak. Both were delicious and highly recommended. My wife and I are always commenting on how we have a very hard time finding food in the states that matches some of the places we frequented while living in New Zealand. This does just that. Expressed we wanted to go with the tasting menu the night before and all was ready for us to enjoy together with the wine pairings (great service from Greg who organised this). Food was delicious and wine pairings inventive, albeit it not bold but very suited. Ambiance is spectacular, snow falling outside, viewed through floor to cieling windows. Service is exceptional, well looked after by Michael, but all staff make a pass at various times to assist and ensure all is well. Pacing was great as we were allowed to savour the experience. Great dining experience, again1/27/2013 12:00:00 AMSpectacular Sundance diningFirst of two nights dining at The Tree Room whilst at the Sundance Film Festival (note, have been here a number of times before also) & continues to set the bar high on food and service. Ambiance goes without saying is stunning, great wooded & snow views, dining room warm & inviting. Braised Short Ribs & Scallops were excellent - oh & do have the Sundance rolls as worth it (we don't usually have bread as don't want to fill up on, but these are great). Main was Wild Boar Rack and Steak & Frites - very tasty particular the rack. Motto is have as the chef would cook this way you are guaranteed the best, albeit rarer its the way it should be for taste & tenderness.
