The Tobacco Company RestaurantMothers Day BrunchWe hadn't been in a few years & thought the brunch at The Tobacco Company may enhance her Mother's Day. Boy were we wrong!!! Not only was TC everything it always had been in terms of quality and ambiance, but she was over the moon with our choice nd relived a lot of very happy memories through out a delicious meal. She chose the Prime Rib as did two others in our party while I had the crab cakes. Valet promptly handled the parking and we were quickly ushered to our table. Wait staff was excellent. Appetizer's were spot on and the main course arrived right on time. There was a calm but, proper aura and the scenery from my table was beautiful. The staff was readily available to help, even if it wasn't your waiter. I also enjoyed the multi levels and the different formalities on each level. The band playing in the main floor bar area was wonderful, however the volume was so high it hit the obnoxious level. We were a floor up from the band, but couldn't talk; in fact the volume was so high that we had to concentrate to determine if they were even good-not a good thing for the band or the Tobacco Company. Most of the other tables were obviously bothered by it as well to the point that people were commenting between tables. The food was delicious, the service was great, the wine was great... everything definitely met expectations. The only reason this review gives a 4 instead of a 5 is that the quality of ingredients and size of portions on the Restaurant Week menu was not quite the best value given the price. When I have company from out-of-town, this is the first place I think of to take them to lunch. The atmosphere and ambiance are just outstanding! This is a large, busy restaurant with tables rather closely grouped. The multilevel open setting is attractively historic. The first floor hostess was inattentive and unpleasant, essentially forgetting us after asking our party to wait "three or four minutes" to be seated upstairs.
