We were very glad to be able to make a reservation online at the last minute, late in the day before we went there for dinner. We were particularly interested in the steak/lobster special we had seen advertised. Only one of our party had a beverage. The beverage was tonic water and it was flat. They took it back and checked both locations where they could get the tonic water and it was flat at both places; that is just how they were serving it that evening.

When it takes an hour from the time you sit down until you finally ask when you're meal will be ready really almost ruins your appetite and puts a bad taste mouth . Well the food doesn't make up for the inexcusable lack of service ,However ; I can't discount the cooks job in preparing such a perfectly cooked steak and lobster which had my Gf experiencing multifood O's the entire meal and my filet mignon was excellent as well

Atmosphere was not nice, too bright, just dim lights and put candle on tables, how hard is that! Our drinks and salad came quick, but entree took forever and one was cold. Table next to us got food at same time and arrived 15 minutes later and got our hot food as ordered same meal. Coffee shop atmosphere, but what do you expect for $19.99 steak and lobster? Lobster was good, but not much of it, steak was tough. l thought open table was more high end, not this one.

Our server, Christopher was nice and friendly. We ordered the ribeye, surf & turf special, BBQ ribs. The ribeye did not disappoint and the cabernet mushroom was the BOMB! Get the baked potato and skip the garlic mashed potatoes because they were lumpy. The surf & turf was perfect and a great value. Sadly, the ribs were a dud ... no meat and the cornbread wasn't cooked. Overall, it was an enjoyable meal.

The Timbers food is always good and consistent. We have been going there for years (even when it was Timber Cove). The last few times we have had the special (steak and lobster). This dish is large and filling, but not so much that you walk away stuffed. The day of the week doesn't seem to matter, so that must mean that the chefs are closely aligned. We enjoy being able to face the windows much more than being in the front (I always ask for this). Great casual atmosphere, so that you can go right after being outdoors and you are dressed okay. Drink recommendation is the mango/pineapple mojito.

The two ladies at check in were fabulous. Server rushed. Had to ask for condiments such as hot sauce, more bread and water refills. Appeared to be lots of tension vs conflict with the restaurant manager. Lots of hurriedness. Despite making reservations for what I would have expected in the dining area, we were sat at a table in the coffee shop area at the front entrance. I had two guests with me who never been to Tahoe before. I actually was embarrassed. But they wanted to go there because they saw billboard on their way in to Tahoe advertising steak and lobster dinner for $17.99. The actual cost at the restaurant was $19.99.

I have eaten here before but this time I was VERY disappointed in the service and the quality of the food. There was three of us for a Birthday, we ordered the short ribs, the shrimp scampi, and the steak and lobster. It seemed like the steak and lobster and the shrimp were good. My short ribs were very dry and had lots of fat. Not impressed for $28. The server just seemed kinda cold and acted like he didn't want to be there.

Steaks were cooked exactly as we requested. Hearty portions. Very tender. Potato and vegetables, perfect amount of doneness (so many overcook the veggies.) The glazed carrots were a treat. Lobster tail was succulent. This was especially nice since it was a special deal plate. But the regular menu prices were also not bad for a good steakhouse. Service was very good. I was surprised that they automatically brought water in the middle of a drought. The glaring negative at this restaurant is the cigarette smoke from the casino. Also the patrons of the casino that were eating in the restaurant were noisy. Whether we will return to The Timbers is a toss up due to the smoke. Perhaps if we are really hankering for a good steak at a decent price.

We were unfortunate enough to be seated next to a gentleman and his son whose salad order was incorrect. The man and his son came in 15 minutes after us. There was a lobster and steak special that our table of four and the man and his son ordered. After the issue with his food, two of the specials were brought out for him and his son. My table waited another 25 minutes. Our waiter had vanished. We were being ignored. When I motioned to another waitress, she nodded as she walked by them went outside the restaurant to avoid walking by our table. When our food arrived, two plates were hot, two plates were cold. It was obvious they took our food and gave it to the problem table. Not recommended.

We were a party of 9. The waiter had to be asked three time, with no result, for a fork. I finaly had to ask the manager that was walking by for silverware that NON of had at the time of sitting at the table. Two persons in the party came a little late and we had to ask two times for someone to take their order and when they did they only took one order then walked off. One of us had to get up and get the waiter back so we could have him take the last order. But with all of that being said. The food was great. The people nice. The resturant was clean. I might go back again. But there are other places I would go back to first.

My husband and I enjoyed the Steak and Lobster Special for $17.99 each. This included a loaded baked potato and a soup or salad plus wonderful warm cheddar biscuits and sourdough? bread with a dipping dish of olive oil, balsamic vinegar, grated parmesan, and then butter. So good. We had the butternut squash soup (yum) and garden salad and shared. The Lobster dipped in butter was great. The steak was good also. We liked the sweet carrots that accompanied the dish, plus fresh steamed broccoli. You can view the mountains and trees in the distance, so it was quite nice. The only drawback to eating there is having to walk through the casino through the cigarette smoke since I am very sensitive, but it was worth it.

Ordered the Steak and Lobster, now $3 more than the last time. However, at $17.99 with a salad, baked potato and vegetable plus bread, it still is a good value in a resort area. Chris, our waiter, gave us great service. In addition, he cracked the kind of jokes that made us laugh. Almost everyone in the place orders the steak and lobster. If someone in your group does not eat lobster, trade your steak for their lobster.

Twas a quiet Spring evening and there weren't many people in the place. A little hesitant service and a switch of servers later, we had the surf & turf special, $17.99. Not bad but about what you'd expect for a special. Things were nice enough once the service got on track but the atmosphere was just so dead it took away from the relatively attractive decor. And, oh yeah, you're right off the casino floor so sit toward the back unless you like your air nicotine-flavored.

The evening started out with the pleasant surprise that we didn't have to put our name in at the restaurant, and wait for a table. We could make the reservation at home on-line and leisurely head down, have a drink and walk right in. We had heard from friends the steak and lobster dinner was a very good value, and they were right. Salad was good, wine was reasonably priced, lobster and steak very tasty and cooked as requested, baked potato with the works and carrots were good. Bread was attacked with a dull knife and seriously squished, and that was our only negative. Butter dish with dipping vinegar and shredded parmesan nice touch. Dinner ($15 each) for two with wine ($18) and tip ran us $61. We would recommend it.
