Way overpriced for the quality and taste if the food. Ribeye was mediocre. Fish plate was gross. Waitress was nice and helpful but they were very understaffed so service was slow, slow and slower besides being inadequate. Don't waste your money until they get their act together.

The kitchen/service was out of control. In the middle of our appetizer course the entrees were delivered although both were not cooked as we had requested and mine was actually cool. My wife opted to eat her's while mine went back to be cooked. She was done eating by the time my dish came back. The swordfish was actually tasteless, the little sauces was tasty but over all it was awful. The manger gave us some cookies to help us end this disaster on a sweet note: Are you kidding--the whole thing should have been written off. We wasted our Open Table check on this.

Setting: Nice view of downtown Napa from the rooftop. View would be better if the tall plants would be taken down. I had to stand up to see the river. Young professional crown. Very friendly "Napkins". Service: Waitress was friendly but extremely busy. Very attentive bus staff to fill water. Manager came by to ask about experience, which was nice. Food: black truffle babaganoush with assorted veggies was a refreshing appetizer. The tomato bisque was delicious with the cheese puff. The butchers cut was cooked perfectly and paired perfectly with the bone marrow sauce and red (forgot the name). The assorted ice cream dessert was a nice sweet finish but nothing to write home about. Overall good dining experience. Would return monthly.

From the moment we entered The Thomas until we eventually exited almost two and half hours later, the experience was excellent. From carefully crafted cocktails to expertly executed dishes it was clear we came to the right place. The view from the top floor of Napa under the night sky was a lovely touch. The accouterments like black baba and bone marrow béarnaise shone just as bright as the melt-in-your-mouth swordfish, delectable sweetbreads and tender rib eye. Thoughtfully selected wine parings elevated each course to a new level of deliciousness. If you're looking for somewhere to savor and celebrate, look no further than The Thomas.

This is the third [and last] time I've had terribly slow service at The Thomas. We arrived on time at 7:30 and were told by the server when we placed our order that "on Saturday nights it takes 25 minutes for the food to be prepared and served." While this announcement made me leery, we were not in a hurry. But it wasn't 25 minutes.....it was 90 minutes! Crazy. I think they have a kitchen that cannot serve the number of tables they have. The food was not hot when delivered which just added to our disappointment. There are too many great restaurants in Napa with good service and hot food to bother with The Thomas again.

Made reservation on Sunday night at 9:30. Arrived and kindly greeted, got seated on terrace overlooking downtown napa, great view and set up. After ordering drinks and an appetizer, placed started to clear up and by 1010, felt rushed with servers and other employees cleaning and closing up. Food came out cold and wrong, can't send it back since we were informed kitchen was closed. Bland flavors, nothing special or wow factor. Didn't get a chance to order another drink or offered a dessert menu. We sat 9:30 and left at 10:15. Can think of many other ways to spend 120 bucks and have a nicer dinner for 2.

This was my first time @ The Thomas and we were seated in the rooftop dining room , which is nice but does not have a particularly good view and was very crowded......we had to listen to the guy at the next table for most of the evening. The food was good , the service was fine, but we were not interested in dessert mainly because it was just too loud and lacking privacy......maybe we are just getting too old for that level of noise ! We would probably not go back, because there are just better options for a nice meal in Napa.......

Service slow, Had eggs over easy and both yolks were semi hard boiled. Waitress came to check on our food nearly 20 minutes after delivery to check how everything was. When I complained about my eggs she then offered to replace them!! My wifes salmon was very dry and had to ask for refills on her momosas. Very disappointing brunch!

Reservation made a MONTH in advance because we wanted to be on the rooftop during a full moon night. We requested the rooftop when we made the reservation. When we got to the restaurant we were informed that the rooftop was not available because there were "large parties." Question as to why no one told us this before we drove down there and also question how it is that large parties got preference to a party of 3 who made a reservation a month in advance. Food was very good. Service was not great. Cocktails arrived after our appetizer was served. Entrees arrived before cocktails were cleared or appetizer was finished. Virtually no bus staff/table maintenance. Cocktail glasses and appetizer sat on our table throughout whole meal.

Our group of two locals and four visitors loved The Thomas on Saturday afternoon. I was concerned from other reviews that it might be too hot or crowded, but it was perfect. Our party was seated promptly at our 12:45pm reservation time just inside the top floor doors to the rooftop patio. Service was very attentive, and the food was great. I was very tempted to get the banana and nutella stuffed french toast, but was feeling more in the mood for a savory lunch before a day of wine tasting. Four of us had the fried chicken sandwich which was perfectly prepared. The accompanying french fries were to die for. We shared a bottle of Roederer Estate sparkling rose, and a couple of us had beer or wine.

We had a great seat in the banquette by the stairs for 4 of us. There was a lot of activity going up and down the stairs so that was a bit of a distraction particularly when the trip back down the stairs was a bit more challenging for those that had too much to drink. The food was outstanding but sometimes the service was spotty. They just need ot work on having their servers come to the table more often to poor the wine, check on things et al.

Decided to try the burger at The Thomas as I didn't feel like cooking at home. Of course I was craving a burger and as I live in walking distance to Downtown Napa, The Thomas had a reservation available in case the bar was full. It took some time to get our table set as they were busy. We dined on the 2nd floor which was very uncomfortable due to the weather, it was very stuffy and humid. The chairs are very uncomfortable for the quality of the restaurant. First time I had sat on the level. Our server, Anna was a lot of fun. We both ordered burgers which we were told would take 20 minutes. The burgers took closer to 30-40 mins but were worth the wait. Overall, service & food was spot on. Disappointed with no air flow and my chair.

Had a wonderful brunch and took a friend visiting from out of town. Made the last reservation of the day at 2:15 on a Sunday. We were recommended to this restaurant by locals. We loved the quaint ambiance of the dining rooms (on 3 levels). We couldn't help but think the overall space felt very "hipster" and that turned us off from the overall experience.

Will go down as one of our worst-ever dining experiences. Went specifically to sit on the roof, called ahead and said we could be seated up there - no problem. 15 minutes later when we arrived, we were told that the roof was rented out for a party. Halibut was raw on the bottom but overcooked on the top (not even sure how that is possible given that it was poached), $34 bisque lacked main ingredient (lobster) and was an oil slick. Server was nowhere to be found throughout our entire meal. We asked for the Manager and he/she never came, asked again downstairs at the front door and waited for 15 minutes until we gave up. There is nothing that could get me to go back.

Service was spectacular from start to finish. Hostess was more than accommodating, bar staff was on top of it all and waiter was perfect. 3 of us dined. 2 of us had steak, me the rib eye and our guest had the "Butcher's Cut". We both ordered medium rare and while her "Butcher's Cut" was cooked perfectly my rib eye was well done. That was a small disappointment, but the seasoning was perfect. Our waiter offered to have a new steak fired and I insisted that it was OK. And actually, it was really good the next morning with my eggs. Leftovers are always better, right?
