The buffet has an array of selections from cold cereals, baked fresh pastries, eggs, sausage, pancakes, made to order omelets and a waffle station. We also feature a Japanese station with fresh fish. The casual setting is enhanced by a plantation-inspired design. Open daily and on special holidays.

This was my first time at the Ritz Carlton in Kapalua. My husband and I went there for breakfast and was pleased with the service and the food. Their breakfast buffet was very nice with a nice variety of food. They also had a station where they would make you an egg omelet and huge waffles. You must try their Maui Mimosas. They are a bit pricey, but it's vacation right? Definitely a place that we would go back to or recommend.

I was very disappointed in my overall experience at The Terrace. It was very quiet the day I was there but there was no ambiance at all and the service was just okay. There was nothing remarkable about the food at all. Again, it was mediocre at best and expensive and not worth it.Conniegirl I have not gone back during my stay at the Ritz Carlton and will not in the future.

Each time we return to Maui, we make it a point to have breakfast at the Ritz. The staff is very attentive, especially to our children. They love the daily smoothies! Great variety, awesome fruit and the best banana bread on earth!

Look for no more. if $40 a person for world class buffet (including omelette station) is within your budget, just go for it. Excellent quality of food, service and ambience. Free valet parking. Breathtaking views.

I don't have a clue what people were thinking when they recommended this place for brunch. Dennys offers up similar food with better consistency and for less than half the price. Furniture is dated, dirty and sags. At 1030 we were the only people there and the dining room was being cleaned up...so rude, clanging and banging and the like very unexpected at a place of this caliber. The only highlights were our server, she was really friendly and tended to our needs, and the view is quite nice. If you are going to come here, leave your palate at home as you won't need it. Four star resort, four star service with one star food. Come on this is supposed to be the Four Seasons!

The wait staff at the Terrace could not have been more inviting to us. We had just renewed our vows on the beach, and they all knew it ahead of time, so everyone wished us congratulations in a very friendly way. The food was well prepared, and our waiter, Kevin, kept bringing us more, even though it was a buffet. We were all impressed with the food, the service and the view of the Pacific. Thanks for making this special day even more special to us!

This was not brunch, this was breakfast. Just eggs, cereal, muffins. Our reservations were for 11 and they made us feel rushed and in the way. Disappointing. We have eaten at other Ritz Carltons and had some expectations that were far from met.

Quite a lot to choose from on the breakfast buffet. For $38 it includes the buffet plus you can order off the menu. I must say its difficult to justify spending $38 for breakfast but it's a nice occasional treat. We've had breakfast here multiple times over the last 8 years and it never disappoints. Service is wonderful too!

The Terrace at the Ritz Kapalua has an amazing brunch buffet with everything from a fresh granola making bar to an omelette bar with an enthusiastic, professional and very skilled chef. Then, imagine everything in between stuffed french toast, delicious hash browns and even chicken apple sausage. Other things from the menu are also included in the buffet option, such as macadamian banana pancakes. Beautiful view with your brunch as well as if the food wasn't amazing enough on its own. The Terrence is a must go for all.

Simply put: overpriced!. It's breakfast food! Not filet mignon. Just because it's the Ritz-Carlton, doesn't mean you can charge more for scrambled eggs.

  • Not bad breakfast/brunch buffet

Although they have a nice selection of breakfast buffet items, I had some issues: the bagels were old (even had some moldy spots), we ordered our eggs benedict medium but one of them came out hard, bacon was cooked to a crisp (I prefer mine a little softer), turkey sausage really tasted like turkey sausage, and their pineapple was sour. We did really enjoy their egg items (minus the overcooked eggs benedict). The ambiance was comfortable and relaxing. The service was awesome, very friendly and attentive. But there was one waiter (not ours) who made a rude comment when our 8 month old made a loud noise (can you really help it?). He said "That sounded like a dying cat!" out loud and caused several customers nearby to laugh. I was offended.

Service and food at the Terrace was great! On 10/25/11 we had lunch at Ala Loa (spelling?)dining near main lobby. Service was slower (sat down with 1 hour for lunch) and we barely made it to our meeting. Servers were friendly, but meal preparation and billing took longer than we expected

Great view. Had their breakfast buffet. Wish they had more choices, but the food they did have was delicious. They had cook to order mahi mahi. We ordered it twice. Took forever to get the first order and it has a tiny little piece of fish...half the size of a credit card. It was delicious. We had to order it again...also waited a long time. :(

While on vacation in Maui ( not staying at the Ritz) we ate at the Terrace restaurant seeking a moderately priced experience. (This is how it was advertised) We had previously eaten at their more high end restaurant -Banyan Tree and enjoyed it. The restaurant was AS EXPENSIVE as the Banyan Tree - meaning $40 entrees and not very good. The food at the Terrace was very disappointing, not on the calibre of what I would expect from this hotel. They were understaffed that night. The food took more than 40 minutes to arrive and when it did arrive, they brought the WRONG dish. I would not recommend this restaurant.

While the food is good enough, the fact that a couple with 2 young daughters was allowed to let their children run amok in the restaurant totally ruined the experience. Management, if at all present, had no clue/did not attempt to remedy the situation by secluding this family in the restaurant where disuption to other guests' meals/experience would have been minimal.

The Terrace Restaurant is quite large. There were only three couples in the entire restaurant, yet the hostess seated us right next to another couple. We ordered drinks- my husband a cocktail and I a glass of wine. The glass that was served had 4 oz. of wine ( for $12.00) We ordered "Hawaiian Barbecued Ribs" . They tasted like they had been cookedt two days before and were reheated in a microwave- so bad that neither of us could eat them. At that point, we asked for the check and left.

This was VERY DISAPPOINTING! Especially since it was at the Ritz-Carlton, our expectations were high, so we were very disappointed in the service, and embarrassed for the chef for the proportions that were served. We split our meals, and we were pleased with the amount of salad we were given, but the entrees were ridiculous. We might have each received MAYBE -- ONE TABLESPOON each OF RICE with four 1/2 spears of asparagus, and the smallest of serving of the entree.... have never seen such a small amount served at a very high price!

  • After having pricey buffets
    DiningCaper
    Dined on 12/3/2009
After having pricey buffets at the Kaanapali Beach resorts I figured I'd try the Ritz to see what I had been missing. Overall, it was only slightly better. However, st the same cost, forand a short drive, it is a relative value. The cost was similar to most of the Kaanapali resorts-$29/person. Most of the food was the same quality as at the resorts. The quality of the muffins were somewhat better and the waffles and cheeses were marginally better. The scrambled eggs were no different (that is somewhat boring, as w/all places I tried). Either because of its location, the perceived costliness, or both, there were less people there, which I prefer and the inside seating with a view was a nice change from competing with the birds.

We arrive at the Restaurant and had to waited several minutes before anyone in the room acknowledge us. It was not because they were busy, quite the opposite. There were only two other parties having dinner. We had the Prix-fixe dinner that evening, and ordered a bottle of Hall Cabernet. The wine was not stored well, it was a bit on the warm side, on top of that we had to ask for Red wine glasses.

My husband and I really liked this restaurant. We ate at all the great restaurants on the island for two weeks and this one was a stand out.The food was fantastic and the service on the spot. I have a gluten/soy intolerance problem and when we mentioned this to the lovely waitress Lisa, she notified the chef Ray-Ray who came out of the kitchen to discuss this with me. He prepared a delicious meal, even sent over gluten free bread which was so kind. I have never received this level of attention/consideration from any restaurant. We ate here on our last night and wish it had been our first night so we could go back.

We can not give you any ratings for this restaurant, because the day before leaving on our vacation to Maui we recieved a phone call from this restaurant telling us they had changed the hours of operation and would not be open at the time we had booked our reservation! We then had to scramble and settle for a different restaurant. We should have called initally and not used your service/internet, because they don't check the online reservations regularly and didn't notify your service about their change of hours[or your website wasn't updated]. Whatever, we were disappointed in this service.
