Had the cheese plate and mussels. The cheese plate was pretty much small pieces of cheese purchased at Trader Joe's - and also contained two pickled vegetables - onions and carrots - that really didn't go well with the cheese plate. The bread was a bit hard and stale. The mussels were OK; however, the chef needed to cook down the alcohol a bit more. All i tasted was white wine. The owner as well lurked around our table and he smelled of cigarette smoke. Not a positive experience at all.

Went to dinner with a few friends. Restaurant was busy. Looked like they had a large group dinning in an entire section. While a majority of the tables were occupied. Seemed to only be one server working. She didn't seem to let that faze her. She did a great job. She did apologies in advance for any wait we might have. We did notice what looked like the owner. Doing nothing but staring at his server. Seemed very rude. Not once did he smile or approach us to see how we were doing. The service and entrées male this place worth comong back to...

We dine here often. Absolutely love this place. The food and atmosphere are fantastic. We recommend asking for either Diane, who seems to be there almost every day. Or Crystal. Both are great and manage to make the already good restaurant better.

We dined at the Terraces for New Year's eve and I felt as though they took advantage of the special occasion to raise their prices without improving on their food. In choosing to dine at this restaurant I checked the menu online and it was very reasonable ($12 - $26 range). When I arrived for dinner, the menu had been replaced with a new menu with many of the same dinner selections, but the price for everything was $29. In our party we ordered the pasta dish which would have been fine at $15-$18, but was very overpriced at $29, the filet (ordinarily priced at $25), which had not been properly trimmed, the NY steak (ordinarily priced at $24), which was 1/2 fat, and the pork chops which were done well. All in all a disappointment!

We were here on a Friday night and the place was moderately busy. Food was good to very good. I would say very good, except for the fried calamari... it had as many peppers as it did calamari, and the breading was bland and nothing special. Everything else, however, was very good. I will definitely give it another try. There aren't many places this nice in Poway!

We have been here more than once, the food is consistently excellent. My husband ordered the pan fried Filet Mignon which he loved and he is particular when it comes to his steaks. I had the Seafood Pasta which had a lot of jumbo shrimp, huge scallops, clams and mussells, it was excellent. We also had the grilled artichoke appetizer which was very good. For dessert we ordered a brownie dessert. The chef himself came out to opologize about not having the brownie so they gave us another dessert free. It was a cheese cake which was also very good, not to sweet like some are. Overall meal was excellent and service is good. We did recommend to our friends that live in Rancho Bernardo.

Charming little restaurant in Poway, formerly called The House on the Hill. It's been under new ownership for the past year, although I never went to it before, I have to say I am very impressed with it now. It's a cute little place on top of a hill, can be a little hard to find the entrance. Great drink menu, and my husband was impressed with his martini size and that they gave him a glass of extra olives! Our appetizers were delicious and my husband I both ordered a bacon wrapped filet which was so tender and cooked to perfection. I checked in on yelp and that opened an offer for a free dessert so we had these donut-like puff pastries with chocolate and banana dipping sauces- and they were amazing! We will definitely be back!

We went at 6pm on Saturday night. They had a large group in the front dining room who were very quiet. We were seated by the window in the skyline room. The ambiance was ok. The food was very good. My husband had the NY City Blues. The steak had some gristle in it but the Burgundy wine and Mushroom reduction with the cheese was delicious. It also had homemade fries . I ordered the lamb, which was perfect but the sides only consisted of a few pieces on broccolini & 6-7 fingerling potatoes. I would have liked a little more vegis. I should have ordered a salad but that's just me. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant.

The staff was very accommodating to our large group. Our server was friendly, efficient, had a great sense of humor, and when she saw the cameras coming out, she asked if she could take the pictures for us! The food was absolutely delicious! The ambiance was cozy and warm. Our private room felt like we were celebrating in someone's home - so inviting.

Had grilled artichoke hearts that were yummy but impossible to eat without making a huge mess. I had filet that had a delicious sweel balsamic and carmelized onion sauce with mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. It would have been a perfect meal if the filet, I requested as medium rare wasn't very rare. Ambiance was nice. service was on par. Worth trying it again.

We came to the Terrace to celebrate a birthday, and our first impression was that the patio dining area was great! Rustic, with trees, a pretty view, and a nice breeze to keep us cool. The server was a little slow, but that was fine since we were taking it slowly anyway. I was happy with the food, but the wine list is amazingly limited! And no local craft beers? San Diego has more than 100 local microbreweries-why not highlight some of them?!! We'll return to the Terrace when we want to relax and enjoy a sunny afternoon/evening, so we'll be back in the Spring!

I gave a 2 overall 1. Only people there, I made a res for 12:15, they open at 11 on Sunday. Peculiar 2. I ordered caesar to start, dressing was nice, refreshing, the croutons were so HARD, similar to eating hard candy 3. Server didn't offer fresh cracked pepper for my salad 4. The wine list was such a mess, didn't see it on the menu, but ordered a glass of prosecco 5. Ordered the waygu burger, it was good, homemade chips were greasy, hard, my brunch partner wouldn't eat them *6. check came:glass of prosecco 15.00, didn't even taste right. How can you charge $12. for a waygu burger but $15. for a glass of wine. The server didn't warn me, that's what they charge at the Chateau Marmont in Hollywood, sorry your no Chateau, not

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at The Terrace. He took me to dinner there for my birthday. We had a wonderful indoor table near a big window overlooking the outside deck dining area. I wanted to sit inside because at 6:00 p.m. (the time of our reservations) it was too sunny for me on the deck. The service was fantastic. Our waitress was friendly, attentive without being invasive. She kept my water glass filled which I always appreciate. She was not as knowledgeable about the beers they have there (over 30 brands) as I felt she should be but I just chose one I recognized and knew I liked. That was a minor thing to me. Our food was prepared well and tasted great and it was presented very well. Kudos to this place.

He forgot our salad we ordered ala carte but did apologize when I mentioned it. Food was great & redeemed itself. we will give it another try because of that. We requested to be seated on the patio which was a nice setting under a large tree. It was surrounded by a low fence with high plexiglass walls so that the view was still pretty neat of the surrounding area but help ward off some of the evening breeze (which was a bit chilly). Fortunately, there are heaters which help mitigate this effect. The service was good, and food was fresh and good. We had the calamari, mango BBQ chicken and the New York Strip which were both very good and were fairly well portioned, unlike some restaurants. The ambience was nice but once the DJ fired up the music, it raised the noise level up a notch which made conversation a bit difficult. Overall, though, we had a pleasant experience and would definitely return.
