The view and location are excellent, food very nice and light, suitable for an afternoon of sightseeing. The only negative was the service did not meet the level to which the establishment is trying to attain. The server was abrupt, did not follow the pace at which we wished to dine and was more suited for working at a family restaurant.

  • Mission Hill is tops!

I have travelled all over the world, and eaten at many wineries. Mission Hill is at the top in terms of the splendid views of Lake Okanogan from the top of the mountain coupled with dining on a gorgeous outdoor terrace. The chef's tasting menu was outstanding with Mission Hill wine pairings. I returned for the fourth time after having a class reunion lunch on the Terrace a few years ago. The Kelowna wineries, with their bistros, restaurants, and continuously improving wine productions with phenomenal views of beautiful British Columbia provide a superior wine tasting vacation than Napa Valley. Once the Americans and Europeans figure this out, look out!

My wife and I went to Mission Hill's fantastic restaurant "The Terrace" for our honeymoon and we were just amazed how great the experience was. The wines at Mission Hill are top notch and go great with any food that you order off of the menu. The food is prepared by amazing chefs that create food in the form of artwork. The food has so much flavour you will just want to savour it and sip your wine while enjoying the great scenery and company. The service is fantastic and the location is like no other. You dine on Mission Hills Terrace that overlooks the vineyards and the beautiful blue Okanagan Lake. I will continue to visit this winery and restaurant anytime I find myself in Kelowna and I would encourage anyone else to do the same.

Went to the Terrace for lunch on Thursday July 7 and had a wonderful experience. Delicious menu. Wine flights are terrific, as is the mist. Our table can be a handful, but the service remained elegant and keen. The manager Genelle is delightful, she made us feel very important and has a terrific sense of humour. We will be back!!

Food was fine, but over priced. We were very disappointed in the wine offerings. The wine was inferior, and yet grossly overpriced. Even more annoying, the same wine was 1/2 the price in the wine shop across the yard. Will not recommend this restaurant, nor will I return.

While we had an enjoyable experience at The Terrace, the wind (which the restaurant obviously has no control over) detracted from the ambience, as the screens had to be lowered, effectively limiting the great view. The service however, did leave much to be desired as our server was slow, forgetful, had no knowledge of the menu, was unable to make any food or wine suggestions and was not at all attentive. The food was fine, the wine was good, but the overall experience just wasn't what we expected.

As this place is advertised as one of the top 5 paito winery restaurants in the world i find that hard to believe. That must be a personal opnion. I have work in some of the top restaurants as rate on the san pellergino top 100 and can tell you that this is niot even remotly close to a top five restaurant. Food was just ok maple brine ruined the flavour of the beef the bisque was one dimenisonal and tasted like lobster bisque rather than spot prawn and was very rich some dry sherry would have been a nice finish. The paperdalle was cooked nice but too many of the noodles were stuck together and those ones were under cooked very disappointing. The service well it did not exist and the food runneres were biting their finger nails on patio

Had Lunch on Wednesday June 22nd. The setting was spectacular, the food was good, the service was also good (becky) but the hostess/floor manager should be more attentive to her clients. She walked by our table at least 6 times and yet never stop to check and us. We were the second table to be seated. The dessert was a fantastic Chocolate bomb! I will go back but hope to see a more pleasant and attentive hostess at the door

I've been to Mission Hill's Terrace for lunch, which is lovely after a tour of the winery, but for dinner, the chef and team outdo themselves. Let alone the spectacular views afforded by Mission Hill's unique and beautiful setting, the artistry of the cuisine puts this restaurant high above other winery restaurants. A brilliant culinary note is the chef using all the choicest parts of a duck and arranging them on the plate in such a way as to make an Iron Chef seething with jealousy. Presentation of all dishes is superb, iPhone ready. Mission Hill has a nice selection of their own wines to pair, and the chef obviously designs the menu around them. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough.

My guests were a restauranteur, his chef and my sister. The goal: inspiration. The result: inspired. Two of us ordered the gastronomy menu and two ordered a-la-carte. Lisa handled our tricky order with aplomb, and the food was spectacularly delicious, the wine pairings successful and the overall feeling was of being in another world. All that said, we felt relaxed, unrushed and encountered not a scrap of stuffiness. To finish the evening off, we had some incredible desserts, followed by a small sample of 2007 Oculus, the signature wine of Mission Hill. While we all agreed that it was a little young to be drinking, we were impressed by what we found in the glass, I'm looking forward to opening the bottles I bought in a few years!

From the moment you drive through the gates you know your in for a special treat and what a treat it turned out to be. From the views, the service, the quality of food, to the wine list to the most mouth watering meal I have tasted. The only way it could have been any better was if there was a Bell tower echoing in the background, Oh wait there was. This is the most romantic place to bring that someone special, we even had the pleasure of having a rainbow form just out of arms reach over Lake Okanagan. Our waitress kept bringing us little treats to try through our meal, wow what a bonus. After a meal like that, I only have one thing to say " You can take me now".

The view is super nice. We have good time with the view but not food and services. The beginning halibut dish was way too salty. However, the services is not high quality as it. If I spend that much money, I believe I should get at last good quality services. In this case, I believe I can go the Keg this type of restaurant to get better services than The Terrace gave me this time. When we told server that our halibut is too salt. She told us "I don't know, do you want to change something else?" It was really embarrassed that make she felt that she was the one who costing the trouble. The servers took over 30 mins to give us the bill and we wait so long to pay so we need to stand up and find someone to pay the bill. Super embarrassed!!!!

This place is at an outstanding location with a wonderful view. Service was perfect. Food presentation the best I can recall and the staff was terrific. The menu is special - Duck, Sea Bass, Rack of Lamb... no chicken dishes, no beef or no pork.. a menu that would be great for some and not for other If you are hungry, this is not the place. Meals are minute. Priced moderately example.. Rack of Lamb ($30+) was delicious, and well presented - but it consisted on ONE small rib with about 1.5 oz of meat. I have had larger appetizers. We enjoyed our visit - and appreciated the wonderful service, but ended up stopping at a coffee shop for a sandwich on the way home. Any return is out. This was a "oncer" for us.

Extremely slow service. Special 5 course meal was brought out in wrong order, wine pairings were poured long before food partner was plated, and they ran out of one of the main dishes half way through and had to substitute another dish we had not ordered. Our friend laughed at the ridiculously small portions that made up each course. When you consider that the night cost us 400 dollars for three people with no extra drinks or wine it proved to be a poor outlay of money. The manager stopped and apologized about the substitute but that was the only acknowledgement that it was a very sub-par but costly experience.
