  • "First time there. We know we will be back. Small menu about plenty to choose from. The tuna dish was great. So was the sword fish. Fishes were cooked the way each person wanted it. Salads and desserts were great. Great local restaurant . Tables were not on top of each other."

  • "Prices got a little higher, not sure it's worth it but will continue to go. Service excellent. Of course, view and ambiance great. Sometimes food is good and sometimes just okay. It was lunch and waitress was waiting for Chef to say what specials were and there weren't any."

  • "Absolutely awesome jumbo "shrimp" cocktail, cannot believe its size & It did not take away from the taste. My date felt similarly. Still talking about my steak dinner! It was perfectly cooked medium-rare & juicy. The string beans were crispy so as to preserve all of the nutrients (the way string beans & broccoli should be served!), ordered a side dish ($7, a tad much) because I've never had string beans in any restaurant as crispy! The 16oz steak practically weighted 16-cooked oz. Literally no fat or bone & there was no waste whatsoever, the grill flavor was throughout & in every bite, very succulent. I felt the accompanied sauce took away from the grill flavor & found it too salty for my taste, only used it once to taste it. Will return!"

  • "5 of us went there for Restaurant Week. Instead of the restaurant putting their best foot forward, it was the worst restaurant that I went to during Restaurant Week. I might add that I went to 3 others. The appetizer wasn't what we order, the entrée menu only had hamburgers and salads. My friend had a salad that had brown leaves (awful). I had a cheese burger and fries. The fries were limp (not very good). As I said before there were 5 of us and when I asked for bread because there wasn't any on the table 4 slices were brought to us. Several of us ordered Chocolate Bread Pudding, regular pudding was served and when I asked why it wasn't chocolate I was told that white chocolate was used. Won't be going there again."

  • "Food was very good and we had a great waiter. Not very crowded for a Friday lunch during Restaurant Week. My only complaint is that the "hostess" lingered on the phone for a good ten minutes while I stood there with another person who did not arrive with me.. Even after she hung up the phone, she seemed reluctant to seat me ( I was waiting for a friend) and the other person sat at the bar. I don't think that is professional or appropriate hostess behavior."

  • "There were five tables of diners the entire time we were there and it took almost 20 minutes for appetizers to arrive. The clams casino were inconsistent - some were cold, some very fishy. The mussels entrée had so much garlic that you felt the garlic burn the back of your throat. Frites very well done! Chocolate bread pudding was suppose to be dessert, not what we received. I think it was a vanilla bread pudding, no explanation for the menu change was given. Coffee was not offered, we had to ask for cappuccino. Overall, very disappointing lunch - I'm sad to say!"

  • "We chose The Terrace Club on Hudson Valley Restaurant week because they featured an innovative menu. The raw bar was especially outstanding offering several varieties of east and west coast shellfish. We chose seafood shepherd's pie and the Amish chicken with mushrooms as entrees followed by the chocolate bread pudding with gelato, The service was efficient and friendly."

  • "The new Terrace Club decor and menu is fantastic. Great food, views and service as always. The new raw bar is a nice touch."

  • "Had to be the worst experience at a restaurant that I ever had. The waitress didn't even know that they were offering 'family style" meals on Sundays. She coud not tell us about the oysters, she directed us to to blackboard. Two of the meals we needed to send back because they were actually unedible. The balance of the meals were edible but ot enjoyable. The fried calamari tasted like it came out of a bag from the freezer. The glasses were dirty. It was a disaster. The only reason I would go back is to sit outside in the summer for a drink only, no food."

  • "We tried out the Terrace Club as part of the Hudson Valley Restaurant Week promotion. We liked the atmosphere and energy level but we had to wait more than a half hour although we had a confirmed reservation. Two friends ordered the seafood shepards pie and both were disappointed with it as it had a very strong taste. I ordered the salmon which they were out of but offered the same dish with Tilapia...it was fine but nothing memorable. The desserts were the best part of the meal. This is a still a nice spot and worth a visit if you are in the area."

  • "Totally worth the experience. I love the truffle poocorn which they offer at the table and bar. Water views from nearly every table. Every item I have sampled has been foodie level quality with corresponding value for your money. I had shrimp tacos once and they were generous and delish. Looking forward to going again."

  • "We first enjoyed drinks at the newly redone, very chic, and definitely hopping bar! Later, we ordered a variety of fresh seafood from the new raw bar..oysters, shrimp & lobster cocktail. It was the best we ever had! We then all shared bowls of the pasta special, house made cavatelli with a lamb ragu. It had enough flavor to fill the room! Our dinner entree's included salmon, tuna, and the mixed grill special. The presentation and taste were phenomenal. Scott, our server, and the rest of the staff, were spectacular. His knowledge of specials and the fish on the menu was impressive. One of the servers was always right behind us ready to refill our wine or our water. We were not rushed, and enjoyed a great night with friends and family."

  • "Usually a good experience, this time just OK. Mixed grill was sub par for the price - gamey lamb, chewy steak. I had the sea bass which was ok, very light flavor, very small portion. Service was inattentive for being one of 3 tables in use. I would still go back as the good dining experiences definitely outnumber the bad. We all have off days."

  • "Wonderful presentation! High quality food. Portion size was smaller than expected with price paid, and fair to poor service make price paid even more disappointing. Might try again but with so much good competition in area might take awhile to give another shot. Sometimes a restaurant only gets one shot at a regular customer."

  • "Service was very slow at first (15 min to order wine) and our table was near a door leading into an unheated section that was opened and closed 12 times giving us an arctic blast each time. Very unpleasant !!! They shouldn't seat anyone at this table or set up the dining area before they open so they don't have to go in there."

  • "The menu is very heavy on seafood. Fancy preparations, which is ok, but the menu should include better descriptions of the dishes"

  • "They just freshened up the restaurant with new bright yellow curtains and a raw bar. There is a new chef and menu. We went on Sunday expecting to have lunch but they were serving brunch. The brunch menu is slightly odd because oysters and French toast are not a great mix. Since not many people were ordering oysters we had a problem when we did. The shucker had gone home and had to be called back in. We waited about 45 minutes for any food. they did not even bring our beverages. They were very apologetic and gave us complementary coffees and dessert. Since we have always like this restaurant we will give them another chance"

  • "The Terrace Club has undergone some very nice renovations, they added a raw bar with excellent, extremely fresh seafood. The new seafood chef is very dedicated and believes in sustainable seafood, a concept which he may still have to explain to the restaurant's owner in detail, however. There are still items on the menu not considered sustainable seafood, but the chef promised to change that. We enjoyed a very good meal, the service was outstanding, and overall it was a wonderful evening at a favorite neighborhood place that will remain on our list of places for a great meal in a nice atmosphere!"

  • "This is a beautiful spot in NYC with a lovely ambiance and nice views of the city, but you have to know it is there. It is on an upper floor of a residence owned by Columbia University. The food and the service are outstanding."

  • "The Terrace Club just completed a makeover, completely new menu and interior renovations. The menu has a lot of fish, and shell fish. They have a beautiful new raw bar. The fish was very fresh and exceptionally well prepared. The renovations are beautiful and have spruced up the interior considerably. Service was always good and remains good. this is one of our favorite placds to go."

  • "I was there on Friday....when I asked the waitress if I could substitute polenta instead of mashed potatoes with my salmon she said it would be an additional $3.00. I found that was strange in a restaurant that is considered one of the nicer places to dine in Mahopac. I have been there many times and the food was good, although the friend I was with had never been there and was also surprised by the 3 dollar charge."

  • "The waitress was not very friendly...she recommended we buy an appetizer bc pork takes a long time. We ordered sliders for 4 and were brought 3 without knowing how many sliders were offered in the serving. The portions were very small and they were all out of specials"

  • "Great ambience and service. However, we found the food to be inconsistent. The mushroom ravioli was excellent. The grilled salmon was very good. However, the grilled chicken entrees were on the dry side and not as enjoyable as we had hoped for."
