Service was less than spectacular. Food was decent. Maybe it was because we were late for lunch and just ahead of dinner... Lunch and dinner menu the same, just higher prices

Consistently very good food with a touch of uniqueness, I specifically recommend the artichoke appetizer and the huge beef rib, but have found nothing about the food lacking. Now the atmosphere is a tad 'sportsbar-like and noisy

The Tavern is becoming my "go-to" place restaurant. The food is always tasty and the service is fully accommodating! We ordered the miso salmon with green tea noodles and were surprised that the salmon was hot and the noodles were cold. At first we thought there had been an error in the kitchen but the mgr came to our table quickly when she heard that we were a bit disappointed about the temperature. We found out that indeed the noodles were supposed to be chilled but there was an offer to bring out more noodles that had been heated and we truly appreciated that! Personally, I preferred the noodle warmed because I could taste more of the surprising spiciness! I suggested that they let folks know the temp of the dish before ordering.

Tried this place because it got good reviews on Open Table, but ended up being disappointed. Our server was new and not ready to fly solo on a busy Saturday night. Did not provide us cocktail menus and was not knowledgeable of liquor served at bar. Took 20 minutes to get our drinks served...and another 20 between rounds 1 and 2. Appetizers were great, but half our party's entrees were cold when served. I had braised beef rib, which was tasty but it was though someone dumped ice cold BBQ sauce on it straight from the fridge just prior to serving. Another other person ordering ribs sent her entree back since it was so cold. I might give this place another try, but I was not impressed.

We drove from Plano to eat at the Tavern. Had been before when we were in town for a wedding. We liked it so much we went twice. We met friends that were in town from Austin for a wedding. The food was very good except for the fried chicken. Now the service was very bad! Slow, slow and with a bad attitude to boot! Not sure it would be worth the drive in the future?

I have never experienced a worse drink ordered from a bar in my life and that is no exaggeration. The drinks I and the other person ordered came looking like another glass of water. I ordered a Crown & Water and it came looking like a glass of water and had a faint taste of Crown. Should have sent the $8.00 glass back but I'm not a complainer and just drank it. Don't know what the other person ordered but she also said her drink was a joke. Lousy bar and strictly a rip off.

We have been dining at the Tavern several times per month for the past several years. Over the past 6 months, the service and quality really seems to be declining. They have been out of the pastrami on our last three visits which has been a huge disappointment. Several months ago, they took off the banana creme pie which was also one of our favorites. They had it last week but it wasn't as good as it has been in the past. I really hope they get their act together.

After reading several good reviews decided to try it. Was extremely disappointed upon arrival to find it was just a hole in the wall place in a shopping area. The noise level was extremely loud with tvs, bar noise and two large groups. The wait on food was quite long for just a sandwich. The avocado dip was one big chunk of avocado and the cheese dip tasted like cheese whiz from a jar. All the food was extremely salty especially for a place supposedly cooking organically fresh. The waitress was nice and her service was good which I would say was the only good part of the dining experience.

It was a girls night dinner and we needed to find an in the middle place to meet. We selected Fort Worth where I found great reviews for The Tavern. We had dinner at The Tavern and what a wonderful restaurant. I can't say enough good things about this place from the food to the service. I would highly recommend The Tavern to anyone. And now I plan to bring my husband the next time, because it's worth the trip from Frisco.

We just moved to the area and dined at the Tavern thanks to my brothers rec's. Our server was wonderful and the food was fantastic! I love the fresh foods (no freezer in the place) and the usage of local suppliers. They even make their dressings from scratch everyday. Great food and wine, service was wonderful! We will be back!!

Our return trip to the Tavern is best described as "consistent" and that means success. The fish tacos and brisket tacos were once again spot on. The new draft beer list provided an opportunity to try something different. The wine list is not extensive, but adequate. Unfortunately, my wife received the last available glass of her favorite Pinot Noir, which should not happen early on a Friday night. Our service was prompt, helpful, and exactly as we have come to expect from the Tavern. The food quality and service keeps us coming back to this great neighborhood restaurant.

Based on several very good dinner experiences, we tried The Tavern for brunch last Sunday. It was good, but not great. The server and other staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was fine. My two complaints were that the food arrival was a bit ragged and my french toast, while very tasty, was not plated very well and was served with a miserly portion of syrup. (Our server cheerfully brought more, but the kitchen should have sent out an adequate amount in the first place). Also, my seat, which faced the window, was rather glarey such that the people across from me were backlit. The truth is though, finding good quality brunch spots that can deliver accurate and coordinated food is not an easy order.

We had a group of 6 for Sunday evening. Service was friendly but not very organized. They were out of some pork and beef options so we were met with a challenge for ordering. Drink service was a bit slow and we were starting to worry that this was a bad choice but when the food came we were very happy we came. Th food made up for everything. I will happily recommend this place to my friends.

My first negative review! We tried this place on Wed at 6 PM - not rush hour. We were hoping for a hidden gem but found nothing but Ho Hum. College dorm interiors - - it screams we don't care. The service was untrained. We ordered a nice bottle of Cab first. Our lukewarm nacho appetizer was delivered by someone else, well before our wine ( we don't care). Our entrees were nothing more than adequate (we don't care). When we requested a fresh fork between courses - we were given another rolled napkin - twice - I ended up with 3 napkins and 3 knives (we don't care). They need a manager/team that cares and can lead - they are not BAD - just mediocre at best. Open Table's review word limit keeps me from telling the rest of the story.

We have been customers and fans of the Tavern for a long time. Unfortunately we had our worse experience recently because of a poorly trained distracted waiter. He forgot completely our to go order which delayed our departure by 25 min after we had finished and he would disappear for extended periods which was very frustrating and odd. We told the manager on duty our disappointment and she seemed to be overwhelmed and lacked training on how to resolve our situation. A no brainer a portion of our meal should have been free for all our trouble. We will go back but not anytime soon.

Want great casual dining? Look no further than The Tavern. Its our go-to spot for great food and service. The fish or brisket tacos are outstanding and have a nice kick. One of their craft beers on tap will make a great pairing. Another great choice is the chicken enchilada (huge) which is as good as any local Tex Mex offering. The outdoor dining was perfect for our last visit, but the Hulen Street traffic noise can be a little distracting at times.
