Only criticism - can get very noisy when full (especially during happy hour). We had 2 soups, 2 entrees, 1 bottle of wine and 1 dessert for $176 with tip. Will I go again? Absolutely! When? It's just heaven on a plate coated in hot butter. It's THE standard of filet I weigh all others against and only Tom C's CRAFT in NY is equal to the one served here! All their food is flavorful and amazingly prepared. If I could eat there every week I would....and I'd get a filet every time! The servers are all so attentive and responsive. Many people come to Frederick to try VOLT, but if they're smart, they also visit THE TASTING ROOM as it's equally amazing! Offered a Filet which was done to perfection but the lag time for the guest was long, as everyone else ate. A small dessert was given to the Birthday girl and the service was great as usual. The private room which seats eight comfortably is perfect for conversation. We also appreciated being able to control the volume of the background music.

It is pricey, so it is a place we only go once in a great while...for a birthday or an anniversary, for example. Their filet mignon is out of this world...you will be spoiled after having it and will compare every other steak you ever eat to it! It is so tender it melts in your mouth. I also enjoyed the Amish chicken while I was there this past visit. It had a great truffle sauce with it and it was very different and tasty. Our waiter provided top-notch service, as is usual for this establishment. Had the country pate for appetizer, which arrived quickly with drink order and quite tasty. Rockfish special for main - perfectly prepared with delicate seasoning that complemented the squeaky fresh fish. My wife had the smoked pork chop, which also was wonderful and cooked to perfection. Desserts of creme brule and hazelnut chocolate cake both were delicious. Our server was attentive without being intrusive, and I particularly liked that they waited until both of us were done with our courses before clearing plates. We aren't wine affectionados, so we appreciated the single malts and Flying Dog ales. Lots of glass reflects noise, but still could converse easily.
