We ate outside with a view of the Lake. Our server, Jenni is amazing, very nice, knowledgeable helpful on all levels. The food was great and our time amazing. Our only issue is that the wines are a bit pricey for a Friday night dinner out or date night. But other than that the whole was great.

We love checking out good foodies every now and then. My fiance and I usually go to houston/downtown/heights area but we live in Kingwood. It is also Houston Restaurant Week so we decided to see if there were any local to us. Search results came up with TTR and glad we made that choice! Definitely a great staff which all were knowledgeable with the menu and did not disappoint. I will more than likely come back and recommend to anyone that lives out in the kingwood or surrounding areas.

The Tasting Room has always been a favorite of mine (especially their awesome mini-grilled cheeses and a bottle of Last Judgement). I had been away for about 2 months and then the unthinkable happened.....It is even better! New manager, new head chef, and an unusually upbeat staff were just a few of the changes. If you have been before and did not have a wonderful experience, I challenge you to a re-vote! Go back and experience TTR the way you always wanted it to be. Great stuff guys and keep it up!

Had the brunch outside early. The waiter and staff were exceptionally attentive which was appreciated as we have small children. The food (appetizer and main dish) were very good. Will definitely return.

Probably would have enjoyed our dinner a lot more if we didn't have to endure smokers at the next table. We wanted to sit outside but were shocked that this establishment allows smoking. The food was good, not great, but we paid top dollar for pizza. A lot of choices of wine but expensive by the glass. Too bad they can't have some moderately priced by the glass wine or a house wine. Won't be back and won't recommend.

We have been to the tasting room a few times and always enjoyed it. This particular trip was our anniversary so we wanted to go and have a nice dinner and a nice time. I made a reservation but the room was so empty when we got there we sat ourselves. The wine we selected was excellent. The Appetizer was delicious. Our waiter was very nice and shared her wine taste and recommendations. The only negative points I have are my dinner was not warm enough and the restaurant was freezing. My husband ordered a pizza which I'm sure took longer than my chicken and they wanted to serve us at the same time. I always enjoy coming here and cannot wait to grab a group friends to do some wine and cheese tasting. Also the view is gorgeous.

  • Mother's Day miss

Every other experience I've had at TTR has been excellent which is why I was really disappointed in the Mother's Day brunch. It started with being out of the bottle of champagne we wanted after only an hour of being open to waiting for plates, long lines for the omelet and French toast bar, limited choices of food, and a buffet menu that didn't seem to work together is why I consider it a miss. Frankly, I was more satisfied last year when we could order off the menu.

We made reservations for Mother's Day breakfast, but were not made aware that the only option for food that morning was a $29 per person brunch. We had never known them to offer brunch, so were surprised, thinking we would be ordering breakfast from the menu. We had plans for a large meal later in the day and had not intended to eat big. We ordered a glass of champagne and left without eating. The restaurant should have noted on its site that there was only one option for Mother's Day. We were pretty disappointed.

  • Mothers Day Buffet

Before I say anything let me first say how much I LOVE brunch at The Tasting Room. With that being said, I was a bit disappointed in having to eat from the buffet on Mothers Day. My mother is from out of town and I was excited about introducing her to some of the "usual" menu items I enjoy. I was surprised upon arrival to find out the buffet was the only option thus taking away from the typical fabulous experience. Selection was limited. I greatly missed the chicken and biscuits, potatoes, and Egg BLT in particular. In summary, I feel as though the buffet should not have been required for those who made reservations ahead of time. In my opinion, the price was also steep at $30 considering the options.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2012

We had a terrible experience that evening and wound up leaving & going somewhere else. First, we were shown to an outside area where there was no one else seated. We were told that someone would be out shortly to light the heaters. That person never came, nor did any server come out to offer to bring us water, a menu, or a wine list. After waiting 15 minutes for anyone to come out to serve us my husband went in to see if we could be re-seated somewhere else and to mention the poor service. He had a very unsatisfactory conversation with the woman who seemed to be charge that evening. We waited at our outside table for 10 more minutes to see if anything would happen, and after that we left and went down the street to another restaurant.

I'm VERY surprised that my previous 2-star review is nowhere to be found in the reviews. Here it is again. Hard to believe that poor service can travel so precisely from one Tasting Room to another. Seems that you need to be a former employee to get attention from a server. Same lame menu too....overpriced dishes appear appealing, but don't deliver.
