  • "My friend and I were celebrating our 50th birthday! Several members of the staff acknowledged it and we were offered complimentary champagne as well. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable. We enjoyed our HRW menu except for the dessert. Overall it was a great experience!"

  • "The service there was phenomenal. I never had a empty glass. It was continuously full. The good was awesome. The music was a little loud which made conversations difficult. Overall....it was a great experience."

  • "It was very warm in the restaurant, but the food was excellent. The courses initially came out way too fast. In fact, we had so many plates on the table at one point they didn't all fit, but we asked them to slow down and they did. The place wasn't packed so I wasn't sure why they were rushing us."
    Dined on 8/17/2014
  • "The restaurant published their brunch as part of restaurant week and did not mention anywhere that this was only available on Sundays. They even accepted my reservation with "restaurant week menu" noted in the comments and did not inform us until we arrived that the restaurant week menu would not be an option."

  • "My wife and I are new to Houston and we were looking for a nice place for "Date Night". We very much enjoyed The Tasting Room and my wife said it at lest three times that night, "I really like it here, we will have to come back. We will go back and you should try it you will not be sorry."

  • "Usually go here for girls brunch or relaxed get together but this time, I went with my husband hoping for a great dining experience. First the A/C was supposedly out in the back of the restaurant so everyone was forced to sit on top of each other in the front. Our waiter who said he's only been there a couple of weeks basically had a negative comment to say about what WE wanted to order. Told my husband not to get the sausage and pepper cast iron and for me not to order the artichokes. I've never been so scared to order something in my life!! Awful experience... Will not be back!"

  • "We went for a late breakfast/brunch on Sunday morning. Food was awesome, wine recommendations were perfect, and setting relaxing. Will do this again."

  • "Took advantage of HRW for brunch (group of 3 friends). Cre me brûlée French toast was great as was the short rib hash. My two friends had the shrimp and grits and loved it. Great mimosas. Our server was on point and made sure we enjoyed. Good times! Going back with another group."

  • "I attended the restaurant in a group of 7 to enjoy the Houston food month menu - the food was great as well as the wine. However, the average time between courses was 45 MINUTES!!!! We were starving for the better part of our 3 hour visit, completely unnecessary and left a sour taste in my mouth which is unfortunate as our table spent upwards of $400 on our visit."
    Dined on 8/2/2014
  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner! We took advantage of the Houston Restaurant Weeks menu and we were not disappointed. The spicy meatball starter, house salad, and grilled shrimp were just delicious. We finished with the olive oil cake and cheesecake. Of course, we enjoyed some lovely wine as well. The Tasting Room has a new menu overall , and we're eager to return to try a few more items. Esther's friendly service made dining on the patio such a pleasure!"

  • "We were visiting Houston and decided to try The Tasting Room. It was a pleasant surprise! Houston is full of expensive restaurants, so it was nice to find a moderately priced restaurant with really good food and a strong wine list. The waiters can guide you through both based upon your tastes."

  • "I didn't initially choose this place as I was expecting a small and somewhat boring atmosphere similar to the uptown location. Boy was I wrong! This location is huge! Great energy, great food, great staff. I'll be back!"
    Dined on 7/25/2014
  • "The hot and cold appetizers were all excellent. The choices are great, not too big, fresh and creative. We can always find a great wine which pairs well with the food. We will walkways come back here."
    Dined on 7/24/2014
  • "Our server was great and extremely helpful in informing us of which wines to order after listening to what we were looking for. The food was amazing!! The wine was even better!! Definitely will be returning soon"

  • "This restaurant was very nice. The service, the drinks, and the food were all great. Fit for a date or meeting friends."

  • "This wine bar is a great place to take a date. Good food and wine list is very nice. Can't say enough good things about the service. We had a server named Ester and she was awesome. For the first time in a long time I felt taken care of in a resturant/wine bar."

  • "The food and service were great. The chicken tacos and white bean soup were delicious. Our waiter was very pleasant. Sadly, there was a drunk, obscene young lady at a large table near to ours. She was cursing, yelling, etc. I think management should have said something since many dinners asked to be moved if there food had not been ordered or delivered. Unfortunately, we were eating when she arrived."

  • "I really enjoyed dining at The Tasting Room, but we were seated at the first table and although the music was good, it was way too loud. It was hard to have a conversation with my friends. I would definitely go back, but I would select a different table. The wine was outstanding plus it does not hurt that I have a friend who is a member with a Wine Locker. A great time was had by all!"

  • "There is no place to dine here! The smokers at the outside tables ruin your dinner in a flash. Indoors, there is loud music not worth hearing. Sans music, the interior space is unimaginative, cold and the acoustics are awful - you cannot hear yourself think, let alone hear the person next to you. The food is wonderful. The cheeses are amazing and well-chosen. The wine list exhibits depth and variety. I tasted some wines that I've never had before, nor could I find them anywhere else. Impressive wine and food. Impeccable service. The atmosphere, however, ruins the whole experience. At their exorbitant prices, you expect linen on the tables at the very least. Too loud. Too smoky. Too mediocre a dining theatre. Too bad."

  • "The live music coming from the patio added to an already vibrant atmosphere. What a wonderful evening of food, wine and friendship."
    Dined on 5/25/2014
  • "Have tried most of the food and it is always very good. Make sure you ask about their specialties of the evening (day) and any "special" regular items not listed on the menu. Wait staff is always friendly. They tend to remember you and you feel like you are at a higher scale local neighborhood hang-out. I do not drink, but my husband enjoys red wines. They seem to have an excellent selection and are very knowledgeable. The lighting is not good in some areas, so that is about the only negative. Overall, good food (not regular restaurant style), more like high quality appetizers and shared dishes as main course. Great location because you get the energy of the area from being in City Centre (Memorial area)."

  • "Brunch was delicious! Our server, Esther was knowledgeable, attentive, and sweet as could be! "

  • "We went for brunch on Mother's Day, and everything was absolutely fabulous. Our waitress was very friendly and took great care of us, and the food was phenomenal. We had the lobster Benedict, French toast, and the shrimp and grits. Everyone left satisfied and happy."

  • "Went for Mother's Day Brunch and it was fantastic. My mother got the lobster eggs benedict and absolutley could not get enough of it. Everyone was very pleased with their selections and it was ridiculously fast. When we ordered it barely felt like 5 minutes before our warm food was served. I have been here before and I will be coming back. "

  • "We met friends for wine & appetizers one evening. Two bottles of wine, 3 appetizers, 2 desserts, 2 coffees came to almost $200! Seems a bit steep for what we had. Very noisy. Great service."
    Dined on 4/28/2014
  • "The Creme Burlee French Toast was excellent. They need to offer eggs and meat options with breakfast. Other than that, it was great place for friends and family to hangout on a Sunday afternoon. Man, those Creme Burlee French Toast was superb."

  • "Thought it would be nice to go here for Easter brunch. They had decent mimosas but the food was lacking. It was over priced for what they served. They weren't too busy on Easter but the food still took 30+ minutes. This is a great place for an overpriced glass of wine but I don't think I'll ever do the brunch again. "
    Dined on 4/20/2014
  • "The noise level is so loud that we can not speak. Even after moving to a back table we could hardly hear each other with the (not good) live music blasting to the place. Do not go there if you want to talk to other people. It is a shame as the food is good and they have a good wine list and are in a good spot. Will not go back soon."
    Dined on 4/16/2014
  • "Wife and I had a really nice date here. Food was tasty, wine list was exceptional and the service better. I'd recommend it in a heartbeat."
    Dined on 4/13/2014
  • "This has become one of my favorite places to meet with friends. The food is great and I love the wine selections. Made my birthday memorable!"
    Dined on 4/12/2014
  • "The menu was misleading my date ordered the "grilled" cauliflower putinesca witch was clearly steamed/microwaved there was not on grill mark nor browning spot on it I ordered the pork chop which was clearly microwaved due to the excessive clear liquid in top of the chop plus the coagulated protein on the top and bottom"
    Dined on 4/8/2014
  • "We arrived on time and were seated promptly (they didn't mark us against our OT reservation). Service was good, but nothing memorable (nothing special even though I noted in the reservation that we were celebrating our wedding anniversary). Nice selection of cheeses and charcuterie. Mini grilled cheeses are a must have! Good selection of wines by the glass with most prices in the $10-20 range. The weather was great so we sat outside. Great for people-watching. The outdoor tables are a bit small. We had 3 people and were constantly rearranging things to fit glasses, menus and plates. Overall it's a solid, safe bet for a pleasant evening out. We'll definitely visit here again, but it's not the place I'll bring every visitor through."

  • "We love coming to The Tasting Room for our girls night out after a long work week. I always ask for Charlie because he gives fantastic wine selections and is very knowledgable and just an all around great server. The band on the patio is a nice touch also. We will be back very soon!"

  • "Ashley did an outstanding service at our table! we appreciate her courtesy!"

  • "Went to celebrate birthday for my wife with group of friends. Staff was very attentive , reservation was ready as promised. We were at back of restaurant which was somewhat quieter so we could talk. Food was very good (somewhat unique). Will definitely go back again."

  • "We took a client to this restaurant recently, had reservations two days in advance and were seated on arrival - so far so good. At the last minute, the manager decided to sell out the entire restaurant area for a last minute party. We were moved from our quiet table into the bar. He did comp us a bottle of wine but it was not the experience that I had hoped for when I booked the reservations. We will not be back"
