A word from The Table
About The Table:

The Table is an urban neighborhood restaurant focused on seasonal ingredients, hand-crafted cocktails and progressive wines. We are called The Table because we recognize a table’s unique ability to bring together delicious food, fun drinks and good people. Many of life’s best memories have been created around a table.

Our cuisine is contemporary American, paying tribute to the people and cultures that call this valley home. We believe that the quality of our product begins at the source—with the farmers, ranchers, and dairymen that produce them. By establishing relationships with local farms and ranches, our goal is to understand the origins of everything we cook and seek out only those ingredients produced with integrity and care. We commit to delivering delicious food that highlights the quality of the ingredients we source, free of over-manipulation.

We have never had a bad meal here. The menu changes periodically which keeps it interesting. Hand crafted cocktails are always winners. We had the chili and the chicken as appetizers. Then had beef cheeks, pork belly and hamburgers. Everything was perfect!

The Table never disappoints us! We went for date night and had the tropical melon salad with our champagne - a perfect match. Soup and dinner were excellent but the star was the chocolate creme dessert. So rich and decadent. My only feedback is I wish there were a few more vegetarian or vegan choices on the menu.

Two parties with young kids (including a toddler) while we were there. People...LEAVE YOUR KIDS AT HOME or go to Chuck E. Cheese. Screaming kids are not welcomed by other diners. Food was awesome. We always share our dishes, and we like to try things we've not had before. For this visit, we had the mushroom soup (oh YUM!), little gems salad (wonderful counterpoint between the fig dressing and the tart cheese), alfredo mushroom pasta (divine!), salmon and goat cheesecake. Service was subpar, with dishes stacking up on our table, extremely long wait for bread (20 min.), coffee served 10 min. after our dessert arrived and a gross-out moment when the server put his thumb in the area of the coffee cup where I was drinking from.

I had made reservations a few days beforehand, yet when I showed up we were seated at the Communal Table, not at our own table. I questioned the hostess, and she said there was nothing she could do about it because that was their system. At the time I relented, but I quickly regretted doing so because a party was then seated right next to us. Very close, rubbing elbows close (literally). Basically, we were treated like other walk-ins. It was extremely unpleasant. I explained the situation to the manager, and he told me that when I make reservations I was supposed to ask for non-Communal Table. How was I supposed to know that? What was the point of making a reservation then? It left a very bad taste in my mouth.

Thanks, OpenTable! Our table was ready when we arrived even though there was a short line. Service was excellent, starting with great advice on cocktails. The three of us have somewhat different taste, and we all loved what we got. Also great recommendations on food. We got three of the "share" plates (crispy chickpea, bone marrow, rabbit crepinette) and two entree plates (chantrelle mushrooms and pork belly). We love to graze through dinner like this. Pork belly is always questionable as a main course: a small chunk is really all you (should) want. Splitting it three (or four) ways is about right. The marrow was the only simple preparation we had, the other dishes were compositions. The corn porridge and shelling beans were memorable.

To begin, we requested a quiet, more private table as it was a special occasion. Not only did we get a great table, the restaurant was very gracious in accommodating our later-than-expected arrival. Our server was courteous, friendly, fun, and knowledgable about the food and wine. The food was nothing short of amazing. We especially loved the chick-pea fritters for an appetizer, the gem salad, and the salmon entree. Dessert was delicious… just the right level of sweetness and well-balanced by the really good coffee. We will definitely be back!

I've never had a bad dish or negative experience at The Table. I just love this place. Consistent, amazing food, fantastic service and the place is warm, energetic and friendly. Patty is so personable and goes out of her way to make you feel welcome. The bar tenders are awesome! For us, this dining experience is a "treat" - since the bill can get a little pricey. I haven't been to a place like this since I left Los Angeles! I haven't been able to find good food like this anywhere. I love the menu, the atmosphere, I especially love the fact that the chef uses farmers market ingredients - not just any corn but Brentwood corn. There are some off menu items that are fantastic, but they only make so many so you have to get there early. They may run out of things once in a while, but I expect that with food that fresh and that tasty. Besides, I haven't had anything on the menu yet that I didn't really like.

My date actually recommended your restaurant. From the very start,I liked the personal service. The food was good, that's a SOLID good.A bit too noisy,it was our second date, and I don't like to raise my voice to have a conversation even though I had called ahead and were indeed seated at a single table. Our wines were good as well.I'm glad you are expanding. Some private tables,a group table area will benefit you well.It was the service that will bring me back. Our server, Esmeralda was great! I may bring an old friend in tonight for a late dinner. He's spent most of his life in the restaurant business and really appreciates good food as well as service.

The Table has the vibe of a hipster-foodie venue ... very welcome in downtown Willow Glen, but the limited dinner menu was heavy on the pork and beef and when the plates arrived they looked "well", not beautiful, delectable, interesting nor generous in appearance. The pork chops were over-cooked, so tough, and my beef cheeks were oozing with fat. What a disappointment. I'll give it one more try yet it was my friend's 2nd time here and he was unimpressed, again.

I think I found my favorite place to dine in willow glen tonight. Service was great- welcoming smiles and continuous good service throughout the night. The braised rabbit was a great starter recommended by our waiter. The braised angus beef was so tender, it melted in my mouth. The pork belly, on the other hand was very salty but I loved the sides of fresh shelling beans and sonoma brinery sauerkraut. I can't wait to come back for brunch!

You all know how wrong "creative" menus can go. But Table has one of the most interesting brunch, dinner and cocktail menus around. The food and drink would easily stand up in SF or NYC. The space is a little cramped but the expansion that's under construction will fix that. And the servers really know their way around the dishes. They'll steer you right.

My husband and I went here for our 38 anniversary. He likes high end quiet restaurants especially for our anniversary. I felt like something a little more fun and a new place. It is like something you would find in Napa - very casual, hip and the food was excellent except for the Pot de Creme, mine is better but it was very rich and chocolatey. I checked notable wine list - but what they really have that is good is their hard liquor drinks. The bartender really knows how to make a drink. I had a side car which is an old fashion drink that a lot of bartenders don't know how to make - he made it perfect! Great food, great price point.

We were celebrating our 32 years of marriage and had to choose our favorite local "table" - The Table. We are into food and wine and this place never disappoints. We enjoyed the Braised Rabbit Crepinette for our starter. The main course of Braised Angus Beef Cheeks melted in my mouth and I could hardly get my wife to share a taste of her Pork Belly Confit with its crunch. We enjoyed our dinner at The Table very much, despite the noise level. Seating is tight (we were rooting for the awkward first date sitting next to us, they seemed to loosen up after a round of cocktails). The food was good, but the service and the drinks really shone. Amy, our server, was attentive and patiently answered our many questions about the drink list. Our only other concern was the AC blowing directly on us from ceiling vents on both sides of the room, creating a wind tunnel effect. Amy and the host were concerned when they couldn't get the fans to turn off immediately, but after a while the breeze seemed to lessen. Take a taxi so you can try several of the drinks, bring a sweater, and don't miss the chocolate pot de creme.

Removed our wine glasses before the wine was gone. Very slow service overall. Had to wait 20 minutes for our reservation. Food is good but the front of the house is clumsy and mostly indifferent and abrupt. I want to like this place as it is in our neighborhood but after four attempts, The Table does not make the cut. Wine list is sparse tho' somewhat improved over prior visits. If they could only polish the service with a warm sense of the customer to overcome the anonymous feel it would help.

Previous reviews had noted that the noise level could be a little intimidating, but we found this not to be so. We were seated at one of the tables for two in the middle of the room and there is sufficient room between the tables that carrying on a normal conversation was not a problem. The menu is eclectic but limited, but everything we had was prepared well. Our server was excellent, atttentive but not intrusive. The restaurant is expanding and will soon have outdoor dining as well. Very pleasant time!
