We were celebrating our 31st anniversary so chose Sycamore Inn as it is one of the most appropriate for celebrating momentous occasions restaurants in the area. Food was delicious, service impeccable. We left feeling comfortably full and happy with our choice, not to mention having leftovers for the next day so I didn't have to cook.

I had not been to the Sycamore Inn since the late 1990's. I was looking forward to a great meal in a historic elegant restaurant. I was surprised at the faded decor in the bar area, and the noise level in the bar area. The dining room was very subdued in color. Even the flower arrangements along the wall could not cheer up the room. the food was very good, but very expensive. Everything was a la carte. I would only recommend this restaurant if you are celebrating a very special occasion and you don't mind spending the money for everything except the rolls. In the 1990's the restaurant was not as expensive, and the food was in my memory very good.

Able to arrange a group dinner with two other couples. Great evening out, superb place for such a dinner. The waiter seemed to forget about us at the outset, but we were busy "catching-up" so it wasn't a problem, this is until a couple of the women noticed his absence. When we did get attended to, he made up for this oversight with superb service. Each of the entres and side dishes were delicious, and one of the couples, who had never been to the Sycamore Inn, were very grateful for the experience and happy to have spent the evening out there.

This restaurant is very dated! It looks like a cheesy Old Town Vegas style restaurant. The service is extremely poor. The waiters act as if they have somewhere better to be. There is no interaction, no recommendations, no welcome to the restaurant or anything! Everything is a la cart so the main entree's do not come with any sides. It is very expensive, which is not a problem if the the service and ambiance matches! If you order wine be prepared to have a backup because if they have run out the waiter will tell you it's out, drop off the menu and walk away without recommending anything else. I would never dine here again. An absolute waste of time and money!

The noise level is usually lower than other restaurants which makes for good conversation at dinner. We will be back soon, had a wonderful time.

Boy would Robert Irvine love to get his hands on this place is what my wife said as we entered the restaurant. The interrior is from the 70's maybe early 80's. The big neon sign in front with the arrow pointing to the restaurant seemed like it belonged in Las Vegas. The area is so rich with history it's a shame it is not updated to reflect that theme. Although everything is clean, the place screams "Make Me Over!". The food is very good and the service is excellent. I had the 20 oz prime rib, and my wife had the filet mignon. The prices are in line for a chop house. Our waiter Gus was great and attended to our every need. There are plenty of selections to choose from, but it would be great to have an exclusive dish from the chef.

So, whenever I want to thank or congratulate someone, I take them to The Sycamore Inn. Recently we moved and one of our friends helped in loading and unloading our truck. The same guys wife just got a benefits position at her job so we went out to celebrate/thank both of them. The food is always wonderful. I had the petite filet, my girlfriend had the bass, and both guys had the New York Strip. We all had either wine or mixed drinks and the atmosphere, as usual was vibrant. The place was packed, it was a Saturday so I made sure to make a reservation but normally I just show up and wait if I have to (never had to). I have sat next to the fireplace, in the middle and outside...there is no bad seat. LOVE YOU GUYS!!

Though I appreciate that the servers are professional and experienced, I prefer servers who are at least engaging. Not over the top, just not so stuffy. This is a special occasion restaurant and in my opinion, there should be reasonable dress code for the dining room. Their website menu needs updating since we were surprised that the prices were $4-5 were higher than advertised. Side dishes are not presented as they once were. I was disappointed with my dining experience and how much the restaurant it has changed.

We had a somewhat later reservation of 8:15 on a Friday evening to celebrate my daughter's 40th birthday. We were greeted and seated promptly. Our server was delightful and allowed us to take our time ordering drinks, appetizers and our entree's. Food came out delicious and we enjoyed the evening all the way to closing time. It did feel a bit strange to be the only one's in the restaurant at 10:30PM. I think if some sort of entertainment in the lounge was offered, people may have a tendency to stay longer. We did notice that the parking lot of "The Magic Lamp" across the street was full when we left. Dinner for 5 with cocktails, appetizers and entree was $400.00, so Sycamore is a bit more pricey than The Magic Lamp.

We generally choose to go to this restaurant when we want an upscale experience. The food is excellent as is the ambiance and the service. Our service is never rushed. On this evening we were a party of six, family members. We enjoyed appetizers, cocktails, wine, and a meal with rolls and sides. Delicious!

We LOVE the Sycamore Inn (Rancho Cucamonga) - we go for the Prime Time dinner since we're on a budget. I think their appetizer Cajun Shrimp should be a main dish! Add some wild rice and vegetables and voila! I love the fact that they have "old school" drinks like Manhattans...but the Smokin' Margaritas are my fave. :)

This resturant was established back in the 1800, so needless to say it needs a update. The carpeting has the entire restaurant smelling like the 1800s. Other than that, the food was excellent. I ordered the 10 oz. filet mignon cooked medium. It was cooked perfect with a pink middle and nicely charred on the outside. The stemmed spinach and au gratin potatoes are just that. Nothing special about them. Also ordered a top shelf extra dirty martini on the rocks. Excellent cocktail with no complaints. Kind of weird that the host podium is located back by the bar instead of as soon you enter the establishment. Overall if your going for food, excellent. If your going for wine, excellent with over 500+ selections.

We've been to this restaurant numerous times over the last 10 years. Things have changed over the years, and this last time was the most noticeable decline. While the prices are somewhat extraordinary (and this is fine with us if it's warranted), the food and service are no longer (but it certainly used to be). To pay nearly $50 for a steak that is just OK is not acceptable. The "Family Style" side dishes seem to have become smaller. We had reservations for a family birthday dinner, but our server had no clue about the birthday. The service overall was minimal, slow and unenthusiastic. We really got the sense that they didn't care if we ate there or not. My family and I left disappointed.

Sycamore Inn is just off Route 66 (Foothill Blvd) surrounded by huge Sycamore trees. I decided to take my family out to celebrate my wife's birthday and everything was absolutely perfect! We ordered a mix of appetizers, the calamari was especially good. Entrees and sides were all served perfectly. It's rare when the youngest in our family (19) and the oldest (89) express complete satisfaction at the same meal. Sycamore Inn pulled it off, definitely going to be our neighborhood steakhouse moving forward.
