Diner Reviews
  • "This is one of the best places in the Southland for a good steak. They are so tender you can cut it with a fork. The side dishes are really good, the Creamed spinach and blue cheese/bacon mashed potatoes are a meal by themselves. Bread is hot out of the oven. Specials are outstanding."

  • "Excellent dining experience! I had prime rib, hubby had rib chop (bone in rib eye) and friends had sea bass... Prime rib was tender & flavorful. Rib eye was perfectly prepared, charred on the outside and moist inside. The sea bass was amazing! Flakey, tender with an amazing flavor. For appetizers I recommend the stuffed mushrooms. The bleucheese stuffing was to die for. And the chocate soufflé was out of this world!! (Just order early, takes 30-45 min to prepare.) The only negative was that we split the check but the recommended tip printed on the receipt wasn't for the spit amount, it was on the full amount and we didn't realize that until we had already paid and left. Overall I give this restaurant 5 stars and will definitely be back."

  • "Went to the Inn for a great steak and we weren't disappointed. Love the service, Bob knows how to take care of us, and love the food. It is nice to go for dinner and we can carry on a conversation without shouting, it is busy but not distracting. Not many places can make us so comfortable while dining on great food."

  • "We had dinner at The Sycamore Inn for our anniversary and it was wonderful. We were seated right away and our waiter was very friendly and attentive. The prime rib was amazing as always. We really like supporting local restaurants because they have a commitment to the community. They live here, shop here and serve here which is really important to the local economy. Thank you to the owners of the Sycamore Inn for bringing back the dining experience that we deserve in the Inland Empire!"

  • "Great restaurant for a lingering, low-light meal. The high back chairs are comfy and the waiters don't rush you to order or eat, or take away your dishes to encourage you to 'finish up'. The rib-eye steak was delicious and I appreciated the waiter letting us know that the sides were large enough to share. The wine list is very nice. I chose the Rosenblum Zin to start and because it was very mellow asked if I could then try the Carol (?)... - a locally grown Zin variety. The waiter must have thought I didn't like the first one because he brought the second and said he wouldn't charge for the first one. Over all - very nice. Will go again when the occasion arises."

  • "The name of the establishment tells you exactly what to expect: A classic western-style inn steak house. They met all expectations! Wait staff were very professional, attentive and detailed, yet unobtrusive. The food was excellent with nothing but positive comments from our group. Definitely recommended."

  • "We came here for a friends birthday, 1st time being here. Our waiter Ed was sooo nice and funny. he said this place was WAY better than Flemings (that's normally where we go) and he was right I was so impressed with my steak choice he recommended. Everyone on our party all go a different steak and we all had to try each others and every one of them tasted amazing and was cooked to perfection. Highly recommend Sycamore Inn Prime Steak House and we will be back!"

  • "Took dad out for Father's Day. He and mom hadn't been to the Sycamore Inn in 40 years. They thoroughly enjoyed their experience. The food was wonderful, however, felt $30 for a bottle of White Zin by Beringer was over the top. Can purchase this bottle in the grocery store for under $10."

  • "Amazing as usual! My wife and I have celebrated major milestones I'm our life at sycamore inn for the last 5 years and will continue to do so for the rest of our lives. Thank you sycamore inn...we are never disappointed."

  • "The food was pretty good (several dishes were very good), the noise level a bit higher than I had expected, service was a bit slow, but the real problem was the cost. Drinks were very expensive, and the food much higher that other places. We had a nice time - except to the final bill."

  • "Our waiter Steve was so personable he made us feel like family. I met my date there who was 15 minutes late and i received a cold welcome for the first 20 minutes. Thank God it didn't reflect on my date. After she arrived, everything was perfect. But I personally received a cold shoulder a pond my arrival. "

  • "Ok - was just ok this year. Have been every year for the last 4 and it was a real struggle to get the champagne glasses refilled- always asking asking asking - if we ask twice how about your keep the glasses fllled? Fair enough? They are very small anyway - its not like you are going to 'waste' more than 2 oz anyway. If just felt like they were trying to cut expenses this year. The prime rib was too fatty, the potatoes never came out, just lots of little things you never used to experience at Sycamore. Got to meet Chuck the GM and his wife - nice folks - you would have thought sitting right next to them service would have been better . . . "

  • "There are many better values out there. The food and service were good but not impressive for the price. Wines were far over priced as though that makes the place "a cut above", but no it bores me to overpay for a mediocre house wine."

  • " The menu had several choices for both of us, we were very pleased with the cocktail and wine list. The salmon and filet mignon were both excellent, the side orders were all very good and presented well. The desert menu was good and our selections were also excellent. My wife commented that even the after dinner coffee was exceptionally good. "

  • "This is a go-to place for just a good, classic steakhouse experience. The waitstaff is always friendly and professional, and the food is always good. The wine list, as well as the wine opinions from the waitstaff have never steered us wrong. Definitely a favorite place for my wife and myself. "

  • "We have been past this restaurant 100 time (at least) and finally made reservations and gave it a try. The service was perfect, drinks were great and food was excellent (one of the best steaks I have had on the west coast). My wife asked for a change in the meal she ordered (asked for no garlic) and was accommodated without question. Ambiance is old school steak house which was appreciated, comfortable seating, lots of wood paneling and pleasant music which was not too loud. Can't say enough about the food-it was outstanding and Steve, our waiter, was impeccable."

  • "Once again, the Sycamore Inn proved to be a classic dinner house with consistent service, food and atmosphere. The food was delicious, and well prepared. I've not been disappointed here, and have chosen this restaurant for some very memorable ocassions."

  • "Have not been here in a while and it did not disappoint me as it is everything I remember. The food was excellent as I had the Filet Mignon with asparagus and au gratin potatoes. My wife had the special of the evening which was Salmon and Shrimp with sautéed brussel sprouts which she enjoyed very much. With the appetizers we had along with the excellent deserts the evening was fantastic which was also due to the attentive service we enjoyed. Be prepared to spend some money but, it is well worth the time to come this long time neighborhood establishment."

  • "Made a reservation because we needed to have a great steak, and nothing compares to the steaks at Sycamore Inn. The service was as outstanding as always, Bob never lets us down. A great Zinfandel topped off the evening wonderfully. Looking forward to our next visit."

  • "The Sycamore Inn... My girlfriend and I split the salmon special and a filet mignon. They were both wonderful. Our server was there when we needed him but we never felt rushed or pressured throughout the evening. A couple of great cocktails while we dined and a very nice chocolate soufflé rounded out the meal. We can't wait to return..."

  • "We like the Sycamore Inn for special occasions: birthdays, anniversaries, major events! We live 30 miles away, so with freeway traffic, we don't come as much as we would like, being senior citizens, but always for the special times. The scallop and shrimp dinner is superb. We enjoyed the Caesar salad with anchovies. Our sides of green beans and au gratin potatoes were perfectly cooked. Thank you for the complimentary bread pudding for our anniversary. Plus our water glasses were never less than half full. Wonderful service! Wonderful wine, too... Good wine list!"

  • "I must say this was a wonderful Easter brunch from the food ,Prime rib, 5 star and everything else, the service from the the start to the end friendly and always with a smile were were eager to serve excellent, stopped by a few days a ahead of time to check it out had the choclate souffle it was one of the best I have had will go back agaig and again."

  • "Both the service and food were top grade. We arrived for Easter Sunday Brunch about 25 minutes before our scheduled reservation and we seated immediately. Our server, Ed, took us to the brunch serving areas and explained the layout. Ed was very attentive throughout the time that we were there. The food was cooked and prepared very well with a number of choices. The prime rib was especially tasty and the portion was cut thick rather than thin slices like most buffet style carvers. This was our first time at Sycamore Inn Prime Steak House but it definitely won't be our last."

  • "Overpriced for the quality of meat, stingy with the bread, wont bring it out till you have soup or salad. ordered a filet mignon oscar style, the filet was poor quality, not even sure it was a filet, the crab cake was fishy and had alot of binder, should of sent it back, sauces were very good, and the clam chowder was also very good, husband complained about alot of fat on his peppercorn steak"

  • "We made reservations for our 22nd anniversary and were very pleased. We had a $50 gift card to use, but forgot it at home. We figured it was a nice place and would probably eat there again in future. Thank you very much."

  • "I was expecting a lot more for the price. I do not mind spending money for great food, but was disappointed in the portion size and flavor of food. As you entered the restaurant, there is an old bar that is loud with TV's. The bar does not match the restaurant decor and looks more like a street bar. Guests must pass by the TV and loud bar noise. As guests enter the restaurant, there is a musty odor of the old and dirty carpet in the dining area. The restaurant is playing Swingers music, that collides with the street bar noise with the doors wide open. As I reviewed the price and environment of the food do not match. I would not recommend this restaurant for a special occasion."

  • "We made a reservation for 7 and our table was waiting for us when we arrived. Our server was very attentive and made the evening that much more enjoyable. Chilean Sea Bass was outstanding, as was the Filet. Can't beat their minestrone soup. Entrees are a little pricey for this area, so you are going to spend about $50-$60 per person when you get done with drinks, appetizers and sides. All very much worthwhile. This was our second visit in the last four months. Great improvements have been made since a few years ago when our experiences weren't so great."
