Oh did I mention the delicious Dessert buffet. We have gone for dinner several times and really enjoyed it so that is why we tried the brunch. We raised our own cows and every fall would split a steer between my grandparents and our family so we always had fresh beef. My dad would grill steaks outside about twice a month and they had the most awesome flavor and tenderness. I have not had a steak like that since my dad made them until I went to The Summit. It brought back so many great memories!! The food was incomparable and I WILL be going back!!! I loved it!! Not stuffy or uptight, not just business class. It was a well laid out. The servers were all mature servers (50's or 60's). Our servers made our experience the reason why I would go back again! Food was spectacular. Best filet I have had in years. We were able to just sit enjoy our company and our server gave us the time we needed and was very attentive without being interrupting. There was a band and singer playing in the bar area that we could hear but faintly. The presence of the band did not take away from our ability to speak to one another. This place is truly a gem. Our server, Paul, was personable, efficient, and took good care of our party. The food was very good and prepared to order. One steak order was undercooked but the issue was corrected without incident.
I would recommend the Summit Steakhouse for a quality dinner in SE Denver/Aurora.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMMy new favoriteIt's been years since I was there and kick myself for it. It was fantastic. The feeling was an adult restaurant of yesteryear and in a good way. The lighting was great, the live music very nice, the decor top notch, and the food...A-one on all levels. Our server was professional, friendly (but not too), and timing perfect.
The French onion soup is the best ever. My steak was what you would, and should, expect and cooked right. The prime rib was wonderful. They had some very nice wine specials priced like you should order them, which we did.
The lounge had live entertainment which was nice to hear and was piped into the dining room but not loud so it was still a private meal.
You can't miss visting The Summit Steakhouse.3/2/2013 12:00:00 AMThis place isn't as "swish"This place isn't as "swish" as the other steakhouses in Denver. No "beautiful" people elbow deep at the bar looking for love like what you will find at Elway's or Shanahan's. The decor isn't high end either. It's clean and servicable....But what you will find are excellent steaks, honest folks, good service and reliable consistency without leaving you completely broke!
I suppose it depends on what you are looking for in a steakhouse...to see or be seen? Or a nice dinner without all the "showmanship." If what you want is dinner...you can't go wrong at Summit.1/30/2013 12:00:00 AM
