We recently ate there for Mother's Day when they had one of their "Special Occasion" brunches. The food was fantastic and the staff was on top of replenishing the food with fresh food. Tucked away on outer road of 291/470 in N. Lee's Summit/S. Independence in the Lakewood area. My sister & I both ordered the Center Cut Filet with substitutions on the sides. She ordered Medium-well & I ordered Medium as I often have bad luck when ordering medium-well, usually comes out too done, but not here! They were both PERFECT, mouthwatering tenderness!! My mom had the Shrimp Linguini & loved it, generous portion, so had some leftovers! We did not order appetizers but did split the delicious chocolate brownie topped with a scoop of ice cream. Food was excellent! The prices cannot be beat for Happy Hour. Ambience was perfect. Bar side great for a group, the dinning side is great for a quiet meal. When we arrived Friday afternoon, we were warmly greeted and promptly seated. unfortunately when our lunch order was taken my first wife found out that her desired order, the prime rib dip sandwich was not available! the server apologized and so did the manager later on. My wife settled for a less than memorable pork sandwich with string cut french fries, which were cooked to perfection.I had the grilled salmon entree with mixed vegetables; everything on my plate was delicious. the wine list was impressive and they had a decent selection of beers, bottled as well as draft and and a full fledge bar with separate seating.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, great prices!This is the third attempt by a restaurant to make a go of it in this spot. Well, third time's a charm. Summit Grill can compete with any Plaza or Johnson County restaurant on food quality and is supeior to most on price. I eat there probably once a week and hope it continues to thrive. The atmosphere starts at the top and the owner, Andy is first class all the way! We were in the dining area but the bar area was so loud it carried over into the dining area. I would of preferred a quieter dinner. The food and service were excellent. As an example, the mashed potatoes and gravy were both from scratch with excellent flavor and consistency. The appetizers were awesome and everyone was very pleased with their entree choices. The atmosphere in the bar area was very energetic and the ambiance and scenery in the dining area was amazing.
