Diner Reviews
  • "You will be pleasantly surprised. Menu changes, so you must go back regularly. Banana split is a must. Just try everything."

  • "Neat old quaint house for out of town visitors in Redmond. We ordered 2 appetizers to be shared, Pork Belly was excellent and Mussels. I ordered Beef cheeks with interesting seasoning but a bit too salty for me. Also ordered 2 desserts ie peach tart and a piece rhubarb pie (yummy and wonderful). Overall, good food (less salt, please) and great service. Ambience was nice except for the hot night."

  • "Thank you for a most memorable evening. Open Table made us feel at home and not rushed. It was a lovely evening on a hot night and the food was superb. Thanks for another lovely meal and a great evening with happy service."

  • "We were warmly greeted and offered to sit where we wanted. They recognized us as the folks who ordered a special meal, as we are vegetarians (I had called them when we made our reservation). They presented us with a fabulous vegetarian meal that had varied flavors and textures: gnocchi and fresh pea pods in an onion wine sauce, zucchini 'pasta' with a variety of vegetables on a red pepper coulis, and a mushroom linguini that had a variety of mushrooms in a cream sauce topped with fresh flowers. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal, although the room was a bit too noisy, due to a couple of large groups dining there. We'd go there again at any time!"

  • "Super pleased with the food. Our server started off excellent but she was alone and as the tables filled our service level dropped. I do not believe the restaurant expected the crowd so I am not grumpy about the slow service at the end. I'll go back."

  • "First time eating here, though I'd seen it many times. Menu didn't have a lot of choices, especially for a vegetarian, but all the food was excellent except for the peach tart (almost no peach). Service was middling; adequate but not what you'd expect for a restaurant like this. It really is a stone house, and you're eating in what feels like the former living room. Prices were high for what you get. If you like restaurants cozy and energetic, it's great. Ambiance is messed up by major construction project next door."

  • "Never heard of this place but did a reservation for my husbands 50th birthday. What a great place. Food was fast, hot and delicious. I recommended it to a friend the next day ."

  • "The inside lives up to the romantic promise of the outside and the personnel were sweet and thoughtful. The food was about 4.4 -- not quite outstanding, but it might be another evening. I especially enjoyed the Barbela, a wonderful wine with which I was unfamiliar. I will gladly return."

  • "Delicious food and great service, will be back to try more options from their menu. Little donuts are to die for!"
    Dined on 6/19/2014
  • "All of the food from the salads to the desserts were outstanding. The service was also outstanding. The level of the noise in the restaurant made having a conversation very difficult. If you are looking for a night of great food and conversation book at table after 9 pm when the restaurant traffic starts to ebb."

  • "The fish was cooked perfectly I will mention. The mussels were fishy, risotto was watered down, but it did have good flavor. Based on the reviews prior, I must have come on an off day."

  • "The ambience was great!!!! Service was outstanding and great staff! Food was excellent!!!! Presentations of food were excellent!!!! Would definitely take anyone there for an outstanding dining experience!!!!"

  • "Staff nice. Room very noisy. Little house in middle of growing town. Surrounded by apartments and condos. Looks like nice outdoor patio but too cool to test. Food was ok. Not as good as anticipated. Wine selection was good. Went for our anniversary and we're not as wowed as anticipated . Would not go out of our way to return but that's because there are so many other restUrants we would like to try."

  • "A very nice dinner was had by all! The Stone House is a pretty special place, the food is always spot on and the wine list is a little slice of heaven. I look forward to my next visit so that I can be dazzled once more by the creative food preparations"

  • "Personal service really made our Thursday dinner exceptional. Great local menu choices and fantastic dessert. We appreciated the help to find a hidden gem of a Chardonnay. "

  • "The pork chop was perfectly cooked & came with a savory apricot sauce. The asparagus appetizer was the right balance of tenderness & was topped with a baguette slice, olive oil, and over-easy egg that created a rich mix of flavors. The breading on the chili rellenos was a bit thick, but soaked up some of the fresh green salsa to win me over. The potato gnocchi was tender, accompanied by fresh artichoke & generously drizzled with basil-rich pesto sauce. All the dishes had a fresh taste and a delightful combination of flavors. The banana split was a winner, especially the banana which is dusted in cinnamon & sugar and cooked to caramelize the exterior and soften the fruit. We’ll be back for our next special occasion."

  • "The steak and salmon were very good. The steak was a little overcooked, but the quality made up for it. The restaurant is very small and loud, with guest's conversation. Not a good spot for a nice quiet dinner or intimate need."

  • "We ate early on a Saturday. The room was cozy but not crowded. Staff was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Food was excellent. "

  • "Second visit this month. Sea scallops and halibut were delicious and the presentation was great. The service was excellent as well, we didn't feel rushed. "

  • "The food at Stone House is always relish! The mussel (appetizer) are amazing. My husband always orders the chili rubbed tenderloin and I always order fresh fish. Stone House cares about the ingredients (fresh, local, etc.) they use and it shows!"
    Dined on 5/16/2014
  • "Every dish was beautifully prepared and delicious. Scallops were amazing, but the chili rub tenderloin was the best steak I've ever had. Great find!"

  • "Nice cocktail, desserts and seafood options. Good service and great ambience."

  • "Food was outstanding - lamb was cooked perfectly, and pork belly sandwich for lunch was excellent. Turn-around time from ordering to food being served was a little too long, but quality of food was worth the wait. Very little atmosphere. "

  • "All our orders (4 of us) were absolutely delicious and elegant presentation. Will definetly be a return customer! "
    Dined on 4/30/2014
  • "The Scallops were good and plating was beautiful. The sauces were too light for my taste this time and I'm pretty sure I would not get that again. The other 3 times I have been there it was excellent. Service was a bit disappointing as the gentleman looked frazzled and overwhelmed."

  • "We recently visited the beautiful city of Redmond for the Easter weekend. This is was my third visit to this city and my husbands second. Every time we visit- we try new restaurants and see new sights. Adding the Stone House to our favourite places to eat in Redmond was unanimous- its a total food experience. My husband thinks its actually the best Halibut meal he has every had and the experience was great."

  • "Actually I select this restaurant because of its good reviews, and I am really happy of that . As soon as I arrived I got surprised of its small area,it is like your dinning room but so cozy and well organized. The service was good but I have to confess the food was one of the best I have ever had. I selected scallop and shrimp and my husband chose the tenderloin steak and I think it was one of the best steaks we had experienced before…. in conclusion , I will recommend stone house to my friends ,and definitely will come back again.."

  • "If you are the type of diner that likes to go to a restaurant where it's so noisy you can barely hear the person sitting across from you, you may like this restaurant. Food was interesting and tasted good but not enough for me to want to forego a reasonable conversation with my dining companion. I would probably opt for a place which is more thoughtfully laid out relative to the acoustics of the facility."

  • "This is rated #1 in Redmond by TripAdvisor for good reason. It was wonderful. I had the asparagus starter and halibut entree. Both were delicious and the presentation was gorgeous."

  • "We received a gift certificate to The Stone House and used it for my husband's birthday! We had a wonderful, knowledgeable waitress and a spectacular meal! We had spicy mussels appetizers. Excellent. He had lamb with gnocchi & nettle pesto, cooked perfectly, presented beautifully, I had duck with fiddlehead ferns. Fabulous, spiced perfectly, and although gourmet, both were very healthy, locally sourced meals. Portions were nice, not too small, and the attention to high quality, healthy, local foods was highly appreciated. For dessert we splurged and I had the chocolate soufflé while he had the bread pudding. Both were perfect! Thanks for making a celebration a wonderful event. This was a perfect present for someone who is hard to buy for!"

  • "Had another beautiful dinner at stone house...started with marrow bone appetizer then the buck breast for dinner. The duck skin was perfection! Salty and crispy and the duck was perfectly cooked and oh so flavorful! For dessert....donuts with chocolate dipping sauce! Service was great, friendly and prompt. Atmosphere cozy."

  • "We started the meal with a duck ragu gnocchi that wasn't on the menu. I still dream about this today. Next, we ordered the flat iron steak and short ribs which were both superb. My husband said it is one of the best steak he has had. Since everything was amazing so far, we couldn't resist ordering dessert. We were glad we did. The chocolate souffle cake was fluffy had just the perfect amount of sweetness. It left us craving for more. To our surprise, that wasn't the end of it. Mini brownies were served together with the bill. I am usually not a fan of brownies but I stuffed myself with it because it was moist and delicious with just the amount of salt. We loved the food so much that we almost came back here the next day."

  • "Marrow bones are an acquired taste. Get the asparagus appetizer. Best scallops I have ever had. This is a fantastic intimate dining experience. The entrees all sound too good to be able to make a decision."

  • "Restaurant empty and cold when we arrived! Service excellent to start; enjoyed wine selection and menu. We requested a leisurely dining experience as we had plenty of time prior to our event at Marymoor Park, and this was affably agreed to. Totally enjoyed our appetizers. My husband hadn't even finished his appetizer when our meals arrived, unfortunately. Oddly, there was only one other table in the restaurant filled, so there was truly no cause for the rush. The dinners were excellent and well portioned. We would return again if we were in the area. This was a special event dinner for us, and worth the price."

  • "We went here before a show at Marymoor Park. Terrific spot, great ambiance, delicious food, excellent wine list. Good service. Recommend for a very nice meal or special occasion in Redmond."

  • "Recommended by a client and what a neighborhood gem! The food was outstanding, service was great! Only small complaint is the major construction going on around the area."

  • "While the service started off very slowly taking what felt like a long time waiting to place even a beverage order ended up with a great evening of wonderful service overall. The food as always was excellent and innovative. Had a great time!"

  • "This is the best restaurant in Redmond and rivals Bellevue restaurants also. I love this small space and the food is always delicious. My friend and I wanted to share scallops and steak and the server was so accommodating she brought it out already split for us. A bit pricey but we'll worth it. Can't wait to return"

  • "My wife and I are very particular about food and we were not disappointed at this quaint small neighborhood restaurant. Everything from the salad to the dessert were exquisite. The only thing I would have liked was some good homemade bread with the salad. Again, it was a superb meal."

  • "I took my friend there for lunch and we had a wonderful time. In part, because we were one of two groups there. Therefore, the waitress was very attentive. The food was good lunch fare. My friend had the pear and chicken Panini and I had the prosciutto and arugula sandwich. I'm not a fan of a lot of Dijon mustard and there was too much on my sandwich which overwhelmed the sandwich fillings. My friend thought hers was just fine. We also each had desserts: mine, the chocolate soufflé and my friend, the Italian doughnuts. Delicioso! My soufflé was quite rich and could easily be shared. We'd definitely go back. The road outside was being worked on so that might have put people off from venturing into this gem."
