  • "My wife and I are long-time fans of the Stockpot, and have been dining there for more than 25 years. Obviously if we've been going back time and time again for that long it's because we really like it. We'll being eating there again tomorrow night and probably visit them three times a month. I guess you could say it's our first choice when we want something more than a quick bite out. It's got a varied menu with reasonable prices and the wait-staff are terrific."

My girlfriend ordered a peppered steak that faired better in taste, but not by much. Staff was slow and food was bad. Will not be back."

  • "We were very impressed with how patiently the maitre d' got us a more satisfactory table. I had made reservations and so I did not want a table in the middle of the room which is where we were placed. When I complained, we were accommodated as soon as they could clear another, more satisfactory table. The food here is consistently very good and the service is definitely better than most. Our waitress was a bit slow but she was very polite. I always look forward to coming to this restaurant. The last time we were here, it was our anniversary and they had made a special effort to decorate our table. Very thoughtful."

  • "We discovered the Stockpot a couple of years ago. The first time we went was with friends, many years ago, and it was enjoyable, but for whatever reason, dined elsewhere. Then one evening we decided to go again. By the end of the evening, we knew it was "our" place. Why? Well, the service is excellent. You feel well cared for the entire evening. The food is very good! The seating is comfortable. There is just a welcoming atmosphere. We celebrated our last two anniversaries there and both were outstanding. Special care, special dessert...nice. Last Wednesday we were a party of 8 celebrating my husband's birthday. Again, totally cared for. Special dessert. What more could you want?!!"

However when we arrived, eventhough all the window tables were empty they sat us in a small table facing a wall. When I asked why, the host told me all the window tables were reserved. I said I had a reservation; he said yes but all those tables are only for four persons. Not true, two couples were sat at two of the tables."

  • "We went for brunch and have not been here in awhile. They have changed their brunch menu and it is terrific! There were so many great items we had a difficult time choosing. Our choices did not disappoint! The new french toast is stuffed with ham, turkey and cheese and is served with potatoes and fruit. The eggs benedict were cooked perfectly. The service was fast and friendly and we were never rushed. Can't wait to return and try some of the other choices!"

  • "The "Stockpot Broiler" name does not does not evoke an image of the fine dining experience this restaurant provides. On my first visit there years ago I expected a soup and snack bar closely associated with the golf course. That is not the case. Though excellent soups are a signature, the Stockpot offers excellent food and outstanding service. I think it's one of the best restaurants in the Portland western suburbs. Our dinner last night was perfectly prepared and the service was attentive. As an extra touch they served a complimentary dessert and champagne to honor our anniversary."

  • "We have been coming here for years, both for special occasions and just because it is close to where we live. We enjoy the food and the service is usually top-notch. My husband enjoys the steaks; I am a vegetarian and although there is nothing specifically on the menu, the chef is always willing to make something for me without hesitation. This time, instead of the pasta dish I usually get, I received a bright medley of roasted root vegetables with creme fraiche and nice balsamic-dressed greens. Very refreshing. My husband had the lamb shank, which he said was very tasty, but a bit over-cooked (he likes his meat rare). Our server was very attentive, until the place got busier, but we never felt neglected."
