  • "Hidden away in a residential neighborhood is this quaint restaurant. Reservations are recommended because it's not a big place. I had the cranberry salad and my husband the Caesar. My salad was too salty for my taste. The blue cheese too reminded me of Stella in a container.. dry without much texture or taste. My husbands Caesar on the other hand was tasty with the proper amount of anchovy flavoring. I had a chicken dish and he had a pork chop. Both acceptable dishes. For me, the best part of the meal was the cappuccino and biscotti. Both were exceptional. We will go back, but next time I'll try a pasta dish."

  • "We've dined at The Station for many years and it's always a wonderful experience from the pleasant atmosphere to the superb cuisine. In the last year or so they added calories next to some of the entrees which we haven't see at other such fine restaurants. Carlos is always happy to accommodate us and is so friendly and welcoming. We love the variety on the menu and the grill section where you get several options for how your meat or fish is prepared. My husband loves the filet mignon burgundy and our boys love the classic and creamy mac and cheese (we all steal some). The boys like to look up and see the trains go by too! The scalloped potatoes are heavenly and the pear tart is a favorite dessert."

  • "My husband and I tried The Station for the first time on Saturday. Great place that has a unique feel not fancy but not casual. The food was outstanding, I had the fish Tacos and my husband seared Tuna steak. The service was also terrific, never had to wait for anything the waiter was on top of everything from filling the water glass to our wine glass. Would highly recommend. Looking forward to going back during the warmer months when we could sit outside."

  • "I went here with a business associate for dinner. It is literally next to a train station. It's a bit tucked away and gps got it a bit wrong, but everyone was quite nice and the food was good. The staff was very friendly. They had a long list of daily specials which is always nice. I'll be back."

Greeted and presented with red rose when we arrived - host and staff very professional and friendly. Food was excellent and the meal was well paced - which is definitely something that can happen on a busy night. We will definitely be back!"

  • "I went to an early NYE dinner here, as I made a somewhat last minute reservation. The owner was there and was very generous and welcoming. I would've rated this 5 stars on all, because it really came quite close. The food was excellent, and service nearly impeccable. My only "complaint" was one of the waiters waiting on my date and I had a bit of an attitude. I felt like he was annoyed we didn't want alcohol or wine and that our bill would be lower. My date and I are 22 so I think, although he was young too, he had a preconceived notion that I wouldn't tip well. I still left a well above average tip because the rest of the service was fantastic. This place is 1.2 miles from my house and I had no idea it existed! I will definitely be back."

The Station at Mountain Lakes is just another fine expample of fine food, ambiance, and wonderful wait staff that makes it all worth while, even for the hour and 15 minute drive up north it took us to get there. Our guests live in the neighborhood and were certainly thrilled to have found a new spot to frequent on their own. Keep up the good work Open table and The Station we appreciate it."

  • "When I visit Mt. Lakes, I always work in time to have lunch or dinner at The Station. The menu choices are wonderful; the food quality always superb; and the service friendly and efficient, with each staff member very well trained to provide service quickly, but with ever being intrusive to the dining experience. On top of all that, the Station is housed in a glorious, but cozy railway station built in the early 1900's, which provides charm all on its own."

  • "The restaurant we'd planned on couldn't accommodate our party of 10, so I looked on Open Table for alternatives in the area. I'm glad I did. Our reservation was at 5:30 because of the kids. Only one other table was taken when we arrived. I have to admit it made me uncomfortable. But the tables started filling up and the noise level was such that we could have a conversation without feeling that we were drawing attention to our large table. My entre (shrimp with portabella mushrooms) was excellent as was the calamari appetizer I shared. Cappuccino after dinner was delicious with a nice presentation. The children were accommodated nicely despite the lack of a children's menu. Half orders of pasta out worked well."

  • "The staff greeted us immediately and seated us right away. Very quaint building with much history. We started out with the firecracker calamari which was fantastic. I ordered the special of sole stuffed with crabmeat. Others in my party ordered the jambalaya, shrimp with lobster ravioli and shrimp with spinach . Unique that the caloric content of many meals was listed on the menu. The wine was quite reasonable as well. I tried the bread pudding for dessert which was awesome. Topped off with a Mexican Coffee."

  • "As you walk in there's a very quaint intimate bar where the bartender is happy to serve. We had an 8 pm reservation, the table was ready. We were not rushed at the bar and once seated it was a wonderful dining experience. Loved everything about this restaurant and the servers! The food was delicious. Can't wait to go back!"
