A word from The Stanton Social
Chef/owner Chris Santos has teamed up with Tao owner Richard Wolf, Peter Kane originally of Double Happiness and Happy Ending, and the James Beard 'Best New Restaurant Design' award winning firm AvroKo, to create the newest 'jewel' of Manhattan's Lower East Side.

The design of this three level hot spot tips it's hat to the neighborhood’s garment history and offers diners a culinary odyssey. All menu items are designed for sharing, offering guests a chance to experience multiple dishes and flavors throughout their meal. In addition to its 120 seats, The Stanton Social offers a raw bar, a lounge and the hippest new bar in New York City. Dishes range from $7 - $18 each.

The food was delicious, interesting, different, the restaurant had a nice vibe, was fun and good for a large group.i was disappointed that dishes meant for 6 came without a serving piece,&when I asked the server for one, he said "huh?" I didn't think this as such a strange request. also, clean plates 1/2 thru meal were appreciated, but giving me back my dirty fork & knife wasn't. can't a nice restaurant replenish silverware????? waitress was good, but couldn't find her after the last main courses were served. hard to order dessert, coffee & get check.

One of the best meals I have ever had in my life. The food was incredible and came out at a perfect pace allowing us time to enjoy slowly but not leaving us looking around wondering where our food was. Great music, really fun place!

Food was very nice! Services was terrible, staff appeared all over the place. The music was way too loud and you couldn't hear each other. Twice they turned the music up. We are a young couple who go out all the time, and I have never considered the music too loud somewhere before.

They bring the food out quickly but give you enough time to enjoy just a few plates at a time which was great for a large group. They recommend you share a few dishes per group which was awesome as there were so many wonderful plates to try! Great overall experience.

The food was outstanding, with many interesting dishes that are unique to the restaurant. This is in addition to the dish that put them on the map, onion soup dumplings...which by the way lived up to its reputation. Tables are close together so be prepared to share conversations, if not actually food (which we did). The restaurant is a real gift to the Lower East Side, which has become a vibrant night spot.

My fiance and I went here on a double date with our friends and had a great time all around. We ordered 12 dishes to share, as the plates are all tapas-style good for sampling, and every single dish was delicious. The dishes that ranked highest in the group were the perogis, burger slider, french onion soup dumplings and the pastrami quesadilla. Dessert was good, too, but the savory plates here are the shining stars in my book! Can't wait to come back.

Amazingly good food in a sleek and sophisticated setting; however, the music could be lowered a bit to facilitate conversation. Service was excellent. Great 'small plates-style' menu designed to be shared; everyone raves about the French Onion dumplings (which are great) but don't miss the Mac and Cheese... absolutely fantastic! Fantastic place!

We loved this spot. Our daughter is a student at NYU, and lives in a near by apartment. We are always looking for good restaurant in her neighborhood. We were delighted. The small plate concept is perfect. We went with our daughter and each ordered 2 different things, allowing for 6 different tastings. Perfect amount, leaving just enough room for the fabulous dessert dounuts.

We arrived early and were asked to wait upstairs at the bar which was packed with under aged, sloppy people. We had one drink and waited downstairs until our table was ready. Tuna poke wontons were excellent, red snapper tacos lacked flavor, French onion soup dumplings were great and original, caprese pizzeta was okay. Chicken taquitos were okay. We ordered a dozen oysters but only 11 came out and it took about 10 mins for the 12th one to arrive. They only had one bottle of rose which wasn't that great. I might go back there, but I'll most likely just go back to beauty and Essex instead.

We arrived on time but ofcourse they send you upstairs to spend money at the bar. For Manhattan drinks weren't that bad, $14! 1st floor can be a bit crowded, 3rd floor is way more comfortable seating and beautiful! Great music and atmosphere.

Food and drinks were creative and tasty. Service was good. Restaurant is super crowded and loud. You will have difficulty having a conversation unless you come close to yelling. Tables are really close together and patrons get jostled from everyone walking by. I guess it is because the restaurant is trendy right now.

This is my second time here, and the menu is a bit changed... The seating is still very close and uncomfortable. -The group to my left kept staring all night. The tables are so close that they're basically one big table. I'm a pretty slim guy and I had to move the table in order to get up. The food was good but I felt that the original menu a few months ago was better. The chicken and waffles could not be eaten together because the chicken was too thick.

We adore small plate dining and the menu did not disappoint. At first they wanted to seat us upstairs which felt like "oh you made your reservation through Open Table" treatment, but they did move us to the main floor when we asked. Wait staff could not have been more personable and we never felt rushed, even ordered extra small plates part way in the food was so good! Smart about servings and party size, offering 1 extra piece pricing for things that fell short of 1 per diner. Exceptional desserts too. Would definitely go back!

Great food and service. Drinks are better made upstairs in the bar. Drinks at the table were good but not the same level of quality. Best of the night: Philly Cheesesteak slider, Nori Spiced Tuna Poke, Red Snapper Tacos and the Grilled Summer Squash Ravioli. Misses: Mac and Cheese was too salty and heavy. All-in a great experience - will definitely recommend and return.

I went here for my annivrersary on the reccomendation of a friend. First off....the place is great the for is outstanding....if I could eat there every night I would. Only negative thing.....crowded!!! It's best if you go with 3 or more people.....as a couple...you are sitting right on top of the folks around you. For an intimate dinner, probably not the spot...but for a group....you can't find a better spot! I'd go again for sure.

While the food was good, the service was indifferent and very slow. We should have realized this was going to be the case when we were shown to an (out of sight) table in the rear of the, nearly empty, restaurant. When we asked for a table up front we were given a good table, but it was clear that our server felt that we were too old to fit in. The restaurant fill quickly, and other tables were being served promptly, but we were ignored. This is a restaurant for hip, young folks, only.

Amazing creative food, great service and fantastic almost club-like atmosphere. Do not come here if you are expecting a quiet romantic dinner but if you want something a bit more fun and energetic, this is the place to go! Most portions come in 3s so I would recommend coming here with two other people. The french onion soup dumplings and pierogki are very good, but in my opinion there are some much better dishes on the menu. Absolutely worth trying are the lamb kebab, red snapper tacos, scallops and the ravioli. Will definitely be coming back!

Best place to eat dinner at NY! The french onion soup dumplings are just perfection and also the mini cobb salads. We were a group of two couples and we were in shock with the total price. We ordered almost 10 plates and the total price was almost 140. Really recommend the place and the lounge upstairs also is very nice. Now we just want to go to NYC just to eat at Stanton.

The Stanton Social was great - great food, great cocktails, great service. For a group of four 23 and 24 year old girls, the ambiance of the restaurant was perfect. Had a very lounge-like feel but very energetic as well. My only comment, and this isn't something bad, just an FYI for people going, the portions are small and meant to share, but are around the price of a normal sized entree at another restaurant. Definitely a restaurant meant for a special occasion like a date or with a special night out with a group of friends (we went for my friend's birthday) where you want to order a few plates for the table and don't mind spending a little extra on really great and fun food. Also, you can not pass up the French Onion Soup Dumplings!!

Cocktails are good but overpriced and very strong. Food is overpriced and small portioned, though delicious. Not as sceney as I expected given all the hype, it was boring compared to Tao, buddakan, or even beauty and Essex. For the amount you're paying to sit right on top of the people next to you and not be able to hear the person across from you, it's really really not worth it and they just try and rush you out.
