A word from The Stanton Social
Chef/owner Chris Santos has teamed up with Tao owner Richard Wolf, Peter Kane originally of Double Happiness and Happy Ending, and the James Beard 'Best New Restaurant Design' award winning firm AvroKo, to create the newest 'jewel' of Manhattan's Lower East Side.

The design of this three level hot spot tips it's hat to the neighborhood’s garment history and offers diners a culinary odyssey. All menu items are designed for sharing, offering guests a chance to experience multiple dishes and flavors throughout their meal. In addition to its 120 seats, The Stanton Social offers a raw bar, a lounge and the hippest new bar in New York City. Dishes range from $7 - $18 each.Continued

  • "We loved this spot. Our daughter is a student at NYU, and lives in a near by apartment. We are always looking for good restaurant in her neighborhood. We were delighted. The small plate concept is perfect. We went with our daughter and each ordered 2 different things, allowing for 6 different tastings. Perfect amount, leaving just enough room for the fabulous dessert dounuts."

  • "We arrived early and were asked to wait upstairs at the bar which was packed with under aged, sloppy people. We had one drink and waited downstairs until our table was ready. Tuna poke wontons were excellent, red snapper tacos lacked flavor, French onion soup dumplings were great and original, caprese pizzeta was okay. Chicken taquitos were okay. We ordered a dozen oysters but only 11 came out and it took about 10 mins for the 12th one to arrive. They only had one bottle of rose which wasn't that great. I might go back there, but I'll most likely just go back to beauty and Essex instead."

  • "We arrived on time but ofcourse they send you upstairs to spend money at the bar. For Manhattan drinks weren't that bad, $14! 1st floor can be a bit crowded, 3rd floor is way more comfortable seating and beautiful! Great music and atmosphere."

  • "Food and drinks were creative and tasty. Service was good. Restaurant is super crowded and loud. You will have difficulty having a conversation unless you come close to yelling. Tables are really close together and patrons get jostled from everyone walking by. I guess it is because the restaurant is trendy right now."

  • "This is my second time here, and the menu is a bit changed... The seating is still very close and uncomfortable. -The group to my left kept staring all night. The tables are so close that they're basically one big table. I'm a pretty slim guy and I had to move the table in order to get up. The food was good but I felt that the original menu a few months ago was better. The chicken and waffles could not be eaten together because the chicken was too thick."

  • "Overall food was delicious. But, courses were very rushed. We had seven dishes delivered and finished in less than an hour. Please slow down."

  • "Great food and service. Drinks are better made upstairs in the bar. Drinks at the table were good but not the same level of quality. Best of the night: Philly Cheesesteak slider, Nori Spiced Tuna Poke, Red Snapper Tacos and the Grilled Summer Squash Ravioli. Misses: Mac and Cheese was too salty and heavy. All-in a great experience - will definitely recommend and return."

  • "I went here for my annivrersary on the reccomendation of a friend. First off....the place is great the for is outstanding....if I could eat there every night I would. Only negative thing.....crowded!!! It's best if you go with 3 or more people.....as a couple...you are sitting right on top of the folks around you. For an intimate dinner, probably not the spot...but for a group....you can't find a better spot! I'd go again for sure."

  • "One of my favorite dinners in the city. The restaurant was lively, the tapas format lets you try a bunch of things....nothing disappointed, it was all delicious."

  • "Amazing creative food, great service and fantastic almost club-like atmosphere. Do not come here if you are expecting a quiet romantic dinner but if you want something a bit more fun and energetic, this is the place to go! Most portions come in 3s so I would recommend coming here with two other people. The french onion soup dumplings and pierogki are very good, but in my opinion there are some much better dishes on the menu. Absolutely worth trying are the lamb kebab, red snapper tacos, scallops and the ravioli. Will definitely be coming back!"

  • "Best place to eat dinner at NY! The french onion soup dumplings are just perfection and also the mini cobb salads. We were a group of two couples and we were in shock with the total price. We ordered almost 10 plates and the total price was almost 140. Really recommend the place and the lounge upstairs also is very nice. Now we just want to go to NYC just to eat at Stanton."

  • "Great place to begin a night out in the city. Friends visiting or looking for a girls night out, this is the spot. The cocktails are delicious and the atmosphere is very exciting and gives off the NYC vibe. Food wasn't horrible, but definitely not the best meal I've had. The atmosphere and cocktails make the mediocre food worthwhile."

  • "The Stanton Social was great - great food, great cocktails, great service. For a group of four 23 and 24 year old girls, the ambiance of the restaurant was perfect. Had a very lounge-like feel but very energetic as well. My only comment, and this isn't something bad, just an FYI for people going, the portions are small and meant to share, but are around the price of a normal sized entree at another restaurant. Definitely a restaurant meant for a special occasion like a date or with a special night out with a group of friends (we went for my friend's birthday) where you want to order a few plates for the table and don't mind spending a little extra on really great and fun food. Also, you can not pass up the French Onion Soup Dumplings!!"

  • "I loved everything about Stanton. Drinks kinda pricy and meal portions kinda small but I get the concept. Loved it. My girls and I will be back!"

  • "This is my second time there. The food is amazing. The cocktail list is great. Small plates are the way to go to try new things! the goat cheese perogies are a MUST HAVE!!!"

  • "The restaurant itself including the food, the ambiance, and the waitress were amazing. The host on the other is a real b!tch!"

  • "Cocktails are good but overpriced and very strong. Food is overpriced and small portioned, though delicious. Not as sceney as I expected given all the hype, it was boring compared to Tao, buddakan, or even beauty and Essex. For the amount you're paying to sit right on top of the people next to you and not be able to hear the person across from you, it's really really not worth it and they just try and rush you out."

  • "Food was outstanding. Five small plates and a couple of desserts were sufficient for two people to share. Service was good. The restaurant was packed so the noise level was a bit high. Glad to see that a restaurant that has been around for awhile still operates at a top level. Would definitely recommend to a friend."

  • "Our service and food was exceptional at The Stanton Social! I recommend this place to anyone I know going to NYC. The French onion dumplings are my absolute favorite and the tuna poke was out of this world!"

  • "Food was awesome and the atmosphere was upbeat and energetic. Service was great, they didn't miss a beat with the food coming out one after the other."

  • "My partner and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary at Stanton Social and the restaurant is the right mix of great food, innovative drinks and fun atmosphere. We arrived 1/2 hour early for our reservation and were welcomed and seated immediately. This was my second time experiencing the restaurant and I think it is a location that can accommodate any event, large or small."

  • "I hadn't visited Stanton Social in quite awhile and was very pleased. The food was delicious and the service fantastic. Dishes came out at a good pace, not too fast so we didn't feel rushed. I would recommend just getting 4 if there's two of you--it will be enough."
    Dined on 8/11/2014
  • "Dined on a 7 course gilt city voucher for 2. There was actually enough food for 4 people. At times there were plates flowing off our tiny table, which wasn't exactly relaxing. The French onion soup bites were so tasty. Service was attentive."

  • "I didn't think I'd be full from shareablr portions but the food was just so amazing here! The service was great, and super friendly."

  • "My partner and I took some friends who were visiting from out of town to brunch here. This was my first time having brunch at the Stanton Social. We sampled a variety of dishes and all were delicious!"

  • "Everything about this restaurant is good except the food coming out of the kitchen took forever."
    Dined on 8/10/2014
  • " make it very clear that when the guest use the other door (sign outside) there should be a sign to enter before you walk upstairs. The guest should not have to walk all the way back downstairs AND then be taken back upstairs to be seated. Someone should make the call down to the hostess and find out where the guest is being seated. Especially if the guest has made a reservation."

  • "The food is amazing, I've been here several times & I have to say anything you order of the menu is delicious. The service is great, the food came out fast and the waiters were pleasant. This restaurant is great for dinner with large groups and dates. And the drinks were Amazing!"

  • "Great atmposphere, a lot of fun for groups. good drinks. Food overall was very good, sometimes excellent. Some of the dishes are oustanding, some just good / OK. a little pricy, espcially if you include the drinks, but overall a great experience."
    Dined on 8/3/2014
  • "I would like to say that this place it very good. Portions are very small though."
    Dined on 8/3/2014
  • "Tapas style food, which is awesome for a big group. Fun way to try a bunch of different things and they have a wide variety of choices. Waitress also is able to fix the plate sizes to the amount of people at the table. The drinks here are also very very tasty. Try the Stawberry Fields, fresh mint & sugar cane muddled into strawberries; the perfect amount of sweetness. The plates are small though, so if you're looking for a hearty meal, it's not the restaurant for you. It's the perfect meal to have before going out for the night. Simple, fresh dishes with fun drinks. The one downside is the seating arrangement. We went on Friday night so they jammed packed everyone in. Request a side table if you can bc otherwise your chair will be hit"

  • "Great concept! Delicious food, expensive drinks and a hostess with a bad attitude."
    Dined on 8/1/2014
  • "The food is so delicious here. I like that it's small plates to be shared because you can try a little of everything. The drinks are made very well (and strong). The Brooklyn lemonade and the Margarita is very good. It's a great place to go with a bunch of friends who want to try different tastes. The service was great too."
    Dined on 7/29/2014
  • "The food was excellent, and innovative. Warning: do not order all your small plates at once - they will bring them...ALL AT ONCE. The tables cannot accomodate the number of dishes they bring out of the kitchen at one time. Eating here is kind of like going for sushi...you just keep ordering stuff that looks and sounds good. Before you know it you've spent $100 a person. The cocktails are very interesting and the wine list surprisingly unique. This is a true find in this very hot (lower east side) neighborhood. It's hard to imagine turn of the century emigres to NYC even thinking about this but it really does fit the newly upscale atmosphere."

  • "we stopped by for an early dinner, seated immediately, we got the oysters to start, fresh and delicious. Followed by 5 tapas to share. It is great to be able to try a little bit of everything, as EVERYTHING is so good! Go for the tuna wanton (my personal fav) but everything is put together so well."
