A word from The Stanton Social
Chef/owner Chris Santos has teamed up with Tao owner Richard Wolf, Peter Kane originally of Double Happiness and Happy Ending, and the James Beard 'Best New Restaurant Design' award winning firm AvroKo, to create the newest 'jewel' of Manhattan's Lower East Side.

The design of this three level hot spot tips it's hat to the neighborhood’s garment history and offers diners a culinary odyssey. All menu items are designed for sharing, offering guests a chance to experience multiple dishes and flavors throughout their meal. In addition to its 120 seats, The Stanton Social offers a raw bar, a lounge and the hippest new bar in New York City. Dishes range from $7 - $18 each.Continued

  • "Everything was great! I would highly recommend the Peirogi's."

  • "We cannot stop talking about how fantastic Stanton Social is! I think our party of 4 ordered almost everything on the menu and each and every dish was delicious. The staff were attentive and friendly and the atmosphere electric! Just remember to save room for the desserts - incredible."

  • "Good food and attentive service despite very busy evening. Especially on wine refills. Never had to worry about running low, but the service was not TOO attentive either. It's busy and noisy and New Yorky and fun. Not for a quiet romantic evening. Solid New York spot. Only reason I didn't grade 5 stars is I don't think it's trying to play in that league. Comparable to Beauty and Essex which is nearby."

  • "There is literally (and yes we mean literally) nothing better on this Earth than Stanton Social's French Onion Soup Dumplings. They are heaven. This restaurant is perfect for groups of people (2+) on account that you can order more than just an appetizer and dinner as you normally would at a regular restaurant. You can order several smaller plates and share them, so you are really getting a taste of the incredible menu put together at Stanton Social. And just when you think your stomach can't expand anymore, the next dish comes out and you somehow find room to accommodate it. We (my best friend and I who are self proclaimed foodies- actually she is and I just follow and am never disappointed) HIGHLY recommend trying and coming back."

  • "My daughter, who just turned 23, chose this restaurant for her birthday dinner. There were five of us; my husband, myself, my birthday girl and our two other children who are very close in age to her. We had a fabulous time. Loved the atmosphere and the food; the sharing concept made it so much fun, and I loved the creativity of the food. The hosts were very gracious; we were quite late due to traffic but they accommodated us quickly after sending us upstairs for a short time to the bar. At the end of the meal they brought out a cupcake with a candle for my daughter, although I never requested it. Would love to return."

  • "Went for brunch with a friend. The breakfast brushetta was absolutely delish! One more piece could be added to the portion size as they only give 3. The food prices were ok but no drink specials are offered and the brunch cocktails were pricey. Overall good pick..."

  • "I usually only order vodka drinks but all of the drinks on the menu sounded delicious and ended up ordering a gin cocktail and spicy margarita. Want to go back and try the rest!"

  • "This place is amazing. This is great for coming with a large group of people since the restaurant serves small plates. I highly recommend the french onion dumplings and the perogies. In addition, I had the best time here for brunch. I recommend the eggs with bruchetta dish along with the cinammon buns. Must try this place out!"

  • "The menu is whimsical and experimental. Everything we tasted was unique and delicious. Love the portion sizes. Makes the whole experience fun!"

  • "By far possibly the best food experience I've ever had. Went with my lady and we were blown away. We went on a Friday night, so the noise levels were extreme, but gradually tapered off towards the end of the night...worth it to make a late night reservation at around 10pm...or just on a casual weeknight. There's a great and lively upstairs bar if you want to hang and just have drinks. But come for the food...trust me!!"

  • "Everything was wonderful. Especially loved the Potato & Goat Cheese Pierogies and the French Onion Soup Dumplings"

  • "Each time we go, the food is consistently good. Amazing how they can create such a wonderful combination of flavors in one bite! It's pretty noisy, not good for conversation, but great for a fun night with friends who love good food!"

  • "I dined here at 6 on a Wednesday. It was fairly slow when we arrived but packed and loud by 8. Cocktails were very weak, especially for $14 a pop. The tapas were all very tasty. I enjoyed the meatballs and arepas best. The corn side dish was good but not amazing. Mac & cheese was quite good. The barbacoa tacos were ok. They were a little bland for lamb. I was surprised that they were out of so many sliders considering how early it was. We were unable to order the ones we wanted. The pace of the food brought to the table was good. There were two of us and she brought 2 plates each time. I would definitely like to go back and try dessert but I don't think I'll be hanging out at the bar with the way they make their drinks."

  • "I have to say I did enjoy the ambience. The food was okay but the service (female host and waitress) was just ridiculous. Definitely not going back and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone especially if you're visiting NYC like my friend and I. However, I did speak to a male host(?) prior to the dinner in regards to being late and he was really nice."

  • "We found it to be a yuppie type of place and did not realize from looking at their menu that it was a Tapa's restaurant. The prices looked so high and sounded like a salmon dish but was just a tapa plate. The service was awful but the food was good but very very pricey for what you get. One of those restaurants that you walk away hungry."

  • "I've wanted to try this place, even though it's in another world waay downtown. Resv. was for 9pm, we sat down @ 9:45. That was a little annoying, but our waitress was really nice and the music was good. So we got over that pretty quickly. The food is really good, except I did'nt like the french onion dumplins--which seem to be very popular, not sure why. The mac and cheese and french fries were outstanding!!! It's a very young "look @ me" taking selfies type of crowd, seems like everyone is trying to hard."

  • "Their kobe beef sliders are nothing less than perfection. You wish it was a full size burger.. Their chorizo mac and cheese is outstanding as well."

  • "Enjoyed a wonderful meal on 7/12/14. A special delight was the Chicken and Waffles, they were the best thing of the evening. Only disappointment was the lack of Crabcake Corndogs. They were taken off the menu, which is a shame because we come back each time specifically for them. I hope for their return soon."

  • "The food at SS is always delicious. However, the last two times I have eaten at SS I have had reservations and both times it has been at least a 45 minute wait beyond the time I was reserved. I do understand that it gets very loud and people are having a good time and don't want to leave. It is definitely a younger crowd and maybe people don't adhere to their reservations as strictly. But we were supposed to be seated at 9:45 and we didn't even get a piece of food until well past 11, without a single apology. Our waitress was great, but the hostess barely looked us in the eye and there was a line of angry people trying to get seated. It seemed chaotic and unprofessional. I will go back bc it is on my block, but never late at night."

  • "The food is amazing here BUT the hostess is not very pleasant and the manager is not very customer service oriented. Our reservation was at 9:15, however we were not seated until 10:10.....when we complained it was taking so long the manager did not apologize but tried to accuse us that it was our fault for not all arriving at the same time. No reservations were being seating at the correct time. If you can't hold any reservations for an entire night then don't have reservations at all! Overall very loud and hard to hold a conversation. We were seated upstairs at bar table seating and it was just very loud. We were a party of five and they squished us at a stable for 4, with our fifth person sitting on the end in a doorway."

  • "We waited an hour after our reservation to actually be seated. We fought crowds and got pushed and bombarded by other upset patrons. This was a terrible experience. Food portions were microscopic. This place is overhyped and the manager was over-the-top rude. Awful service. Never again with this nightmare."

  • "Food was excellent and our waitress was amazing. However, the wait for our table, even though we had a reservation, was silly. We were told to wait in the bar upstairs which was uncomfortably packed so we ended up standing in the street. The venue was beautiful but too dark for reading the menu. The music wasn't restaurant appropriate. It was loud, dance music which made conversation difficult."

  • "Ordered drinks that never came and waiter literally never came back for us and assisted other parties before us, terrible service"

  • "The food here is fantastic albeit expensive. Small plates of delicious morsels seems to cost a lot of $. That being said I had a great time. My only other complaint would be that the seating area for dining for 2 is too crowded. I was worried on more than one occasion that the waiter would elbow my dining partner in the face while taking our neighboring table's order."

  • "Had a great dinner with a friend on her birthday, ordered lots because there are so many fantastic options, each one was incredible! Especially the tuna poke wontons! Fun, vibrant spot in my favourite Manhattan neighbourhood."

  • "Extremely noisy, bathroom line forever, tables too close. Cheese stunk up the whole place. Lobster rolls ok, lamb gyro ok, sliders ok. The rest NO good. Ribs taste like desert(why??) screwed them up royaly. What a shame. And no salad, not one. Crossing them out of my book"

  • "We arrived early on a Saturday morning for brunch with a couple from out of town. It took us over 10 minutes just to get water. After ordering drinks, it took another 20 minutes for them to arrive. When the waiter finally returned we were able to order our food. Food delivery took much less time and was amazing. The gentleman bussing the tables did a great job and kept the table clear. We ended up ordering another round of drinks that never even showed up! While we enjoyed the food and spending time together, we will not be returning to the Stanton Social until we know that service has improved."

  • "This place was the perfect spot to celebrate my fiancé's birthday. The food was amazing, there wasn't a single menu item we didn't love. We ordered a lot of small plates to share and it was perfect."

  • "The food was outstanding and so was our server. I definitely would recommend it; however, make sure you are NOT seated upstairs in the bar area where it is noisy and people coming and going, as it is the waiting area until their tables are ready downstairs."

  • "From our first taste, we have been hooked! We have visited NYC six times over the past six months and have eaten at Stanton Social every time! Our family spans three generations, and everyone in our family loves it! We love everything about it, from the high energy atmosphere to every delicious small plate (esp. Onion Soup Dumplings and Snapper Tacos!) We will keep coming back."

  • "This place used to be great. Now its fallen into the typical tourist trap.. Food has gone downhill, seems mass produced and the servers rush you to get their next reservation in. Very dissapointed."

  • "I had heard great things about this place and I wasn't disappointed. Apart from the decor and ambiance being well suited for a date night, the food was phenomenal: The food was fantastic: French Onion Soup Dumplings (Probably the best out of the 4) Potato & Goat Cheese Pierogies Red Snapper Tacos Chicken n Waffles The cocktails were great as well. I had the strawberry fields and my date had the Blood Orange-Jalapeño Margarita (only get it if you love spicy food/drinks)."

  • "Great great service, really good cocktails, couldn't be happier with my experience here. The menu is well structured so that you can get a taste of a bunch of different small plates and the larger ones as well. Highly recommended!"

  • "Recommended for a brief visit with adult daughter. We called twice on Monday to move back our reservation to 9:45, and they were very accomodating. We were seated immediately downstairs in a booth with a roomy table. It was lively, noisy, but fine. Drinks and leisurely dishes were well timed. Though reviewers call tapas, they are substantial. We followed the servier's advice and had onion soup dumplings and pierogies-- the pierogies were surprising and luscious. The baby spinach salad was ample with interesting "findings" tossed into it. Red snapper tacos were unimpressive, though, spicy but no theme. We look forward to return to try more dishes. An easy walk if you are staying in SOHO."

  • "This wont be a place to find your normal brunch specials, but it will change your mind about what you "normally' get. The menu items were hard to choose from since me and my girlfriends all wanted to try the oreo cookie pancakes. We opted to get 2-3 items each and shared with each other. We were not disappointed in any of our choices and couldn't decide which was our favorite. But,we did decide that the oreo cookie pancakes were the best and something we will be coming back for!"

  • "We had a reservation for two at 10:30, but didn't get seated until 11pm (which we expected, considering there was a line out the door.) The staff was very accommodating, directing us upstairs to the bar. The drinks were good and the music was lively. Once we were seated our server was doting, but did not hover. And when we had to wait extra long for our dessert (s'more creme brulee, oh my), they came out and told us it would be free of charge, without us ever saying a word about it. It was crowded, and the noise level was quite high, but what do you expect from a restaurant/bar on the LES on a Saturday night? Oh, and the French onion soup dumplings, so good — and this is coming from a girl that would eat soup everyday if she could!"
