Beginning with free valet parking, cheerful and attentitive staff, beautiful views of the bay and San Francisco in the background and of course, wonderfully prepared seafood. It was great to watch paddle boarders, kayaks, sail boats and fishing boats cruise right in front of the restaurant on a beautiful and sunny day. Finally, desperate for a salmon dinner, I checked your prices and was pleasantly surprised. The entire experience was very pleasant, except for two glitches with the service - one, the waiter apparently did not know my table was his to serve, and it took a long time to get a glass of wine. After that, it was fin - until I got up to go to the ladies' room, and when I returned to the table, my leftovers had vanished. He did bring me a new portion, but I don't like to waste food. Actually our second time eating there. The service was superb as was the food. The waitress recommended good wines and good entrees and neither disappointed. We spent two weeks traveling northern California and San Francisco, and this was one of the best meals we had. I would definitely recommend this for lunch or dinner. Sausalito is such a delightful town and this restaurant gives you such a nice view. Wait for a table by the window - it is definitely worth it, even if you have to have a drink in the bar first. The menu changes to dinner at 3pm, but still a great choice of light meals such as the Spinnaker salad that I had. Seafood salad was fresh and excellent tasting. Waiter was very cooperative in adding and subtracting items in the salad to suit my tastes. Waiter had a choice of meals for my 5 year old that worked out fine. Excellent service, beautiful view of the bay including the SF skyline and the GG towers above the local hill tops. Postcard views, easy parking including free valet, and friendly service. It had plenty of fish and was very tasty. Fish was fresh. Also the red clam chowder was wonderful. Plenty of clams. Spinnaker is our special occasion restaurant and to be honest we do Sunday brunches and lunch. We have yet to have a disappointing meal. Those planning the event purposely suggested gathering at the Spinnaker because of the beautiful combination of location, food and ambiance. We were not disappointed! And we were especially blessed with absolutely gorgeous weather!! The service was excellent making our special event a very satisfying experience.
I am a native San Franciscan who moved away many years ago and this has been the best weather, best hotel experience, best Spinnaker food of all the several times I have had the pleasure to return to my hometown. Even with the large group, our service was excellent.

When we walked in we noticed a distinct "old" smell that was somewhat nostalgic for us, but may be offensive to others. We imagined that the likes of Crosby, Hope, Sinatra dined there. Our group varies up to 6 but this time only 4 of us attended. We took the ferry from San Francisco to Sausolito having a Bloody Mary on the way. The resturant was buisy but by booking through table for 4 no problem. We were seated at a table near the corner with outstanding views of the San Francisco skyline, alcatraz island, and much more. we stared with Mumm's , a good value, then had another with lunch, we had seafood salad & 1 green salad all good, then 3 sea bass, excelent & 1 scalop very good. a bottle of coopola pino, very good. It was so GOOD then we drove back from Napa to dine there again during that trip. This year they did not disappoint. It felt like we had only been gone a week.
The food was EXCELLENT and the service was SUPERB! We plan to return to Wine Country again in 2015 and Spinnaker will DEFINITELY be on our list for a return visit.

We had a table along the window that has an incomparable view of the city at night which is so beautiful. I had a butter lettuce salad to start that was OK, not as good as it has been in the past; it could use more blue cheese and only found one piece apple. I had the sole dore as my entree which was delicious. My husband had the chowder to start that was good and the sole cooked just the way he liked it. Our friends also enjoyed their meals including a great steak. We love The Spinnaker. I would recommend it to anyone and can't wait for our next visit.12/26/2012 12:00:00 AMOld School Supper Club has CharmBefore booking I looked at various reviews and one really stood out about how boring this place is, with a boring dull view. So despite that I went. This is old school dining, Start with a cocktail, then Salad, then appetizer, then dinner then dessert. FOod is served on carts, dishes are prepared tableside. The servers have made a career of serving, it's not their side job to pay off student loans.
If you want cuisine that is cutting edge, go elsewhere, if you want good service, good food, and a GREAT VIEW then The Spinnaker is the place.
