A varied menu of well-prepared, mainly Southeast Asian-inspired dishes doesn't quite overcome The Spice Table's inexcusably slow kitchen. This is a high-energy dining room where, paradoxically, nothing seems to be happening, at least when it comes to getting food to your table. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable, yet after our wine was served we waited about 20 minutes for the first of our small-plate dishes--satay skewers--to arrive. Then we waited about 15 minutes more in between each of the courses that followed--a flawed system, since each dish was tapas-sized. Not even bread arrives to fill the gaps (a baguette, served plain on a plate, actually costs extra). In all, we liked the food, but the pacing is a mess.

Once again this is my 3rd visit in as many weeks each time with a different guest. About half of The specials tend to stick around and remain but about half of them drop off and new and different items take their place. I really enjoy the flavors and the size of the items makes about 3 plates each per guest about right

food was good, not great. Any one of those dishes would be better at a specialty restaurant (i.e. Sichuan peanuts at a Sichuan place, chicken curry at a South Asian place, etc.). Atmosphere is fun and lively and service was quite good.

If you like "small plates", this is a great place. With easy parking, and on the east edge of Little Tokyo, this is an excellent pre-symphony or pre-theater dining spot. The chicken wings were truly superb, as was the pork satay, and the various sauces had a delightful bite. The only negative in the main dining room is the sound level, which seems to hover around 140 db. If there are just a few of you, try the bar -- much quieter.

The space was beautiful, but the music was on way too loud. Our party of two selected sambal potatoes, fried cauliflower, brussel sprouts, curry fried chicken wings and the pig tail. Overall, the food was too salty. Best dishes include chicken wings and cauliflower. The other dishes were a big miss.

This is my second visit to this Establishment and I probably will visit from time to time to take advantage of all the specials. I have eaten my way through about 50% of the menu in my 2 visits so far.Everything was very delicious on my last visit the special pig tail was good the Cauliflower is a big seller I saw more plates of that gong out to the room than anything else

Seldom do you find a menu where every item sounds delicious (regardless of the typical appeal of the ingredient featured). A small warm and friendly space with efficient well-informed staff helped make a casual night out on a rainy day into a memorable time. The balance of flavors and the excellent beer and wine choices made make for perfect pairings. The only disappointment (all too common) was the decision in an intimate space to select hard surfaces/ceilings, purposefully increasing the decibel level and then adding loud music on top of that. The food, ambience and service here stand on their own and don't need a noisy artifice to make the restaurant seem "happening".

Their food can be fatty and over spiced but overall good.
I wouldn't recommend the prawns, it tasted mushy and the crab with toast is over whelming.
I did like the curry wings and kale, portions are tapas style, easily shared between 2 people.

Some of the dishes were great (special spare ribs); others disappointing (Laksa). Food was uneven. Eggplant was tasty, but too much red stuff mounded on top; overpowered the eggplant. Service was very attentive, which was appreciated since this was our first time to Spice Table. We thoroughly enjoyed the wine pairing -- we left it up to our waiter who brought us a great 3-some.
