  • "My son will be attending college in the area in the fall and we were in town for a visit and not familiar with the area. My wife read the reviews on Open Table and we thought we would give it a try. The menu had nice selections and our server Amy did a nice job explaining some of the choices and the specials. The lobster bisque comes comes with a healthy portion of lobster. The Arctic Char and Salmon specials were great and the Seared Tuna from the regualr menu selection was excelent. We plan on returning when in the area for a visit."

  • "We took the family to Sole Proprietor after the NCAA Regional Hockey Finals at the DCU Center. We were a bit under-dressed but welcomed warmly. The food and wine selections are excellent. The $100 Kosta Browne Chardonnay a great deal. In fact, the prices for eating and drinking came to about 75-80% of Boston prices. They run service through a team and sometimes that is a bit confusing (two drink orders never arrived) but all the servers were very nice and well informed. Try the crispy tuna roll!"

  • "I've been going to the Sole since my college days back in the 1980's. Their menu has never ceased to amaze me. Their shellfish and sushi appetizers are very fresh. The menu appeals to meat and seafood lovers alike. Their beverage menu includes an array of wines from all over the world, eclectic drinks, beers, and dessert cordials. The desserts are made on the premises and are just a perfect way to end an exquisite dining experience. The wait staff were attentive and polite. You can't go wrong at The Sole. ..."

Only minor issues was that servers weren't around much but when they came they gave us the best attention. Best part was that this isn't like many Restaurants that give you too much food or too little the sole have you right in the middle which was great to keep us satisfied."

  • "Went here cor my anniversary a few nights ago. After not being there for a few years, I wondered if it was as it always has been, Well...I was not at all disappointed at all. All service from top to bottom was greaf, Sushi was spectacular and a great appetizer before our mea. For our meals we had a Shrimp, Scallops and Steak Surf & Turf that was iut of this world! Then Cheescake cod Dessert was huge and fresh and delicious! I highly recommend The "Sole" for any occasion or even just an easy night out!"

  • "The menu was exhaustive, the service was impeccable, and the food was well prepared and served on warmed plates. Although my swordfish was a bit overcooked, it was very tasty. My wife's steamed mussels were excellent. However, at 5 PM, the restaurant was already out of several specials. That seemed pretty early. We did enjoy the overall experience even though."

  • "A few problems with the set up: - The table we were sat at was set for four and had four chairs in a side by side arrangement, pushing us to one side of the table. It should have been set for two with just two chairs. - Silverware and napkin were set on the wrong side of the plate. - The menus were huge and difficult to manage in the cramped space. - The tables were so close together that I was getting bumped into throughout dinner. Once past the general discomfort, the staff of the Sole Proprietor helped to save our experience by being friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. The tandem approach to serving allowed them to back each other up when fulfilling requests. The food was decent but not great. Portion size was perfect for me."

  • "I'm a regular at the Sole; lunch and dinner. Hosts and wait staff are without equal. It is simply the place to go for fish. Sushi was great as we're the oysters. Drinks always are good. For the first time ever, the food had slipped a tiny bit. My wife's sword fish was a bit dry. I had the steak and lobster tail. The lobster tail was great as we're the sides. The steak however lacking. I asked for it to be blackened (charted outside and less done inside, kind of like B&B.) Well it came out well done without charring and dry. Still, the Sole is my favorite restaurant InWorcester. Suggestion: Please bring back crispy fish Caesar! Thanks"

  • "The Sole Proprietor is our go-to favorite in Worcester, but this time was disappointing, especially since we were there with friends from Hartford who had never been and to whom we had raved. Our drinks came out slowly, one at a time. First, one beer. Several minutes later, the second beer. An even longer wait, and the last two drinks were served. Very awkward. The pace of the food service, on the other hand, was much too fast. Two of us ordered chowder, but still had more than half to finish when the entrees were served. The usually fabulous food was a let-down, too. On two lobster salad sandwiches, the lobster was plentiful, but needed a little more flavor, and the taste and texture of the brioche roll was like day-old bread."

This fine restaurant continues to provide original and inventive dishes at reasonable prices with first-class, attentive service. Except for the occasional outburst from a large party of exuberant diners seated right behind me, the noise level was quite tolerable and dinner conversation was not a problem.. The possibility of ordering from the luncheon menu (smaller portions and lower prices) even at dinner is an added plus. I ordered the grilled ORA Salmon (approx. 7-1/2 oz.) from the luncheon menu. My guest ordered the hanger steak/lobster tail combination from the dinner menu. Both dishes were prepared perfectly."
