A casual American Brasserie with two upbeat locations in New York City: The Smith East Village, and The Smith Midtown. Utilizing local products and purveyors, the breakfast, lunch, brunch and dinner, menus feature a selection of familiar bistro dishes. Signature dishes at both locations include… Crispy Fried Calamari "Brooklyn Style," Pot of Mussels with perfectly cooked hand cut fries and four different cuts of char broiled steaks.

The Smith offers an elaborate menu of classic and signature cocktails made with fresh fruit and herbs. Seven local hand crafted beers are available on tap and a selection of 20 wines are available by the glass or carafe, as well as a hand selected bottle list. "Food was fine. Noise was RIDUCULOUSLY loud and annoying. If you are looking for a quiet place to eat, don't go there! My ears were ringing when we left.

Another annoyance was the fact that the hostess wouldn't seat a party of 5 even though everyone except the 5th person was there! Did I mention that the restaurant was completely empty? Anway, that is just something that will make me tell folks not to go there. I certainly wont go back."

"Not the best food. I had the Trout Milanese and my friend had the Chicken Pot Pie. Good basic food, but nothing to write home about. It was loud in the restaurant and had to shout to have a conversation. Vibrant bar scene and impeccable service."

"The crab cake was super salty. The Flat Bread was Okayed. House wine is not good, but charging $12.00 a glass. Bartender serving wine on a small water glass. I asked to
change to a wine glass! Instead of giving a new Glass of wine on a proper wine glass,
he pour the wine from the water glass on to the wine glass right in front of me. !! Wow. !! Classy !!!
My friend has a burger, and he said it was okayed."

"Sorely needed brunch spot in the Midtown East/ Sutton Place area, I had the Mushroom Herb Omelet. Really excellent flavor. My wife had Red Velvet Pancakes and was in heaven. We also got a pastry basket. Generous portion with Herb Cheese Biscuit, Donuts, Chocolate Bread and a couple of Muffins. Looking forward to going back."
