The Smith - Lincoln CenterA delightful place to dineA delightful place to dine as long as you eat outside on the large sidewalk patio where the street noise is not really a problem and a lot better than the din inside the restaurant.Wonderful waiters and very tasty food, especially the buratta salad, the mussels and the fabulous sticky toffee pudding.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome nightGreat service
Great food
Great menu
Expensive.......5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent neighborhood diningExcellent neighborhood dining spot...food always delicious...Love the menu, great service5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat neighborhood additionExactly what this neighborhood needed! It's vibrant, friendly, and good food. I will absolutely be returning.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMFussy EaterRestaurant was really enjoyable. Menu had something for every taste. Prices were fair. Only complaint was the noise level. Eating outside was a better choice if you wanted to hear yourself and others at your table talk. Nice to have it in the neighborhood.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMMore than a dull roar!Liked the food, the service was quite good, the sound level considerably louder than energetic. Filled with large groups, almost all yelling in a taproom with aall hard, reflective services.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent breakfast meeting spotConveniently located, (as of this writing) not at all crowded in the morning, perfect oatmeal and berries and the coffee keeps coming: perfect for that coffee or breakfast meeting.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day DinnerThis place is awesome. All three establishments are nice. Had a Mother's Day dinner here for 4 and we had a great time. The potato chips+blue cheese for appetizer was delicious. The portions are big for dinner entrees. I had the Mussels which were fantastic! The black pasta + shrimp was good also. My mom had a wonderful time and thought the food was delicious.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, great service!I had the trout and my wife had the salmon. Both dishes finely done;the salmon soft, moist, flaky and the trout lightly covered with a delicious crust. The grits were delicious: had well balanced flavor of cheese and jalapeno but perhaps could have had more spice heat. The dessert, stickt toffee pudding: delicious! And the service? Great!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Place near Lincoln CtrThis restaurant has great food with a creative menu and friendly service.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMgood alternative for opera dinnerAmazing ahi tuna salad. A bit noisy but overall great5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways enjoy it ...loveliestAlways enjoy it ...loveliest weather contributed to a terrific dining experience outdoors.....5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMlocation location!Smith usually comes through. The service was outstanding as usual. The only problem was the prime rib - a bit too gristly. However the sauce gave it a perky flavor. This is the first time I found the meat difficult to chew in this place. Everything is usually just fine. And best of all, it is right at Lincoln Center.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMToo Noisy for RomanceI would recommend The Smith at Lincoln Center to a friend only if that friend was planning to go alone, or it it were nice enough to eat outdoors (quieter). I would not suggest it to entertain people we've not seen for a while because it is too noisy to hold a decent conversation. Maybe it is designed for those who would rather use electronic devises, or have no contact with others.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMAddictive!!I love this place. I first went there for brunch with a friend and I fell in love with the restaurant on the spot. The food is absolutely delicious and they have the best sticky toffee pudding in New York! The service is friendly and generous!!
A must try are the deviled eggs, and the fondue chips...but so far I had not gotten a single item I had not loved!
Last time I was there I was celebrating my birthday with a group of 7 and they made us feel at home from the first moment. I highly recommend it!5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMAddition To Lincoln Center DiningGood food but beware: It gets very noisy as diners have to compete with overly loud, unnecessary and annoying music..5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMNot Since The SaloonGood addition to the neighborhood, which has been without this kind of restaurant/pub since the demise of The Saloon. Waiters are charming and aim to please! But, beware, seats are not all that comfortable.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMBest place in Lincoln centerThis is by far the best place in Lincoln Center. Great food, service and prices. Can't go wrong here! Have the brussel sprouts!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMOnce Again, did not Disappoint!I had to go to have my absolute favorite Roasted Tomato Soup, and my friend and I had a great corner table outside - the weather cooperated, and so did everything else! My friend had the Oyster sliders (she gave me one) and they were sensational! Also, if I could have your french fries more often, I would be in heaven - perfection!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMNot as noisy as anticipatedAfter reading some of the on-line reviews, I was expecting to not be able to hear myself think. Yet the noise level was perfectly moderate (we sat in the front section), atmosphere lively yet pleasant, food quite good across our party of four, and service efficient and considerate of our 8:00 p.m. Lincoln Center curtain time. We will be back for sure.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat pre Lincoln Center eateryMenu offerings are extensive and well priced the staff is very friendly and helpful The service is very professional I would recommend The Smith for lunch and dinner The prices are very reasonable Overall,I highly recommend The Smith5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was recommeneded to usThis was recommeneded to us and we are greatly pleased with "The Smith" The service was great, the food was delicious. Enjoyed the location!! Could not have been happier with the whole dining experience!!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMI love this place which isI love this place which is an excellent addition to the neighborhood!! The vibe is cool, food is delicious and service is a 10. It is a great place to go and kick back with friends for brunch, lunch or dinner. I am obsessed with their salad and fish when I am being good. And they have killer fries and hot potato chips when I am being bad.
It is also very kid friendly..they have room for strollers, plently of high chairs, and will serve you quickly if you need to be in and out.
Great people watching and outdoor seating when the weather permits.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food & service but too loudCelebrated my 50th bday which was a Thursday after 8:30. The place was full. Still, the service and attention was exceptional. The food was extremely good. The decor is attractive. The only problem is the noise level: we had to yell to be heard at our table of five. We were in the back room so not sure if the front room is much better. If you don't like loud spaces then this is definitely a deal breaker. Which is too bad because otherwise I would have given it 5 stars overall.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMService and food are alwaysService and food are always good, but the noise level makes conversation with anyone but a spouse or significant other (someone you're comfortable with talking cheek to cheek).5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMDinner after a concertThank goodness we had reservations. We were seated promptly and our meal was excellent. The hit of the evening was the gnocchi. The chicken pot pie had a wonderful crust. The flatbread was OK but the artichokes were overwhelmed by the cheese. Service was attentive and the restaurant was bustling with an exuberant mix of clientele. As the temperature outside cooled, so did the inside temperature of the restaurant, because the outside windows were left open.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWe love The Smith! We typicallyWe love The Smith! Great service from Brad.
Will come again.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMLOVE the smith! Just discoveredLOVE the smith! Just discovered it a few months ago and have already gone several times! Much better to go with a reservation, but worth the wait if going there is a last minute decision! Have had brunch and dinner there, both delicious! Never had anything I didn't like to eat or drink! Sometimes the service is a little slow/inconsistent, but never enough that it would prevent me from wanting to go back! I take all my out of town friends here, and like to introduce my friends who have not yet been to the new UWS location. New favorite spot!4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Smith has a great barThe Smith has a great bar and an interesting menu. There's something for everyone; comfort food, great dinner salads & kid friendly selections. The staff is attentive and get the food out from the kitchen hot and in a reasonalble time period even when the restaurant is jammed. Is it gourmet dining? No but it's a great place to go with friends before a performance at Lincoln Center. We've eaten at The Smith several times and have never been disappointed.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent meal. Our Waiter was an absolute doll! The food was great (chips with blue cheese, pretzels with a tangy sauce, sliders, a few other things) with perfectly made martinis. Will be back often as I live in the area. Many thanks and keep up the great work!4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect place for a clientPerfect place for a client lunch on a beautiful day. Even got some business done!4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMLast Wed. was a beautifulLast Wed. was a beautiful day. We five ate at a table outside/inside and were all pleased
WITH THE ambience and food. Our waiter was hospitable and there for us when we needed him; absent when we didn't.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMToo much of good thingsNoise and superfluous food....No, not for romanticism...too noisy. However! In pleasant weather, the sidewalk tables offer refuge from the deafening noise inside. The portions are huge. I prefer not to have the fries cascading off the plate. Again: the hamburger is outstanding...just too much of a good thing.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMvery good food, fun, casualvery good food, fun, casual atmosphere, fair prices4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMA very high energy restaurant,A very high energy restaurant, great decor, great cocktail list and the food was very good!
