  • "Marty, our waiter, was so much fun and has been with this restaurant for 16 years."

  • "Great views of the Long Beach Harbor. The old Breakers Hotel is an Historical building but the top floor is re-done in art deco/contemporary. Dinner & dancing must be fun here. Our Easter brunch was good, but pricey. Guess they all are. Good service, valet parking."

  • "This restaurant is full of amazing views from downtown long beach to the beaches of long beach. The food is great and our server was so helpful considering it was our first time. The band was amazing also A little bit pricey but worth it for a romantic candlelit dinner "

  • "Special occasion was four friends celebrating their friendship together a special evening at the sky room! Our waiter was excellent he was very personable and had a great understanding of the food and wine! We felt like birds perched up I overrlooking the beautiful views....afterglow of sunset and then city lights over the water . Food was excellent and service the best! We shall return!! "

  • "I went on date here, it was very romantic atmosphere, the servers were nice and friendly and the food i'll say was not the best but because of the place it made it worth while. I really enjoyed it."

  • "This was my first time at The Sky Room so I didn't know what to expect. I was expecting snooty but it was really nice. Food was delicious, atmosphere was nice, I loved the little dance floor. Our waiter was so sweet and informed about the menu and gave recommendations. I really enjoyed it and will be returning."

  • "I got a group of friends together and we all met at The Sky Room to hear the band, have some dinner and dance. We had a great time and stayed until they closed. The food was fantastic as was the music & dancing."

  • "I brought my boyfriend here for his birthday dinner which unfortunately was the same weekend as the Long Beach Grand Prix. There was really loud music coming from that festival and interrupted the ambiance and romance of the resturant. Once it stopped though I understood why this is one of the most romantic resturants; the lighting, music, food and service is wonderful. I just wish that the loud outside music hadn't been playing through most of our dinner."

  • "The Sky Room is one the most romantic places in town. The Art Deco building and decor can't be beat. From the moment you walk into the building and are greeted by the friendly, helpful staff, you know you are in the special place. The menu is a bit limited, but the focus here is on quality, and they meet that goal. Dining at The Sky Room has been a long-time tradition for us and will continue to be so."

  • "My hubby and I went ventured here last weekend. The building and atmoshphere are so charming, taking me back to another era with its 3 piece jazz band. This isn't the place to have a quiet evening out, particularly if you are seated close to the stage/dance area. Though the lobster mac n cheese was really delicious, the food overall was good, not great. But the ambience and views more than make up for it all. Would definitely recommend for a special occassion. Bring your dancing shoes ;-)"

  • "We came for Dine Long Beach Week. We were led to the back dining room, which was out of earshot of the music. We were not given LB Week menus, the server seemed to not know about it. After we showed him the website he apologized and gave us the menus. We ordered off the menu and a couple "upgrades". The upgraded appetizers were very good, carpaccio with brie and truffle and the crab cakes. The entree was fish and bison short ribs. The fish was okay, but nothing spectacular. The bison short ribs was good and a large portion, which I took 1/2 home. The desserts were napoleon, which was large, light and flaky, and bread pudding which was dense rich and almost too much to finish. Good overall, but not the first choice to return. to"

  • "I had Snapper and my wife had Filet. Among the best of each we've ever tasted! The chef truly understands the finest points of food prep and complimentary ingredients. Waiter even walked my wife, arm in arm, to the ladies room, after anticipating her needs. Incredible class. Music was awesome and ambience takes you back in time. Indescribable vbut you must experience for yourself."

  • "We booked a window table during Long Beach Restaurant Week. The view of LB Harbor, the coastline and Catalina is wonderful. The food, however, was the highlight of the evening. The bison short ribs are probably the best I've ever tasted - cooked to mouth watering perfection. The diver scallops were huge and also perfectly cooked. We chose bread pudding for desert. It was a bit on the heavy side but the huge blueberries on the side were excellent. The service also was top notch. We look forward to a return visit to the Sky Room in the very near future."

  • "You'd expect better service from a restaurant with this kind of reputation and prices the lack of management and leadership is evident the first minute you walk into this restaurant. Great view fair food had a nice waiter but gave us terrible service it was obvious he was overwhelmed with tables, through out the restaurant I only saw 2 servers did I mentioned one bartender didn't show due to the lack of communication ?. I spend $175 on a dinner for two I truly regret it. Come for the view and drinks don't expect much else well then again hopefully bartenders do show to work."

  • "This restaurant is one that the locals would prefer not to have others read about! They fill up fast! The menu gives great options for meats (Beef, lamb, pork), fowl (Duck and chicken) and seafood. The selection was very well prepared and the service was outstanding - - attentive without being intrusive. The drinks are exceptional and the deserts are killers!"

  • "the manager, staff, hosts were all very accommodating. I made a reservation 2 weeks in advance and left a note or comment to have the best seat in the house. they sure delivered! i had a day full of activities and plans to execute and this dinner, with a harbor view, was the icing on the cake. we were given a couples booth to sit and enjoy dinner. the staff was super nice, friend, and helpful. when i said staff i meant EVERYONE, your server is NOT the only person helping you but anyone and everyone working there will take your order, provide recommendations and help you decide whether you are comfortable or what you want to eat."

  • "The Sky Room is a great special occasion spot; the dining room is quiet enough to converse in a normal voice; night views are amazing; food is very good. The only irritation we experienced was that our waiter was mostly nowhere to be found. The sommelier was very attentive and they have a huge wine list. There are two eating sections: one is the room with the music and the dance floor and the other is quiet for dining. We could still hear the band which was ballroom dance music. The experience is of a classic restaurant - hard to find . We enjoyed ourselves very much. It's an historic building. You get background from the elevator operator on the way up. Parking is valet, the $10 public parking in the rear of the building or street."

  • "service was excellent!.. a little fancy for my taste, but i'm also a pretty mellow person so not into the super classy stuff. Great views! they had a jazz group playing good tunes... a little loud, but overall really nice! drinks were made to asking, and servers were quick to get our orders, and recommended a few plates since we had never been there before. i will go back. bar/club upstairs has better views, but its not sit down, just benches with 360 views. not huge. they had a dj playing."

  • "This was the first time dining at this restaurant for my wife and I and we could not have been more pleased. The restaurant is house on the 15th floor of a building originating in the 1920's. Though you see some of the aging in the hotel, once you enter the restaurant it's all top notch. Some have commented on the high price, but for the ambiance and the quality of food, I did not find it unreasonable. My wife loved her fish entrée and the steak I received paralleled that of Holdrens and Lucky's Restaurants from the Santa Barbara area...two of my favorites. On a side note, our server, Marty, was absolutely wonderful and we have already made reservations to be back in two weeks."

  • "Our dining experience was outstanding! The view was fantastic, the food was absolutely delicious, and the service impeccable. Good food and good service are my two mandatory requirements to return and I will definitely return to the Sky Room! I highly recommend the lamp chops."

  • "The Sky Room captures the feeling of the 40's with a real Art Deco vibe. The atmosphere is lively. We enjoyed the band and singer - very appropriate music. But, we thought that the menu offerings were not very creative. The servings were small. And, the prices high. We realize that they have to charge a little more to cover the entertainment but it still seemed high to us (and we dine out several times a week). It was fun to see but, since we live abut 45 minutes away, we would not bother to go back."

  • "This was our first time dining at the sky room but it wont be our last. We had the best experience with customer service. The food was great, and the wine was exquisite. Thanks sky room and staff for a great experience."

  • "the music was good but too loud when trying to have conversation. We enjoyed the evening."
    Dined on 3/14/2014
  • "My wife and I went here to celebrate her 40th birthday, and it was great. She loves swing music, and they had a band that night that played swing/big band music. The building is really old, built in the 1920's and the styling was art-deco, really cool. Also, it sits right by the harbor so on one side you see the city lights, the other side you see the harbor out to the ocean. The food was very good as well, probably a little less than what you'd expect for the quality, IMO. I think maybe it's because the lease is pretty low, considering the building's age? I dunno, but my wife and I had a great experience and will come back some time."

  • "If you like great food, service, a scenic view, live music, ballroom dancing, and want them all in the same location then this is your place. My wife and I visit here at least once a year on special occasions. When the band is playing its a bit loud for conversation but you'll soon find yourself out there on the dance floor so it won't matter as much as the night carries on. Enjoy!"

  • "I took my dad to dinner for his 88th birthday. He truly enjoyed the experience! He's been hospitalized for a while, so getting our of the rehab facility to go to a nice dinner was such a treat for both of us. Because he was in a wheelchair they couldn't give us a table next to a window, but we were able to arrive early and watch the sun set and the night lights giving the scenery a new look. I could tell it was his personal goal to finish all of his food and he really did a good job. Who wouldn't be tired of hospital food by now? Very nice experience, memorable night."

  • "We had relatives visiting from Germany so we went to the Sky Room for their last night in LA. What an incredible experience. The Art Deco decor takes you back to the glamour days. The views of Long Beach and the Harbor are amazing. Our waiter was phenomenal - a real character with expert service. The food was an epicurean delight - some of the finest we've had anywhere in LA. We had the duck breast, garlic shrimp, salads, miso black cod, filet - each dish was more delectable than the next - yum! The desserts were to die for = we shared the Napoleans - oh my pure heaven. This is a place ot to miss!!"

  • "We enjoyed our dinner on Saturday night, March 1st. The only problems we encountered was being overcharged for a bottle of wine. The wine list price was not the same on our bill. We also had a small problem with an appetizer that was returned but not taken off our bill. I would suggest diners look over their bill when paying. Otherwise a beautiful restaurant with mostly wonderful food."

  • "First trip to the Sky Room and I was not disappointed. Was there on a Saturday night, so they had a swing band playing. Made it difficult to have a conversation, but most people that go there do so for dinner and dancing. If you're looking for an intimate setting, I recommend you go elsewhere, or try the Sky Room on a different night. I was there for the music, so again, not disappointed. Food was good, but frankly I've had better meals. I all fairness to the Sky Room, I've had more than my fair share of exceptional meals. I had the bison short ribs, my boyfriend the filet mignon. While the ribs were good, the filet was far tastier. Drinks were good.Creme brulee delicious. Overall great experience. Killer views.. I'll be back!"
