  • "The Kitchen is a cool place to grab a drink and a bite to eat before seeing a show at the Sinclair. The service was excellent. Drinks were well made and tasty - I really enjoyed a blood orange sangria. The food was adequate. It's the kind of place where you might have a burger, but I guess they didn't get a delivery of burgers or something, so that wasn't an option. We had decent food and really enjoyed the energy and vibe in the place. Would recommend especially before seeing a concert."

  • "My husband and I went here for brunch this weekend. Clearly it is a night spot and should focus on that. Our waitress appeared extremely tired and though she recommended the pork belly benedict, when she brought it out there was no pork belly and said it was actually now a bacon benedict. My husband would have really appreciated being told that they were out of pork belly as he would have ordered something else. The egg sandwich was fine. The french toast sticks were huge and more like fried dough than anything else."

  • "I ordered the Kimcheesesteak from the "Entrees" section of the menu. I assumed this would be a sandwich, even though the description did not explicitly state that. When the dish came out, it was a massive portion of steak, bread, and French fries. I personally do not like fries, so would have chosen to substitute those if the menu had made any mention that fries would be served on the side. I barely ate a third of what was on the plate because it was such a big serving. It was such a waste of food and I don't understand why they make their serving sizes so large. It tasted good and I couldn't even save it because we were going to the concert downstairs. I think they should do a better job of letting people know what they are getting."

  • "While the service was good, the waiter let us hang out until the doors opened for the show, and the ambience was nice, the food was, at best, below average. We had the vegan tofu croquette which was a special that turned out to be anything but special. For our entrée we had the gnocchi, everything was just mushy and little to no flavor at all. Overall it was a very disappointing experience."

  • "If you are going to a show at the Sinclair--this is a great place to eat. No hassles, even found parking pretty quickly. Loved the menu and there was enough choices for vegetarians. Would choose this restaurant again."

  • "Nice vibe at the Sinclair; the food options were interesting and creative but weren't particularly phenomenal. Waiter tried to convince us that the bottle of wine that we had received was the bottle of wine that we had ordered (it wasn't). Other than that a fun and low-key place with an energetic hipster vibe. Fun place for weekend drinks."

  • "The food was ok--those dishes that weren't already 86ed for the night. The service was very slow. I don't feel like I got a great value. Being able to roll straight down to the concert though...that was great."

  • "I made a reservation for a friend's birthday through open table which was quick and easy to do. I definitely recommend making reservations because the place is usually crowded, and lines can get extremely long after 8:30 pm. Luckily the table they reserved for us was in its own little alcove, so the noise level was not a problem for us. In the open seating area, though, the noise can get rather loud. Our server was friendly, patient, and knowledgeable, no complaints about the service. The food was underwhelming, especially the gnocchi and the mac n cheese. I would recommend the kale salad though."

  • "Decided to go on a girl date with my best friend before seeing a concert. We just split a few of the things on the menu, and a bottle of wine. All the food was delicious, though the portions were smaller than expected. The only food I did not like was the dessert."

  • "Food and the concert as usual were wonderful. This is why I always come back. Oh, and the delicious cocktails. I did have an experience this time, however, that made me question my return with very hostile bouncers."

  • "I had the fish of the day, which was striped bass poached in squid ink. It was a succulent chunk of fish -- perfectly cooked. I cannot recall a better piece of fish -- it was moist but cooked through. Usually, to avoid dryness, I will ask for my fish to be done rare, but that was not needed here, with the poaching. The fish was accompanied by half a small head of romaine (I think...) that had been grilled, then dressed with pickled mussels. A terrific meal for $15. My only criticism would be the lack of any carbohydrates, but I did get a delicious roll when I asked (no butter, though -- but it sopped up the sauce nicely)."

  • "It's a great place with a vibrant nighttime atmosphere. The menu is interesting and affordable -- but I wish the food was better. My gumbo tasted more like a dry fried rice. Two of my companions ordered the kobe beef hot dog, but reported it just tasted like an ordinary sausage without much to it. Our appetizers were unremarkable -- except for the duck and waffles. That was superb. I would go back, because I really liked the scene. But I would go knowing that, frankly, the menu is what it is: better than average bar food."

  • "This was my third time dining at the Sinclair Kitchen. I have not yet found a dish that I didn't absolutely love. I've tried most of their small plates/snacks (they just changed the offerings recently), and I've also had their burger. Everything is seriously divine. Deviled eggs, olives, mac & cheese, sliders, tater tots. Cute, inventive, well-portioned dishes. My bf and I usually either split 4-5 plates, or have 2-3 plates and split a burger. They also have a fantastic cocktail menu, with in-house creations as well as old favorites. The service can be a little slow sometimes, but I actually enjoy not being rushed out the door, and we now know to leave a little extra time so we can get over to the concert venue (also awesome!) on time."

  • "The menu was so interesting and inspired but the execution of the food was just fair. The chef has clever ideas but needs to work on quality. The gnocchi were tiny and the edemame pesto wasn't very flavorful. The buffalo style cauliflower was lightly flash fried then doused with buffalo sauce....literally swimming in sauce. It could have been delicious but there was too much sauce. Food tasty but needs some finesse."

  • "We ate here with another couple in a Friday night. We were sat upstairs at a table next to the kitchen. The food was delicious. Both myself and a friend had the cheeseburgers, while the ladies had the steak. Everyone raved! We had the Disco Tots as an app, and they were a big hit! The mixed drinks could have been slightly stronger (that's what my wife said, anyways) but the beers were great. ;) We saw a concert following dinner. It was a good time!"

  • "Visited the Sinclair Kitchen prior to enjoying a show at the adjacent theatre which is an awesome live music venue. Not a huge menu, but interesting selections and a solid beer list at reasonable prices; particularly for Cambridge. The bonus is that if you're going to a show, you can pretty much cut the line if you enjoy dinner first."

  • "The service was pretty terrible. We finished our first drinks and waiting 40 minutes to even be asked if we would like another. That was disappointing since the wine we chose was specifically to be paired with the mussels we ordered. So the wine had to be enjoyed after the seafood. Our waitress seemed much more concerned about two other tables instead of ours and it felt as if we weren't very important to the staff for that reason. Other than that, the atmosphere was very nice, and most of the food was great. Though there were some freshness issues with regards to a few dishes, I think that was just luck of the draw though."

  • "We went to The Sinclair because we were seeing a show also at The Sinclair. We had a reservation ahead of time and were seated within a few minutes of arriving. Our server was super slow, but given it was a Saturday night, we understood. The drinks were amazing, strong, and really creative. We had questions about the ingredients and she was able to answer all of our questions. We ordered the naan, veggie burgers and a kale salad; we all loved our food. We also got 15% off because we were seeing a show afterwards, overall great experience!"

  • "This is my 4th time at Sincliar's, the 2nd time for dinner. All have been winners--the ambiance, the service, the drinks, the food. I loved my mussels and the naan flatbread with cauliflower and fried chickpeas. One friend had the spicy duck and loved that, too. Drinks as usual were topnotch--they mix a mean martini--must be the Vermouth; gotta find out their brand."

  • "We shared a few small plates - Brussels sprouts are a must, best I've ever had. Could have skipped the calamari. Split the gnocchi entree, superb. Nice space to spend some time. We had tickets to a show, and the waitress got us in the side door so that we didn't have to go outside and stand in line. Will definitely return. The bar downstairs seemed very inviting as well."

  • "The food was okay (although the macaroni was decadent), but they messed up a couple of our orders and screwed up the bill-splitting. I've heard enough good things that I would go back and try again, but the staff was so unpleasant at points that I'm not in a rush to do so."

  • "Have been to The Sinclair a bunch of times and always love everything. This weekend things were just off. We ordered a gnocchi dish that was so bland, as though not a grain of salt had been used in the dish. Even an amateur chef should have known this. They do basics well - best Brussels sprouts in town. Fried calamari is great. Salads always good. But this weekend, many things were not seasoned well and service was more lackluster than usual. Hope it was just an off night because it's a favorite spot of ours."

  • "Server was terrific, we went to dinner and then a concert at the Sinclair as we'll. excellent experience all around - except: apps came out before the bottle of wine/drinks, & queso dip was very watery/not creamy, but still had an awesome flavor. Will definitely be going back. Decor is very nice too, and the kitchen is on the top floor (a good thing for a restaurant in Harvard sq)"

  • "Don't get me wrong, usually I love Sinclair. But 4 of us went and, other than the brussel sprouts and mussels (which were incredible), everything else we had was not great: Friend chicken was dry and overcooked, the crab cassoulet was bland, the naan flatbread had tons of flour caked all over it, the jabanero wings were not at all spicy. In the past the food has been much better."

  • "We were seated promptly upon arrival. Waitress was very friendly and offered a great choice of drink; the Big Sky. The interiors are all the current restaurant trend of stripped industrial meets rough-worked wood finishes. We would definitely recommend the bar scene for good drink and crowd. Entree options are limited and the food we ordered was somewhat underwhelming. Standard singular option of each meat "group" and pasta. I ordered the Parisian gnocchi, which was quite bland and I had to ask for salt and pepper(not provided on the table). My wife had the spicy duck which was tender and cooked perfectly, but the habanero sauce was too spicy for the average person. Thankfully we ordered it on the side."

  • "We ate a meal of small plates before a show at the Sinclair club. Service was good and I liked the atmosphere upstairs. The food was tasty and creative. My only knock was the lack of solid veg options for my wife."

  • "Good food, reserved I'm the restaurant before attending a show, service not very good at all. Long periods between drinks. Ordered a second drink which didnt come until my entree was being served. Not till dinner was being served was I informed they ran out of what I ordered. late for show"

  • "Good food and a nice stop before heading to the ART. Small plates were interesting and tasty. Two of us shared the recommended brussels sprouts, which did not disappoint, the mac and cheese and the salt and pepper calamari. All nicely prepared. We then split the fried chicken, which was a bit bland, but the collard greens, charred corn and peppers added to the dish. Well worth a trip, but sit upstairs if you want a quieter experience. Downstairs is more bustling and fun if with a crowd."

  • "We had reservations for four at 7pm on a Saturday night. At that hour, the vibe was very mellow, but by the time we left at 9pm, we could barely hear ourselves think. Just something to keep in mind. I'm sure weeknights are probably less raucous. The food was fantastic, though! I will definitely go eat there again."

  • "We went Saturday eve for the first time. Got drinks and a bunch of appetizers. We were seated upstairs which was surprisingly lacking in atmosphere. The bar area is where I would go next time. No music playing?! We ordered drinks and a bunch of apps at the same time and the drinks took 20 minutes to come. Our waitress was a bit hard to flag down and she didn't seem too concerned or apologetic that our drinks took so long. They actually came AFTER our food. Some of the food was good (the special appetizer Duck and Waffles was surprisingly good), other items like the shrimp and grits was over salted and not special. The menu sounded more interesting than the food tasted. Not sure I'll return. It wasn't terrible, but not good enough"

  • "The Sinclair is located close to the A.R.T. It has a pleasant ambience and good, affordable food (more than one can say for several other nearby restaurants)."

  • "The food was good. I had a delicious salad and the burger was great. The service was slow and we w were not offered drinks at anytime unless we asked or flagged down our waitress. Convenient and good to eat at before a show but don't expect fine dining or date night experience."

  • "We really liked the Sinclair. Urban feel, comfortable, great food. We had appetizers - brussel sprouts (fantastic) and deviled eggs (fine but nothing special). Two in our party had artic char with spaghetti squash which was amazing, one person had crab cakes and one had the gnocci. Everyone was happy. Nothing special on desserts so skipped them. Also, the size of the portions were very good - not too large. The focus was on the quality."

  • "The food lacked cohesion, was overly spicy, so much so that you could not enjoy the glass of white wine and the overall scene was lacking in vibrancy and personality."

  • "our seats had a draft from a window and by the end of the meal my girlfriend and I had our coats on. The food was tasty and the drinks we're really good. The Brussels were some of the best I've had. They were out of 4 different things on the menu including two entrees (The fish option and the Duck) as well as the pickles. When ordering a bunch of small dishes our mushroom snack never came so we had the server take it off the check, when i asked her about it she looked at me with a blank stare. Overall I enjoyed the food and ambiance but out server was lacking in several areas. I would definitely go back and make sure I got someone else."

  • "I probably won't go back. When you have bad service, the food better be worth it and it wasn't. We sat at our table for 10 minutes before a waiter came over. We waited 25 minutes on our drinks and in the end the appetizers ended up arriving before the drinks did. Our drinks made it just before the dinners came out. We then waited forever on the check. Basically, we spent most of our time in the restaurant with only water, waiting on a server to come over. All in all, it was a bad experience. The food was good, but worth suffering through the horrible service."
