  • "WOW. This place just makes you feel like royalty from start to finish. You enter on an "exclusive" red carpet elevator (there really was an actual red carpet in front of the elevator) and as soon as you get to the top you're welcomed by the sounds of happy diners and live piano music. The view is incredible - we had an earlier reservation so it was still light enough for us to see all the way to Diamond Head and out to the ocean, but I imagine after sunset you'd get a gorgeous view of the Waikiki city lights. Calamari, filet mignon, truffle mashed potatoes, lobster mac & cheese and creamed corn were all to die for. We can't wait to come back again!!"

  • "Seafood Tower was outstanding and a good value. Whole Maine lobster with claws, scallops, oysters, large prawns, with mignonette and cocktail sauces. Asked for melted butter. Wine list is overpriced, even for a high-end restaurant, and wines by the glass were often less expensive than a bottle of the same wine. Killer view, excellent service, consistently excellent food. Restaurant is too cold, bring a sweater or jacket. Piano Bar with a really talented pianist made the evening special."

  • "My wife and I usually go to Ruths Chris for steak, but a friend recommended this restaurant and we decided to try it out. As the title states, it was better than we expected Pros: -The live piano music is great! It added an extra classiness to the restaurant that the other steakhouses on the islands lack. -Ken, the maitre d, was excellent. -The cocktails were strong, but tasty! -My wife loved the pork chop. It was perfectly crispy on the outside and succulent on the inside. -The vanilla and chocolate bread pudding was fantastic. Better than the signature bread pudding at Ruths Chris. -Creamed corn was amazing. Cons: -My bone-in ribeye was a little too salty for my taste. -The view is nice, but no great ocean view."

  • "My dinner consisted of the Prime Filet Mingon (8oz) cooked perfectly medium rare for me, lobster mac n cheese, truffle mashed potatoes, and for dessert the Island sorbet. The filet was so tender, juicy, seasoned perfectly, and just really delicious; it came with the truffle mashed potatoes. I've had lobster mac n cheese before at Gordon Bierch, it's good, but it couldn't compare to this one since it had bacon and bread crumbs as well. Finally the island sorbet, it was an ok dessert, I was hoping for multiple flavor of sorbets instead of just mango, but still it was so good that when you take a spoonful in your mouth it literally melts to the touch of your tongue. So all in all it was a great experience that I might one day go again."

  • "1) Situated next to a party of 13. One diner on that table extremely loud. Felt like at a concert. Had to cover one side of ear! I believe it is the restaurants responsibility to ask diners to lower their voice so other patrons can have a nice experience to converse at their table and enjoy the view too. 2) Waiter pleasant but clumsy. 3) Food did not come out correctly - rare lamb 4) AC too cold very uncomfortable. Felt like 65 degrees 5) Manager only one who accommodated our request to increase the room temp by a few degrees; attempted to correct our lamb dish 2x, then eventually allowed us to order something else and replaced "cold" side dishes."

  • "Great restaurant with great views. We went with a group of 6. Overall the food was good. Ribeye was good! Butterfish is also good! Crab cakes shrunk. Lobster mac and cheese had a very fishy taste that the guests did not enjoy. Truffle mash potato was okay. Best dessert was the key lime. Chocolate souffle was extremely sweet. Service was lacking. Our main waiter was never around. Very inattentive. He seemed overwhelmed and distracted. The water boy was excellent and much more attentive."

Food is fantastic although the chef tends to undercook the steaks so if you normally like medium rare you need to order it medium. Other than that the steaks practically melt in your mouth. Bone in rib-eye is our favorite. Views cannot be beat. Spectacular!"

The sourdough bread basket was good, and my small complaint about the wine, that might have been wrong, was swiftly fixed with no fuzz.   • "We were not welcomed or greeted by anyone for a few minutes. Once seated, our waiter, Matthew, took our drink orders. My son who was celebrating his birthday ordered a beer and was informed that this brand was not available. My son made another selection. Matthew went to the bar and returned and said that the last bottle of this particular beer was just served. Very disappointing to say the least. These first 2 occurrences gave a negative initial impression of what was to come. However, aside from the steak seasoning being slightly salty, everything that followed was great. This included the quality and quantity of the food, the service, the ambience. The sunset special was a good deal and one I would return for."

  • "The food was great! Porterhouse was perfect and tender. They were out of the bone-in ribeye, but my br-in-law, had the boneless and he thoroughly enjoyed it. Sis-in-law had the miso butterfish, and said it was tasty, tender, and generous. Hubby had the crab legs, and told me it was the best in Hawaii. Seemed to be seasoned with garlic, etc, before or while steaming. The view was spectacular, the seating was spacious (Hy's you're packed in). The piano bar makes it very romantic, too. You can actually have a conversation and hear each other without others hearing you too! The service was excellent--from the hostess, busboys, waiter and maître-de. Maybe was not too busy (Sunday nite), but we sure felt special."

The appetizers are good but are small portions if you have an appetite. But perfect sized for us. More room for that 16 oz. Steak that is oh so tasty & tender (we ordered it cooked medium)!!! If you haven't eaten there, GO! Reserve the ocean side for a view of the great Hawaiian sun setting. Live piano music is perfect. Not to noisy."

  • "This amazing restaurant on the 36th floor of the Ala Moana hotel is outstanding. Given the hotel experience, we weren't expecting much. Boy, were we surprised! The view is grand, there's no denying that. The piano player is good and that adds a nice vibe to the experience. The food was out of this world good! Steaks were sizzling hot, side dishes (asparagus, mushrooms, and potatoes) were cooked to perfection. The bread and salads were equally enjoyable. If you are looking for a great steak and enjoy the added bonus of a great view, this is your place. If I lived here, I would be here frequently."

  • "We made reservations for a Wed night dinner. The hostess at the front was very nice & made mention a happy birthday to my bf since I had specified it on the (open table phone app). We ordered oysters on the half shell as appetizers and the shrimp cocktail which were both very good and fresh. I ordered the lamb which was cooked pretty well to my medium well request, but my boyfriend's pork chop we didn't enjoy so much. For the price, I believe, was over $35, it was not very tasty. The portion size was quite sizable but it lacked in seasoning and was a little dry. I ordered a cocktail but asked to send it back. The waiter was nice & removed it from the total. The view was beautiful & a piano player for the majority of the night. It was ok."

  • "Signature Steakhouse generated buzz among my foodie friends when it first opened, so I admittedly felt left out when they had chances to try it out way before me. Needless to say, I was eagerly anticipating my first try there for my mom's birthday. The restaurant atmosphere whisked me away from the usual steakhouse decor of popular places on island. The view made for a relaxing backdrop as well. The service was all friendly and prompt. Absolutely no qualms there. Admittedly, I am not much of a steak eater, so I went with the salmon which was prepared just the way I wanted it; sauteed in a lemon caper sauce. I loved it."
