First time here and we were blown away at first by the ambiance and then the excellent service followed by wonderfully presented and prepared food. The menu, although limited, is not so when you think about it. The restaurant menu is what's available that day (or week) for that matter and is carefully crafted to coax out the interplay of flavors. We were pleasantly surprised by some of the staples. The locally sourced mashed sweet potato was an unexpected surprise. When the chef came by to ask us about dinner we raved and questioned what was in the sweet potato he commented nothing but the potato itself. The amazing flavor is unlike any previous experience. The vegetables are local as well as the main courses. We opted for the monkfish and scallop entrees. Both were delicious and better than expected. The wine list is vast and the selection is well-thought. There's something for any discerning palette. Can't say enough about this place and as this was our first visit we plan to visit more often. Our only regret is "why haven't we been there sooner"!

Fantastic food and service! Delicious fresh baked bread. We had the steak and eggs. The steak was very tender and the eggs were fresh from a local farm. You rarely find farm fresh anything these days. The staff was very attentive to our needs. We were offered coffee and drink refills through out the meal. All in all a fantastic experience. Be sure to enjoy the roaring fireplace in the lobby while your there!...and the toffee pudding.

The service was very poor we all ordered tea the server never came back to refill pots or water. The brunch egg menu way to salty. Hamburger was very good. We observed other servers and was not pleased. We were quite surprised as we have been here before for lunch and dinner. We brought our clients here for brunch.

my best friend and I were up in Hawley for a spa weekend and had dinner there on Sat. Wow, the service was fast, courteous and helpful. The food was so yummy! I had the onion soup made with local swiss and I loved the the contrast of the sweet onions with the slight sharpness of the cheese. I also had the veal shank! Veal is very difficult to cook as it could get dry fast...not only did the meat fall off the bone but it was so juicy and filled with flavor.

We stayed at their sister property (The Ledges) and had always wanted to dine at The Settlers Inn. Other than the room itself being slightly noisy (the acoustics, not the guests) EVERYTHING was perfect. Firstly, they decorated their lobby with several pumpkins that were all lit up to bring that Harvest vibe. We loved the craftsmen style decor and place settings. It seemed strange to us that there appeared to be just one waiter. We shared the French Onion soup and the Pork Belly appetizers. Entrees were the Petite Filet and Scallops, too full for dessert but would not change a thing. Great restaurant and place to stay. We even enjoyed post dinner cocktails with Bart the bartender which helped to top off our evening in style.

After coming to this part of the Poconos for almost 10 years, and passing this beautiful inn over an over again, we finally made reservations for dinner. It was lovely, the inn decorated with beautiful carved pumpkins, and the lighting on the wood and stained-glass in the dining room, sitting room and bar made it seem like the rooms were glowing. The service was perfect, and we loved the pianist serenading the dining room. His choices were witty and fun, and beautifully played. Oh, and the food was fabulous!

We went with friends to their Storytelling dinner. While the atmosphere was good, the Inn seemed remarkably short-staffed and it was a very long time to order off a set menu, and a very long time between courses and we had to ask for bread after about 30 min. When the food did arrive it was good, but not to the standard I have experienced at the Inn before. Lastly, the stories that were told were stupid to say the least, nor were they entertaining at all. However, the carved pumpkins around the dining room were very well done and interesting.

This is a farm-to-table restaurant with great food. We had breakfast twice and dinner once during a weekend stay. The dining room is large and pleasant with good service. My wife and I dined at the Sertlers to celebrate a special occasion with my 86 year old father who was visiting from England. The service and food were quite exceptional from the time we arrived and everyone was very satisfied with dinner. Our visitors had come over from England on the Queen Mary II so Settlers had 6 days of Cunard's legendary dining to compete with and they did it very well. The only slight negative was that we dined at 7:30 on a Saturday and the noise level was quite high so it was difficult for the older people to hear. Thank you for a great meal - the scallops were amazing. Well done.

Once a year in the fall we make it a point to dine at this restaurant. A limited but well balanced menu and a very nice wine list. The food and service has always been outstanding. In addition, the most talented lounge piano player I have ever heard didn't take one break in the four hours we were there (arrived early for pre dinner cocktails)....

This might be the best place I've found in NEPA. The wine list was impressive with a good range to fit any budget. The food choices where unique, although limited for the main course. Everything was cooked just right. The desserts selection fit everyone at the table. I had the English toffee pudding which was delicious. I would go back again for a special occasion or if I had a friend visiting from out of town.

My wife and I have enjoyed the Settlers ambiance and cuisine for years. This time around was special in that we brought along our two children. We appreciate the restaurant's commitment to sourcing locally made items for the menu. The quality of the cooking is notable, and we feel good about making our children aware of this farm-to-table type of connection with such distinction and quality. This was a most pleasant family outing.

Love this restaurant and was not disappointed in the food. We checked in promptly at 7:30 and was told it would be a moment as our table was being cleared. We waited probably about 15 minutes and the host never came to look for us. One of the people in our party checked again and we were lead to our table which unfortunately was under the air conditioner. Remind me next time not to sit there. It was blowing on us. Service was a little slow but noticed there were several large parties (which also added to the noise level). I had the salad with figs and the eggplant as the entree. Both were to die for! My husband had the same salad and the salmon which was delectable! My friends had the chicken and salmon. All was fabulous.

Settler's has continued to provide consistently excellent food, superb service, and a very quiet relaxing atmosphere for a great dinner. Their wait staff is so skilled and so well adept at being there for your every need but not to the point of being obtrusive. Seasonal changes in menu are enough reason to go back at least once a quarter to see what the chef has created out of the local fare, mostly all organic and very imaginative. And it works!

No doubt the Settler's Inn is the best spot for fine dining in the town of Hawley and its environs. In one dinner experience the wait staff could have been more attentive (so we waited--and waited), but other times, for breakfast, it was quite good. The menu of dishes, wines and beers was excellent, and the arts-and-crafts dining room provided a nice ambience. Our meals were delicious.
