  • "Settler's Inn has become our favorite restaurant when we are in the area. Delightful presentation of food, attentive, friendly waitstaff and the food is the best. We'll be back!"

  • "Excellent quality and presentation of food served here. Every component part of the meal was outstanding - appetizer, entree, side dishes and desserts. Chef is quite creative and, obviously takes pride in everything that leaves the kitchen. Exceptionally large wine list and after dinner drink list. Service was impeccable. On the way out we already made another reservation."

  • "This was a first experience for two of the couples at our table and it could not have been better. The Settlers Inn is a fine dining experience one would not expect to find in this little town. The almond encrusted grouper was outstanding and the steak was done to perfection. There was a very impressive array of reasonably priced wine."

  • "My wife and I recently celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary at The Settlers Inn. I had reserved a table on Open Table and ordered flowers to be put on our table as well. I called ahead to let them know about the flower delivery. When we arrived, we were seated at a window table, flowers in place. They were very beautiful by the way. We were greeted with complimentary glasses of champagne. Dinner was superb, as it always is. The atmosphere is warm and the piano player adds a touch of class."

  • "We came to Have dinner July 25th and then on August 8th this year. both evenings were quiet celebrations, but the Settlers was the perfect place to celebrate. We've been to the Settlers many times, but usually in the winter. We had intended to eat outside, but because the pianist was playing in the dining room we decided to remain inside. Even though we forfeited the lovely garden setting, the music more than made up for it. Our guests loved everything about our evening. My husband is a fish-lover and so was very pleased with the Grouper. He's so fussy and said that the fish was cooked perfectly. All of the dishes were excellent. We will definitely return before Fall claims the garden."

  • "Went to the Settlers Inn for dinner last weekend, after not being there for many years , it did not disappoint. It is a beautiful place , an older home turned into a bed n breakfast , built in 1920 I believe . Spacious large room that spills into a bar area (small) and a large fireplace. You can hang and play chess, or have a glass of wine from their great wine list . Food was delicious as they change their menu most seasons. Had the petit filet mignon (4 on plate) and the scallops, both cooked to perfection. Waitress was attentive and courteous . Would definitely recommend ."

  • "Food was great as was the decor; table service was OK; bartenders were overworked which equates to slow. The place is far too noisy for any restaurant, let alone one on the pricy side."
    Dined on 7/26/2014
  • "This was our first time to this restaurant and we were blown away by the great service and food. Apparently they menu changes monthly so I can't wait to go back next month. The restaurant is 5 minutes down the street And with the location we definetely will go back"

  • "Poor service, noise deafening. Grouper was ok. Scallops were so salty throughout, almost in edible, but I was hungry from the long wait. They did takes them off the bill. Trout salas barely had any trout. Not really a positive experience. Maybe lunch would be good."

  • "I have been here many times, mostly winter. Took my wife there recently for a birthday dinner. Food was superb as we'll as the service. Beautiful gardens. Couldn't have been better."

  • "Normally I would have given this place a better rating but I can't compared to the Posh Club we ate in the next day. The nicest part of the evening was the piano player and the wine. He was great! Food was good but not great and it really should be. We ate here about 20 years ago and it seemed to be better. There used to be a dess code but now some of the people are dressed nicely and others like slobs. If you want a high caliber restaurant you can't have people dressed in tee shirts and jeans and others in jackets. That's up to the restaurant. Not going back anytime soon."

  • "We stopped in here while o a trip to Pennsylvania . The food was fresh. The wine tasting was very good- a taste of 3 wines . I hadn't eggplant entree that was delicious and my hubby had the filet mignon which he enjoyed greatly. The service was prompt and courteous . The decor was wonderful- arts and crafts . This was a wonderful dining experience ."

  • "Thoroughly enjoyed dinner. Food was served/presented beautifully and aesthetically. Food selections were artful as were the combinations and types of food together, such as chopped salad with chèvre mousse - delightful as was the zucchini lavender soup! There were a few glitches with the beer served, but server responded admirably. It appeared the server was very busy; however that did not detract from his seemingly genuine attention. Very much appreciate, value, and applaud the use of food from local farmers and artisan cheese makers, etc. Have been going to the Settlers Inn over a span of 20 years; this visit was the best and I can definitely see an overall finesse in their attention to detail, distinction, and fine dining."

  • " Upon entering this beautifully appointed historic inn and restaurant, We were immediately seated and our server, Peggy, gave us time to peruse the menu while she offered her suggestions. The chef uses local sources for the meats, fish, veggies, and cheeses, to name a few items. This adds to the selections on the menu where the mains were titled Earth, Water, Wind, and Fire. We selected the chicken with mango papaya slaw and the petite filet mignons with sauce beurre rouge 34. Both entrees were presented beautifully and tasted divinely, as they were cooked to perfection. Our anniversary was made even more special, as we dined on the covered deck, when Peggy served us complimentary glasses of champagne! Dessert? English Toffee Pudding! Yum"

  • "We enjoyed a great dinner on the covered terrace. The chopped salad and baked onion soup were delicious. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly. We shared a delicious peanut butter mousse for dessert. Fantastic service, Great view of the gardens, all in all a perfect dining experience."

  • "I had their seasonal chicken dish and an Ahi Tuna appetizer. I've never raved about chicken in my life until the other night. Just simply fantastic."

  • "I've been going to Settlers for years on my annual trip to the Poconos for visiting day weekend. When we started (about 5 years ago) it was a great restaurant. I've become increasingly less satisfied with the experience. The menu is limited and, generally, pretty pedestrian. The food leans toward too salty and the bread, which used to be fantastic, is now just blah. Unfortunately there aren't a whole lot of options in the area for a civilized dining experience."

  • "It was our first dinner at the Settler's Inn and we enjoyed our experience from our appetizers to dessert. My husband ordered the special for the day and I had one of the few menu choices. Our server was friendly as was all of the staff and we didn't wait or want for attention. If I had one comment regarding the menu choices is that there was very few to choose from--- One Vegetarian, two fish/seafood, one poultry and one red meat + any specials."

  • "We have dined at the Settler's Inn 4 times now and have never been disappointed. This was the first time for the summer menu and were a little surprised it had an Asian flair. Our other experiences were with Autumn menus. Excellent."

  • "We had visited this restaurant while in PA many years ago and decided to make the trip again, despite the 65 mile trip from NY. It was well worth it. The food, wine and service were all fantastic and the piano player made for very enjoyable evening. Their menu, with farm to table selections, was appealing to any taste and the food was fresh and well presented. Our server was friendly, knowlegeable and we weren't rushed at all. I highly recommend this rare find of a restaurant."

  • "The setting is beautifully restored in the arts and crafts style of the original period, and was the backdrop for a lovely evening. We were greeted by everyone involved in service in a very friendly manner, and they were all eager to help and share their expertise. Peggy, our waitress, was so warm and personable, and the sommelier introduced us to a flight of wonderful white wines which included a fabulous Guigal Hermitage. The food was mostly excellent, and Peggy was very inquiring/receptive to feedback on how to make it even better, claiming that the chef wanted to know what the customers thought. The evening ended delightfully because the bus-boy told us about the fantastic 4th of July fireworks in Hawley which were indeed that."

  • "The quality of the dining experience at Settlers has been consistently excellent over the years. The physical space is charming – enhanced by a very attentive wait-service and a pianist with a delightful repertoire. The onion soup, a favorite of mine, is particularly tasty. If paired only with the Settlers breads, I would leave feeling sated. (I miss the banana bread of days gone by.) The grouper I had for an entree was delicious as were the snow peas which were tastefully crunchy. The folks I dined with were equally satisfied with their choices. Thank you Settlers. We are already looking forward to our next visit."
