  • "I have enjoyed Braised Lamb Shanks in the past at other restaurants. This Braised Lamb Shank was the best of all with fantastic deep complex flavors."

  • "Lovely meal. Curried scallops appetizer, salad, filet mignon, trout, creme brulee. Every bite was exquisite. The service was impeccable and wanting for nothing. Settler's Inn was a wonderful place to celebrate my birthday."

  • "Food was excellent, it is not cheap but you get what you pay for - I Ordered the fillet mignon and three pieces were on my plate! Wait staff was good and the food was hot off the grill/stove just the way it should be!"

  • "The Settlers Inn has never disappointed us! We have a second home in Tafton and always look forward to our special night out at your restaurant. Saturday night was no exception. We were celebrating a birthday and started with the carrot ginger soup, the blood orange and beet salad......delicious! Three of us had the petite filets, and one had the rib eye. My son in law said it was the best rib eye he ever had! We also had the english pudding with carmel sauce and whipped cream.... To die for! We had that when we came for New years Eve this past Dec. 31st. What we love about this restaurant...the food is always fresh, we love the farm to table way of cooking. We try items here that we would never think we would like and Always do."

  • "I have been eating at Settlers since 1982 - 33 years. I go back to the days of the Hoozier cabinet in the lobby that was filled with tubs of cheese and meats to "nosh" on while you enjoyed a drink in front of the fireplace. The menu and service have always been excellent. I have attended many of the specialty dinners. Saturday night I was disappointed. The menu was very limited - creative, but not a variety of choices. The food itself ( trout and Bolognese) was only good, not the great that it used to be. Although there were many serving people walking around , the service was barely attentive. Settlers was always my favorite place to go to - not so after this last experience."

  • "Great meal, great atmosphere. An excellent wine and beer list. Food from local farms. We try to go to The Settlers Inn restaurant a couple times a year. Highly recommend it for a nice romantic dinner."

  • "Following a weekend of lousy food at a nearby resort, we found the Settlers In online and decided to stop there for brunch before heading home. We were FLOORED by the food -- the brisket on my brisket sandwich just barely held onto the fork and crumbled as soon as I got it in my mouth. Perfectly done, not TOO smoky, in a nice, subtle sauce with a mellow jalapeño aioli. My wife's turkey + provolone sandwich was tender and juicy, and we shared the pumpkin spice waffles and a homemade cinnamon roll -- all of it just fantastic. Cannot say enough good things. THAT BRISKET.... *sigh*"

  • "My husband and I thoroughly enjoy having our anniversary dinner here every year!! We always feel special and the food is always exquisite!! The atmosphere is comfortable and the wait staff is amazing. I love the piano player! We always get every course, even though we know we will be overstuffed when we leave because we don't want to miss out on a flavor!! I wouldn't go anywhere else for my anniversary."

  • "A very impressive ambiance but second to the food! I had melt in your mouth lamb. Presentation was as delectable as the meal! Wait staff was very attentive without being in your face. Live piano music added just the right notes...no pun intended! I highly recommend the restaurant!"

  • "We drive from NJ to the Settlers' Inn 3-4 times a year for Sunday brunch. It is a lovely arts/craftsstyle inn with a spacious diningroom, welcoming staff, and delicious food. The menu changes with the seasons and is creative. Every time we have visited the Settlers' Inn, we have left well-fed and content. In the winter, the fireplace is warm and inviting, In the summer, brunch is served outside on the veranda overlooking the beautiful gardens. The tables are well-situated and not crowded, and the waitstaff is friendly and attentive. We like the birdseed bread served with soft butter."

  • "Its been 2 months since I had the meal. I still remember the choices and the service as being outstanding. They also have a very comprehensive beer list with some excellent choices. I was staying there so I had breakfast the next day which was also a hit. I would eat there more often but unfortunately the Inn is 60 miles from my home. I highly recommend it."

  • "The woodloch pines area of the poconos isn't exactly known for its fine dining so we were very pleased when we found the settlers inn. Good American fare at a reasonable price."

  • "Four of us went befor the night of New Years and there ready limited menu had half the item available at 815 pm. The food we did receive was mediocre at best. It was either to salty, overlooked, overcompensated with other ingredients etc.. Our bill was over 300 which I wouldn't mind paying if the good was half decent! Being a foodie raised and from NYC this place was an absolute joke and complete waste of money. For someone who never cooks I could've made better food."

  • "We went to the Settler's Inn for brunch during the Winterfest. The restaurant was beautifully decorated with Christmas decorations and a grand Christmas tree. The food was fantastic. We had a prefix which included many options. We perticularly enjoyed the maple glazed bacon. Yummy! Will definitely come back for a special occasion."

  • "Even on Saturday night - suggest you go early as they roll up the carpets by 9 PM !! If you are looking for a 8 - 9 PM reservation, forget it as the piano entertainment will be done and the dinning room will begin set up for the next day. Disturbed our dinner and ambiance gone at that point. Not a late evening restaurant; food is excellent however."

  • "The Settlers Inn never disappoints. If you are looking for a fine dining experience you can't go wrong at the Settlers. The food is fantastic and they try and use local farm raised produce and animals. The atmosphere is beautiful. They had a piano player who was creative and lots of fun to listen to. The wine list is second to none. We were here for Thanksgiving and the meal was perfect. We have been many times and the menu is always great. I highly recommend a visit!"

  • "We loved both staying at and dining at settlers. It lived up to its reputation. Especially good are its bread, and it's safe rubbed chicken. So good that we ended up eating it again on Sunday after first having it on Friday. Definitely a memorable weekend (we got engaged this weekend!) and great meal to help make it a fantastic weekend."

  • "Food was great! My only complaint is that the reservation was for 7pm and we weren't seated until 7:45. Loved the atmosphere and the service was great too!"

  • "I am a frequent diner at the Settler's and love it. This past Saturday though, their usual reliable "par for the course" of exceptional dining hiccupped a bit on the service/ambiance level. Service staff appeared overwhelmed, I'm not sure if they were short-handed or the kitchen was slow. The big issue was the piano player, ouch, ruined our meal. Played such great dining tunes like the theme's to Batman, Gilligan's Island and others, a spirited rendition of Wipeout, that had people playing it on their tabletops, and even some rock n roll where singing along was encouraged. While song selection was not consistent with the dining experience, the biggest issue was his noise level, not background but too loud to even talk over."

  • "This historic place looked more like something you'd find in the west than in the Pocono's, but it is charming with chunky wooden chairs and tables covered with a bamboo mat. The menu is filled with seasonal favorites combined in creative ways. Service was attentive without being rushed or overdone. I thought it was a romantic atmosphere, although the couple next to us were reading their Kindles during dinner! Go figure. It's a little pricey, but great for a vacation splurge or a special occasion. Nice wine list too."

  • "We enjoyed our dinner at the Settler's Inn. The food was excellent and the service was great. The only complaint would be the noise level. The restaurant had a romantic feel that was ruined by the fact that we had to shout to hear each other. I would recommend this restaurant to friends a family.......just on a slower night with less noise."
