Diner Reviews
  • "My boyfriend and I made a reservation for restaurant week , when we got there hosttes was not very welcomy, we sat at the corner where most of the couples sit, the place it self look very nice , unfortunately service was not the best, the server took a long time to approach to our table , we order the restaurant week menu and we added a Bottle of wine and some oyster , for our appetizer we order the sushi roll and the ceviche , when the appetizer arrive to the table we got everything except the soy souce for the sushi and the ceviche need it a little more flavor . After all we were trying to make the best of our date night and Try not to complain, but our fellow dinners that were sitting in the same section decide to get up and complain ."

  • "We look forward to Restaurant Week and always return to The Sea Grill. As usual there was some wonderful food: we were offered a great amuse bouche, and the first course, flash fried rock shrimp ramen noodle salad, was memorable. We remarked that this was satisfyinhg enough to be our entire meal, and for a while it seemed as if it would be: nothing else was brought to our table for 50 minutes. Empty water glasses and drink glasses and the amuse bouche plate sat and sat as servers and busboys breezed past. Eventually we were served a complete meal but it took a very long time. Curious: in the past we've had excellent service."

  • "I visited this place with my coworkers for restaurant week experience and the food was good, the atmosphere was cozy and nice. But our waiter had some problems. He was a bit rude to us and when I asked something, his attitude was like "I told you before" What. Is there a problem when a customer asks something once again and repeat it as a waiter? That waiter was terrible for service job. I don't want to go back to this place because of him."

  • "This was my first time at The Sea Grill and it was wonderful. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. The place is beautiful, the service was excellent & the food was amazing!! I advise everyone to try the flash fried rock shrimp and ramen noodle salad, as well as the suckling pig confit!! Delicious does not begin to describe it!!"

  • "Had a lovely summer lunch at this restaurant, which is conveniently located in Rockefeller Center. Beautiful outdoor seating. Great service and perfectly prepared food. Also, bottles of wine are 1/2 price on Saturdays during the summer."

  • "The Sea Grill is among the top seafood restaurants in NY and is in one the most special settings. The ambiance is also very appealing and low key and the service exceptional. The wonder is that more New Yorkers don't flock here - it is not the tourist spot some may fear. I come here as often as I can."

  • "We were celebrating a friend's retirement with a dinner and chose the Sea Grill. What a wonderful time we had! Our waitress was delightful, the food was delicious and the whole evening was terrific! The extra touches (tasting spoons with the appetizers and bite-size sweets with dessert)were the icing on the cake! It was truly an evening to remember!"

  • "I was in NY for the weekend and was looking for something close to the theater district. This is right in Rockefeller plaza, and we dined outside, which was beautifully set up in Aqua and white. Our waiter was fun and suggested a wonderful wine. We has the lobster pre fixe menu for $55 a person and the lobster pot pie was so delicious and memorable. I will absolutely come back next time I am in town."

  • "The Sea Grill is one of my favorite special occasion restaurants. We dined here before attending the theater for our anniversary. Our waiter could not have been nicer. The fish was fresh and beautifully presented. We were surprised by a special anniversary dessert. We will go back again and again."

  • "We were so very pleased with The Sea Griill restaurant after almost a 20 year span of time from our last visit. Everything from ambience, waitstaff and menu were perfection for our dinner experience. Completely changed from what we had remembered. Knowledgable waitstaff, extraordinary chef beautiful interior, and the freshest fish, plated and served without fanfare- just pure simplicity, on a pristeen canvass. We enjoyed and devoured every morsel from start to finish. Do have a meal here today if you can and ASAP also. We can't wait to go back-"

  • "With sea foam green tones and moderate noise level it is a cool respite among the chaos in Rockefeller Center. But it looks out on the plaza and you feel you're a part of the energy without the assault that goes with it. Lovely location. Food and service we very good. Of course it's all about the seafood. Pricey like all midtown eateries but relative to the others fair value."

  • "Food was very disappointing. Crab cakes had more breadcrumbs than crab, also not warm. Seafood chowder not warm enough, lacked seasoning so was very bland. Spinach looked old and tired. Carmelised Fig dessert tasted old, cold and unappetizing. Only bright spot was attentive server. Will NEVER return. First visit in 10 years. Used to love this place. Tremendously expensive, I felt ripped-off!!! Totally spoiled a 35 th Anniversary celebration of my sister/ husband who were visiting from Scotland."

  • "I took my sisters to The Sea Grill Friday night, which was a first for them. The restaurant did a terrific job in making it a special evening with its usual attentive service. All of our appetizers and entrees were delicious. One of my sisters only eats vegetables and the entree that was prepared was both beautiful in presentation and perfect for her tastes. The Spicy Tuna roll was a great starter and the Arctic Char was poached to perfection. While the ambiance is probably best with the winter rink activity in the shadow of the Christmas Tree, the restaurant also has a festive feeling with the summer outdoor seating. The prices are not cheap, but the Sea Grill provides a quintessential New York evening for both tourists and residents."

  • "This is our "go to" dinner restaurant when we visit the city. Rockefeller Center is a tourist destination but The Sea Grill doesn't seem like a tourist restaurant. It has a refined graceful ambiance. Although in the Winter months it is fun to be entertained by the skaters. The food is always consistently good as is the service. We have never been disappointed."

Varied menu with an interesting selection and well prepared. Good drinks and wine selection. Overall a very pleasant and welcoming atmosphere."

  • "When in New York, do as the tourists do-- watch the ice skaters at Rockefeller Center! We were able to do just that but seated at a table enjoying the Sea Grill's delicious crab cakes, asparagus salad, and key lime pie! No one rushed us through the dinner and we were able to linger over coffee to watch the Zamboni clean the ice. "

  • "The Sea Grill located in Rockefeller Center is a fine dining restaurant featuring fish including sushi. It is built around the famous ice skating rink. We ordered the seafood platter as an appetizer for the table and it was fantastic. It included lobster, shrimp, oysters, clams, ceviche and crab. My salmon was cooked to perfection and the service was perfect. Highly recommend."

  • "Easter at the Sea Grill is a lot of fun. The Easter Bunny came in to visit and hand out chocolate eggs. You can see the ice skaters moving on the ice too. The food is wonderful! The prix-fixe had so many good things to eat I couldn’t decide."

  • "Ordered fish fillet that was recommended and it was half cooked, in fact raw inside. Asked for a new one and the server brought me the exact same plate back only reassembled still raw indside. I had a very hard time to keep my appetite. Then the server suggested that I chose the crab cakes instead. I agreed, it was okay. A very disappointing experience. Since I am a frequent visitor to NYC with my family, this is a restaurant we will not return to. No reembursement in the bill, just a lime cake thown at our table with no explanation. Since I paid over 300 dollars for dinner I would expect something else ! "
