But the food was really very good -- much better than it needed to be. It's good to see that they are not just raking in the tourists. The service was lovely, and very accommodating. They made changes to suit the children, and when we asked to be moved inside, they did so rapidly and kindly. I can't say enough good about the Sea Grill.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMMom loved itMy 91 year old Mom who came to live in NY from Poland when she was 19 had never been here before so was thrilled to be able to eat an early dinner outdoors on a lovely spring evening facing the statue of Prometheus. You do pay for the experience, though: coffee and iced tea were each $6 and our bill, without any alcohol, came to over $150 and Mom is about 90 pounds and doesn't eat very much. That said, though, the food was delicious, artfully prepared, and service was great as well. We each had simple grilled fish, and shared a soft shell crab appetizer and a delicious lobster mac 'n' cheese side without any dessert.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMYoung and old enjoyedWe wen to the Sea Grill to show our 16 year old granddaughter New York at its best. We, her grandparents and her mother, our daughter, enjoyed it all also. She enjoyed, as we all did the food. Most of all, we all enjoyed the scenic view of Rockerfeller

The waiters are always very attentive without being a bother. Been a tradition for many years. Our waitress was at the top of her game--friendly, but not intrusive, professional in every sense. Food delicious as usual. My 10-year-old granddaughter was with me on this visit and was very much at ease. She is a seasoned diner, accustomed to eating in fine restaurants and was delighted with this experience. When our waitress was too slow the maitre d' stepped in to speed dinner along. Everything arrived hot and fresh. Final touch was a surprise slice of birthday cake delivered to our table because open table had let them know we were celebrating a birthday. The staff were very accommodating including the manager who when we wanted a 2nd bottle of a Pino blanc which they did not have substituted another higher priced bottle at the lower price.
