The portions were perfect and the flavors worked great together. The wine list is not over priced and the open stock is a nice twist. The chef and his staff prepared a great meal. The steaks were cooked perfectly, and the potatoes were just right. We enjoyed nice pairings of wine with our meal and dessert. The ambiance is great. The staff is very friendly, very knowledgable, and very efficient. The food is great. We loved the large wine/beer/scotch choices - we tried them all. The live music was nice - you could stil talk over it but made for nice background. We did make reservations which was easy and needed. We dropped in one night a few months ago and couldn't get a table because they were so busy. We will definitely return and so will the others in our group of 6. Loved how the front of the restaurant opened up allowing an outdoor feeling. Very nice on a warm evening. Very knowledgeable and patient with people that are not regular scotch drinkers. The food was on point, and the ambiance was relaxed but not too casual. The no cry burger is delicious, and we LOVE the fingerling smashed "fries". This place was recommended to me by a friend who said it was a good place to learn about Scotch. He was absolutely right. The staff were incredibly knowledgeable and very friendly. There were a huge number of varieties available, but the staff were eager to explain everything, so it wasn't at all intimidating. I was also impressed by the quality of the food. You might think a place like this would focus on the bar and neglect the menu, but that wasn't at all the case. Half of our group took advantage of the wonderful happy hour specials. The other half enjoyed the delicious entree specials. Everyone loved their food. The decor was very cute with an antique look and I loved that our check came to us in a cigar box. Dine around Seattle brought us there, and we will be going back. The Osso Bucco was outstanding and the cheese selection was wonderful. Everything was reasonably priced and good. When we were there they were having a wine tasting of four wines, 2 oz servings, for $10. The wine per glass prices were a little high, and the bottle prices more than made up for it. I was a little disappointed in the 'plainness' of my steak, and maybe that is because everything else was so good. The thing that does make me truly sad is that my absolute favorite thing that night, what I want, want, want to go back for - the pork belly appetizer - was a special plate for Dine Around Seattle.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
